  • Why would a research station have flamethrower?

  • Scariest part of this movie is when you have no idea what the thing is gonna look like next and you don't wanna think about it until you see it and than you shit your pants

  • If she so much as farted while my back was turned, I would have been out!

  • come on guys, stop comparing this to dead space. I do like them both but the systems of assimilation are completely different. In dead space the body is more of a puppet that the alien use to get around. In "The Thing" the host is completely broken down and replicated perfectly right down to its behavior. The transformations are then (most likely) based off of structures similar to the creature's natural form. They're both pretty cool but the Thing's transformations are much more specialized.

  • What a load of crap, '80's one was so much better.

  • I don't know why the thing doesn't merge with Kate while she's turned around. Instead it just slowly transforms.

  • Oh god i can never forgot that screem at 1:37

  • That's right, turn around reeeal slow, give the thing time to change before you run away.

  • I'll say it again: White people, when you see someone running, just RUN! Don't ask why, or walk toward where the person is running from to investigate. Run with the flow and ask questions later!

  • hmmm, well the anatomy looks correct iguess, when those teeth come from the sternum when she banding back, it made me ask either. where did it come from? or more specifically, was it stored? and how? and what parts mae up what? like the sternum itself could of made thefront middle enlarged tooth

  • hate to be a killjoy and of course there'd be no escape and no excuse for cool FX, but what sense does it make to assimilate creatures to blend in and gain confidence, then, instead of maintaining the human form and picking up a knife and stabbing the unsuspecting, breaking character & transforming &giving the victim time to split?

them aliens is the worst double agents ever!

was this 'weak point' in the 82 one? been awhile, but I think it stayed hidden in that one until forced out in the open

  • Isaac Clarke would destroy that bitch!

  • Oh well that's just icky!

  • you know I felt more scared and disturbed from the first one

  • Most of these transformations look like they were influenced by a manga called Parasyte, look it up and you'll find similar transformations. Though the manga is way more scary since the aliens are super smart not like these ones..

  • @ddnguyen278 Will do ;)

  • @hinatasaix2 the monster in the scene before the final confrontation is the creepiest one I've ever seen

  • @ddnguyen278

Sounds like that Manga is a ripoff of The Thing. lemme go check the dates.... hmmm.... 1990... yeah. Ripped off The Thing. Sorry, dude.

  • @ddnguyen278

    *One

Technically the aliens in The Thing movies are all one character. It just creates different versions of itself. In the movies, the monsters all display intelligence. The Thing is smart enough in the sequel to frame the main character by having ripped clothes with his name on them scattered everywhere, due to the fact that it can't transform into non-organic material.

  • @ddnguyen278 thing is, the thing was made way before this manga.

  • Is this the final scene of the movie?

  • @vloggsgoboom NO This was the very beginning!

  • this has dead space written all over it

  • @kiraofthewasteland i think that dead space was hevily inspired by the thing

  • @Herpmahderpful heavily

  • Hell......id still hit it.

  • This looks, almost shot-for-shot, a clone of the 1982 film. Except with shitty CGI.

  • @Kainlarsen yeah.... ok

  • The blessed mutation of Tzeentch; a Chaos Spawn.

  • Teeth growing out of muscle....creative I must say.

  • the origonal was in the 80s dead space ripped of that this is more origonal

  • @metalandjazzare1 agreed, but deadspace is more "horror" than "scary monsters" Eg i love the random wriggly tentacles here which you dont get in dead space

  • Riped off Dead Space. I hate how movies are becoming more and more like video games.

  • @ruthlessmadman Dead space riped off Silent hill. And Silent hill was partly inspired by the movie Jacob's Ladder. So it is in fact the video games who are becoming more like the movies.

  • @ruthlessmadman dude,this movie it's a prequel of a movie of 1982

  • @ruthlessmadman WTF?

  • @ruthlessmadman How can this rip off dead space if the thing was created in the 80's

  • @ruthlessmadman You sir obviously did not see the John Carpenter's The Thing produced in 1982. How old are you?

Most video games are rip offs of movies.

  • @pepsidrylok You got a point there. The game Extermination for the PS2 is even a rip-off of the 1982 The Thing.

  • kind of like Dead Space

  • this is the live action movie equivalent of dead space but its dead antarctica

  • check out the concept art at wired.com/underwire/2011/10/the-thing-audio/?pid=5051

  • I was looking on the internet and found some concept art for The Thing 2011 and they had some great ideas! I wish they could have used some of those in this movie..would have made a perfect companion to 'splitface'.

  • @sikkinyx58 Yea?

    Where'd you see them?

  • @hinatasaix2: Look up 'The Thing 2011 concept art' on Google images. I tried to post links but FUCKING YOUTUBE is being GAY.

  • @sikkinyx58 also check out

    fuckyoupalmer.tumblr.com/page/41

  • Well, one thing is for sure: No one would like THAT girl around o.0 She's freakin' scary!!

  • @mangastar666 lmao

  • Now this is a good transformation :) Thanks!
