Like the 2 1/2 ton truck, and the C-47 one of the real reason's the western allies won ww-2. Neither the German's nor Japanese had a pilot training program like Canada and the U.S. W they lost their best pilots there were no replacements. We brought our best home to train the next generation.hen
It wasn't the most powerful, or fastest, or high flying,
but It was relaible, it was alot less expensive, and you caould out two people in it and fly alot cheaper than a Mustang or spit, or hellcat,, or corsair,
it was alway's there when you wanted it and it didnt cost the earth to redo that 1340 Radial,
The SNJ-5 was privately owned by private pilots from 1979 until 1984. Basically, It was pirvatly owned from when I was a newborn until I was 5. The Confederate Air Force acquired it in 1984 when I was only 5 years old.

I rode in that plane last year at the Camarillo Air Show for $300. The plane ride was awesome.
