Maxxforce DT is not at all the VT365 (worst ever producted engine in my book) The DT is the evolution of the older DT466 I6 7.3L and the VT365 is a V8 6.0L (not even close to a comparaison)... And yes, that sounds like a powerstroke because it is one, the 6.0 !
No matter what it is, I think all the International engines suck now thanks to emissions standards. Our VT365's have had more down time in a year then out our older CAT 3116's.
@logicbam eh you need look again MAXXFORCE DT is the update version of DT466 from what I was told and the MAXXFORCE 7 is the updated version of a VT365
@logicbam 3800 T444e became VT365. VT365 is now the Maxxforce 7 and from what I've read has way better reliability than VT365. the DT is the inline 6 cylinder. the 3800 T444e, VT365, and Maxxforce 7 are all V8.
@justin98829 That's because this has the same 6.0L engine as you find in Ford Super Duty trucks. International/Navistar supplied engines for Ford Super Duty trucks for the longest time, from the 7.3 to the infamous 6.0, to the 6.4. The 7.3 was great, but needed to make a less-polluting engine, so Int/Nav came up with the 6.0, and it was a great engine in a large truck, but pickup trucks need to meet emissions standards and the emissions crap they strapped to that motor ruined it.
