@mkai4492 Because its not very french. Most of the teams on the F1 grid are British, with British headquarters and British staff. The sport is dominated by British engineering talent. Renault F1 are based out of Enstone. The technical director and chief designer are both British, as are most of the staff as you would imagine. Red bull is supposedly austrian. Based in milton keynes. British head designer. Force India ...indian. Based near silverstone, uk. Mercedes is in brackley....

ok thanks guys for all your responses so far i've heard ultra light fly wheel, no fly wheel, ultra light crankshaft, it just does, no back pressure and a stand off injector system.

i really have a strong understanding of what causes the revs to drop so fast now(ahem).

why do the revs drop so fast on an f1 car? they drop faster than the time it takes to reach them!!

on a road car you rev up to 5000rpm and the needle takes about 10 minutes to reach zero again lol

To save energy & give more rapid response they have no flywheel. That means tickover has to be set at several thousand RPM or engine would stall. Not realistic in a road going car. But sounds great on F1 eh :-)

thats just a stand-off injector system, just google and u'll find a couple of vids here on youtube of some stand-off injector system. they only use a stand-off injector system as they get better particle formation of fuel in the fuel and air mixture, plus the mixture(or mist) of fuel and air is more evenly distributed over the face of the piston, thus on the power stroke of the engine there will be an equal pressure acting over the piston, so that means less engine knock

you forgot about how tight the engines are, the tollerences on these things are very small so they can get asmuch power out of it as posible.

the result is an engine so tight you need to pump some warm oil into the engine first before you can even think of turning it over, let alone start it.

it also means they only last 2 or 3 races before being considered "spent" and they go off to be refubished or melted down itto another engine or something.
