yeh play hockey like the canadians and fail at every international tournament in the last 3 years!!! the russians are well better than the canadians atm, look at the world championships 2009. 90% of the russian roser was from the KHL and they still kicked the canadians asses!!! canadians suck atm and the russians will hopfully kick their asses again at the olympics!!!!! hahaha ps cherry is a jerk who wasnt good enough as a player! jelous moron!!

Although I will concede that, at this stage of their respective careers, Crosby is being outperformed, he's not the only Canadian in the league. And calling him one of the top 4 or 5 just isn't true yet.

Alex is pretty much my fav all around athlete just because he's such a cool guy.

I agree with you about Ovechkin. Don Cherry is just jealous because despite of his million dollar tuxedos he never made it to the NHL as a player, neither he won the stanley cup as a coach. So for someone that talks so much and thinks knows everything about hockey, I see very little on his resume to back up all the moralisms and hockey lessons...

Ok hear me out. I agree with Cherry TO A POINT. Theres celebrating, whatever fine. But at the same time ovechkin sometimes takes it a bit far. At the same time though Cherry is a retard. I agree with MIKET066 that it was the first goal of the game and its not like it was 5-1 at the time. Cherry stop being such a retard and deal with it. CHERRY'S A DUMBASS, Ovechkins 50th goal he scored there was THE FIRST GOAL OF THE GAME!!!! the score was not 5 to 1 at the time of that goal, and Cherry is a retard anyway, hockey needs to see fun and a player interact with fans ya this celebration was a bit over the top but most of his bring fans in and make it exciting and great, he's Alex being Alex as Mike Green said ya it was over the top but it wasnt like he pulled out a cell phone and called his mom.

Is is the best player today? Arguabley yes. Scores, hits (at times borderline charging) and steps up when he has to.
Celebrating is one thing, but you swear he won the cup in most of his goals. High caliber player with low caliber class in his goal scoring theatrics

honestly, this was the first time in a while i have agreed with don. Ovechkin should not have done that celebration in front of the other team, he could have done it in front of his bench. What he did was rub the goal directly in the lightnings noses. rookie goalies should not be subjected to that, its not what they dreamed about as a kid.
Aside from that, i was looking for a classic don cherry moment - you know, the ones where he embarasses us as a whole.
