Makes you wonder why no one picked up on one of those 1,000 recordings that Susan made of this song. Susan is the perfect example of how God always blesses those who honor Him! HE certainly rewarded Susan for her loyalty to her mother and family and church as well as for her continuing to practice and sing regardless of the long time it took for HIM to bring to fruition that which HE, our LORD, knew all along that HE was going to do! Now the world knows that too!

After the stupid American "talent" shows, I was amazed anyone on a talent show would sing that well. I remember thinking, she's not good, she's incredible.... Have you seen Simon's expression after she leaves the stage in the first recording? While Piers is touting his amazement, Simon's wheels are grinding, he's doing some logistics already, and he had no idea what the outcome was about to be.
I agree with you that Susan is "Scotland's National Treasure." I've given her several titles also among which are "Scotland's Singing Princess," "World's Singing Sensation" and other similar titles. I just love her to pieces--even over here in Charlotte, NC, USA! To me Susan represents the best potention in all of us. She is a truely Christian lady and I admire her for overcoming difficulties and pursuing her dream, which now has come true. She was the TRUE WINNER of BGT, in my opinion!

I am so impressed by the life story of Susan Boyle. She entered the world with a handicap due to oxygen deprevation. She was made fun of in school. The Lord had given Susan a talent, which she appreciated and used by practice--over and over again! She worked at a regular job, I believe. She sang in church choirs; she did charity work; she participated in Karioke competitions. Then she took care of her elderly mother until the mother's death at age 91. Now Susan is a STAR! Why could she not have done this song in her second audition. She would have had the audience going wild. Oh Susan you picked the wrong song in the second audition. This demo was much better, it kills the listener softly.
The U.S has a similar feel good story, Donald Braswell came in 4th on AGT last year. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd around to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. I think this sounds like her. Not as close to the "I Dreamed a Dream," but it is similar to the 1984 video of her singing "The Way We Were." I love her voice!

I agree with you that Susan is "Scotland's National Treasure." I've given her several titles also among which are "Scotland's Singing Princess," "World's Singing Sensation" and other similar titles. I just love her to pieces--even over here in Charlotte, NC, USA! To me Susan represents the best potention in all of us. She is a truely Christian lady and I admire her for overcoming difficulties and pursuing her dream, which now has come true. She was the TRUE WINNER of BGT, in my opinion!

Most Record companies don't even want to talk to you if you're over 29.....at 30 you're over the hill with most of them...
This is why your best chance is on shows like BGT & America's Got Talent if you're over 30.
Even A-Idol & X-Factor don't want you if you're over 25....

Roberta Flack's version is absolutely beautiful.
Hearing this sung by Susan Boyle does absolutely nothing for me, I just don't like the tone of her voice, it lacks emotion and feeling as do all of her songs so far.

I am disappointed that Susan came in second. I didn't see the group that won, but Susan was amazing. I would have voted for her if I lived in the UK. I wish her luck. It's not always bad to come in second. Maybe someone with connections will give her a much deserved chance. I will buy her CD when it comes out and I am sure it will come out. Good luck Susan. Can't wait to see the song she sang tonight. It isn't on youtube yet.

She probably can 'sing circles' (if that were physically possible) around me, but I'm just refusing to jump on this positive discrimination bandwagon where everyone thinks she's a complete mongoloid until she starts to sing because I personally think it's pretty disgusting that everyone is basically praising her for being ugly and fat but with a talent as well. I am so impressed by the life story of Susan Boyle. She entered the world with a handicap due to oxygen deprevation. She was made fun of in school. The Lord had given Susan a talent, which she appreciated and used by practice--over and over again! She worked at a regular job, I believe. She sang in church choirs; she did charity work; she participated in Karioke competitions. Then she took care of her elderly mother until the mother's death at age 91. Now Susan is a STAR! Sing for JESUS

The U.S has a similar feel good story, Donald Braswell came in 4th on AGT last year. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd around to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. I've always loved this song, Susan does it well. Her 'Cry Me A River' is so beautiful. I don;t usually like female singers much- most sound like they are screeching. Susan's voice is sweet, and her command of the stage is very professional. Why she never made it I don't know- but as she said , 'here's hoping that will change'. She is fantastic and it's been a long time coming. She has to win- and the world is waiting.

the first time i saw susan i thougt as many ppl, what's she doing there?? oooh my god she is so riculous... but that changed whe she sang that beautiful with her amazing voice... and then i noticed that i was wrong, that i was judging the look.
