Did this really happened to him? I mean I know he died from a poisoned drink days later but did he actually feel the hellhounds coming to collect his soul?
@chle411 It's an official piece by the guy that is in charge of all the Supernatural songs. Sadly it's not on the soundtrack and there's no full version of this song. So everyone who's interested, this is all you're gonna hear from it.
where is the location of the place now? i looked it up on google maps but it seems that highway 61 and 49 have changed, and highway 61 overpasses 49. is this the same location just with bigger roads or has it been changed?
I love Johnson!!! To praise him the band Dirty Sound Magnet made a video clip about his life and death. I think he would be proud to see the effects of his music almost 100 years after his death. Check it out

You won't be disapointed. True blues rock still exists
"Black Dog" is a term to describe depression, e.g. "The black dog of depression", I know this cos I got it.
The blues is about the true, harsh and sometimes brutally disappointing facts of life, that tells a story of a person's life experiences or perceptions.
Robert's life was the blues and his bio pretty much says it all.
May you always R.I.P. Robert Leroy Johnson. (May 8, 1911 - Aug, 1938)
the name for blues originated on the spirituality myths of slaves. They believed that depression was a sympton of the blue devils. Which would transition into something along the lines of "I got those blues" referring to the devils.
Hi.This is Tv serie called Supernatural if i remember right 2.season 8. episode. That is not a song just intro to something..but its around E chord..Just try :)
@rollingjones95 oh, it's not in this video. I just made that comment in relation to Robert Johnson's life and music. You can find "Hellhound on My Trail" on YouTube. Definitely worth a listen!
Telling people that this guy sold his soul to the devil to get good is much more badass than telling them he just practiced real hard, and we know how much the south loves it's folk lore
Unbelievable song I cant stop listening to it! And I just picked up the ringtone at GetAllTones. com the quality is awesome if wants to get it *******
wouldn't it be funny if it was the devil that barged through the door, and just as he closes in on Robert Johnsosn, just before he takes him to hell........ Jack Black and Kyle Gas fall from the roof and the three of them challenge the devil to a blues off.
my dad is a gp and so i being completely naive and unknowlegeable of the subject believe that robert johnson had this syndrome. It consists of the connective tissue being very stretchy and this can lead to long fingers, of which johnson is renowned for. This syndrome usually leads to a very early and painful death causing the sufferer to fall to their knees and scream in agony. Legend has it that he fell to his knees and howled at the moon. Can't expalin the dogs though :P
It's believed that Robert Johnson died from a combination of Marfan's Syndrome, suspected syphallis(sp?) and possible pneumonia from after he became ill drinking the posoned bottle of whiskey.
To play the blues like Robert Johnson and many others, you gotta live, breath and feel the blues, and know how to play from your heart and soul.

What is wrong with this about Robert Johnson selling his soul ,thats not true,RoberJohnson ,had a friend that sold his soul,Robert Johson wonted to get his friend's soul back. The devil might have been Chasing Mr johson,to stop him, from trying to get his friend free,in 1 of johnson's,song he is begging the Lord for his friend's soul back.Robert Johson was a man, with limit amount Talent, and he took what talent that God Gave him,and work very had to develope it,Like everyman he had his Satan Batles
