  • where was this filmed? what part of the country?

  • @easytoremember123100 Dorset, England. ;)

  • I love PJ Harvey. I know this sounds Crazy but if I had a choice of 2 musicians, lets say if someone said ok i am going to let you record and write with 2 musicians it would be PJ Harvey and Prince in that order. Thats a hint Ms Harvey!!!

    David Moore

  • Knew nothing about the piano!? omg always thought she was amazing but dam! so down to earth as usual. great interview

  • She tells you what shes thinking she tells you how she does it- and in every interview shes so gracious- and still you dont have a clue what shes going to deliver next.

  • cor blimey she is one charming lady indeed!

  • thanks to laleidon. the interviewer, and of course PJ herself

  • I love that they shot this interview on 16mm film. At least that's what it looks like. PJ Harvey freakin' rocks so hard that mountains crumble before her. or i do at least. so maybe not mountains, but definitely molehills.

  • best artist alive - any medium, to me

  • White chalk is her best album I think!

  • @ufcluke28 I think so too :)

  • I don't think she even knows she's a genius. I love how her entire personality and speaking style changes based on the mood of each new album.

  • i wanna beat the narraytor, she sounds smakable, love pj though

  • Just got a twinge of a west country accent there...

  • lol, she sounds so local and rural! I never really saw that in her, even though I know she's from Dorset.

  • Sexy? Absolutely! Her originality, non-conformity, modesty, talent, power, akwardness, grounding and general brilliancy make her one of the sexiest women alive, I'd say.

  • I agree, she is indeed a gorgeous woman, all around. But I would never say there's "ackwardness". I believe she's completely and entirely Herself. She's raw and you can see her heart.

  • this is hilarious.

hope she never gets a creative block ever. her music is just amazing.

  • It's true. Sometimes you're more creative on instruments you're not good at. I'm a guitarist of 16 years but every time I write on the guitar I come up with the same old sh*t. When I use a laptop, keyboards or the bass things get more interesting.

  • Personally, I think this is the hottest she's ever been. Can't believe she'll be 40 this year.

  • She's lovely. And a great songwriter.

  • things change, sad shit but that's how it goes

  • She's changing and evolving.

    You should try it.

  • Well she's never been so sexy , and one can't stay the same old same all of one's life. One needs to change, to evolve, to recreate oneself's constantly.

  • oh shut up idiots. you keep repeating the same shit over and over - get over yourselves

  • There's no need to be aggressive. I understand you like her sexy side. I'm not saying your wrong. All I'm saying is that it is not necessarily a bad thing to change. We have the right to have a different opinion from yours, that doesn't make us idiots.

  • She looks great. Interesting that her songs aren't autobiographical, they seem so personal. I suppose they're about the "human condition." I hope she comes to New York, soon. I've never seen her, or my other favorite Brit singer: Morrissey, in concert. Take care, everyone.

  • does anyubody know what the 2nd song was?

  • the second song, were she is dressed in white is called "This is Love" from the record "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea"

  • she is a goddess!

  • What a fantastic interview! I just started watching and got completely lost in just listening to her talk. It was over way too quickly!

Something about her when she speaks reminds me of Kate Bush. They make different music obviously, but are similar in the sense that they both really don't sound like anyone but themselves, create stories to sing about (less of the personal stuff) and come across as being a little introverted. There aren't many unique artists around; it makes these ones special.

  • That first song was "50-Ft. Queenie"...which,

I don't see on YouTube! (Why not,it's "fair

    use" by now.)

Thanks for posting this good interview.

Must have been near PJH home in Dorset,

    England...

  • Does anyone know what that first song was?

  • 50ft Queenie

  • thank you

  • That was a fabulous interview, thank you so much for posting! I like how unpretentious, and easy to understand she is, when talking about her work, she really inspires me as an artist.

  • i would take piano lessons from her.

  • she's beautiful

  • Yes. Great interview.

  • Great interview! Much better than some of the other White Chalk interviews I've heard, some interviewers just didn't know what was going on, but this lady was great!

  • Yep. A genius.

  • good
