I did have a Cold Steel Vietnam with me in Iraq though, so did a few other guys in my unit. Fun, useful tool that is confidence inspiring as a back-up weapon.
Would recommend it for someone who has family members uncomfortable with guns in the house.
Just remember in real life that they get stuck in people and things....so you have to practice extracting them so they can still be used. Or else they are like an empty gun that goes click instead of bang.

i say we make martial arts or a combative sport such as wrestling mandatory in american schools. so that way theres less incentive for people who lack the common sense to handle a firearm to get one, and because martial arts/wrestling build character. not to mention there could very likely be less rape, assualt, and muggings cuz the bad guys are paranoid that their victim could kick their ass

@burnzorz on using it to kill people, the potential murderer does not know how good their victim is. that alone could drive away potential crime. if they do decide to go ahead and murder/mug/rape at least the victim has some way to defend themselves if they are unarmed.

@Eso1 i would have to say the norse hawk, i dont have one, but i do have a riflemans hawk, its great as a tool for splitting wood and can no doubt hit like a ton of bricks, but is too slow and heavy for fast work, also the norse hawk has two sharp points and a wider cutting edge, just my two cents

I met a guy once that got shot in the leg and shoulder when someone tried to steal his wallet. The guy didn't get a third chance to shoot, because he cut his throat with a linoleum knife. This guy wasn't a black-ops soldier, a kung-fu master, a death row con, or anything like that. He was a plumber. A plumber that just wanted to go for a walk after a (no pun intended) shitty day at work. He felt bad, but he said that sometimes you have to get messy to get things done. That man is my hero.

Awesome video! I actually get accosted by men with knives on a semiregular basis. I always have my tomahawk with me, but it never occurred to me until now that it can be used as a self-defense tool, as well as a convenient way to chop wood when it becomes necessary.

Not completely true, the british army was made up of irish and scotish moreso. Britain had only just finished fighting the peninsular campain and to then haveto defend a colony the other side of the world was just not practical. Especially against an unconventional soldier such as the rangers on a wilderness battlefeild. It was just a matter of time, and to be fair there were more royalist supporters than patriots due to to trade with britain, the war was all about money like any other.

I don't have/want/like guns, but a knife is a useful tool and I carry one everyday. I'm not planning on getting into fights or needing it to defend myself, I just might need to cut something. Yet media stoked paranoia has helped the UK government to just take away people's tools. That's not freedom, sir.

Case and point: at the end of the day, your sister still took a life. Actually, the case and point is that things like that are extremely rare. The Tomahawk is the best melee weapon for an American.
It is hardly associated with tyranny. It can be used for construction AND destruction.
There's just too much to say about the Tomahawk or Hatchet.

I did have a Cold Steel Vietnam with me in Iraq though, so did a few other guys in my unit. Fun, useful tool that is confidence inspiring as a back-up weapon.
Would recommend it for someone who has family members uncomfortable with guns in the house.
Just remember in real life that they get stuck in people and things....so you have to practice extracting them so they can still be used. Or else they are like an empty gun that goes click instead of bang.

Be real guys, it is better to have an m16 loaded up and ready to go. Shotgun/pistol after that....then a large knife or tomahawk.
You want to be able to transition distances immediately in Iraq and you are not going to be throwing your 'hawk at all. If you slit one guy's noggin in this corner of a room, across the room could pull up a different guy with an AK.
It will always be mostly a tool and definitely a back-up to firearms.

these techniques are being utilized by our own troops right now in one form or another. within a 20 foot radius, a hawk is just as deadly and actually more likely to connect than a rifle or shotgun under stress. And you never run out of tomahawk...
