Sorry to disagree. Angela Lansbury is a great actress, but she is so out of tune in this song, and Rex has to pull back a little, or he'll overwhelm her voice in the duet. The really great rendition of this song is between Rex and Patricia Routledge in the Central Park production. It's part of ThePenzancePirate's channel. Check it out.

@mer0902 oh my gosh, YES... we just finished doing pirates at my school, and me and the rest of the daughters all mouth it in the wings when frederic sings it, he does it pretty much like that, if not louder. XD and as soon as we get into the greenroom where the audience can't hear us, we all just belt out "FORTY SEVEN YEAR!!!" it's awesome.

I only have one suggestion for this song. When my cast did the play, we "improved" a phrase or two:

"My love unabating has been accumulating... [pause] 37--"

This helped to explain the more sudden change in Fredrick, as he's reminded that she lied to him.
