sorry dont know how to do paragraphs..anyway if u were in the movement, and i dont me producer, but a straight up b boy, the only the electro thing back then wuz `electro` boogie. I dont know where u were in `79-87, but if u came from my neck of the woods and wuz down w/ the peeps i wuz, this is straight up hip hop. But going to ur last line..`Anyway..just enjoy it..its HIP HOP..haha..nah ..its cool..
man what happen to east/west coast wars. I cant believe.all this trash about electro/hip hop `wars. My man, listen to me, if u wuz around in early 80`s and wuz from NYC, this IS hip hop. Im no dj or music producer or none of that. i wuz i kid (18-24) that rolled thru most boros and hit the `hip hop` clubs. Seems to me most peeps from europe of newbies be callin this electro. Street sounds?? call the boogie boys and tell em they aint hip hop..tell a bam he aint hip hop cause of kraft work..
THIS is what Electro was All about in the 80's - RAW agressive beats! - Minimal awesome power! -
I have the privilage of owning this on 12" - Fuck me it sounds brutal from my Tannoys! ;-) - I was 15 when this was out in 85 - 38 now - & have evolved through every genre of Dance music.
the year is 86.. and i have sold all my precious comic albums to get some money to get this 12 inch.. I were 15 years old..living in a small town in Sweden.. The Boogie Boys beats were the shit in our school!
in 1983 i used to date a breakdancer in illinois , he was one of the "ac wrecking crew"...SADLY a few years later after gangs started taking over .....he lost his life
not true,remember a cut called "the truth" from the furious 5,they are rapping exactly over the same beat as this and it's called rap/hip hop. nowadays people also call this electro but back then you had no electro section in the record stores,only hiphop and rap.
R.I.P. Boogie Knight. You will be missed. Man!!! Romeo JD was it!!! He was the lyrical giant of the group and of the group! People so slept on him!!! If some one could post their diss record "KMD Step Off"! Remember "You ain't Fresh" "Girl Talk" and "Run it"? Classic Stuff
RAW Percussion!! - I've the 12" extended version of this too... Beats were BANG & Crunch! - Then the 808 came out & it all went limp wristed... boom dit dit boom boom ...
Ahhh, The Boogie Boys. "Break Dancer" was a big Latin Rascals song. They always had it in their mixes back in the days. "A Fly Girl" made the most noise here in the U.S. though.... Good stuff:)

@xoio straight up HIP HOP...when did peeps start callin this electro..certainly not back in the day..
NYOLSKOOL 1 year ago
@NYOLSKOOL - Electro
"Definition and characteristics
From its origins, the definition of the electro sound is the use of drum machines as the rhythmic base of a track"
Aren't those 'Electronic' DRUMS i hear in this track!!?
Was the Art Of Noise's track 'Beat Box' Hip Hop?? NO - it was Electro.
Why don't you call up Street Sounds and tell then they were WRONG in naming their first ELEVEN albums: ELECTRO 1 -to ELECTRO 11.
Anyway .. just enjoy it.... it's cool.
