HEY dude , well im from Chile and i guess you guys know everything now , we just have a TZUNAMI in TALCAHUANO , this is the secod bigges earthquake in Chile , the first one was in 1960 - 9.5 this one was just huge , one of the good things is that the building are made for this situetion (sorry my english) but most of the people are doing just ok , al lot of fear right now its going on but the wors part was in the south of Chile - Concepcion the second largest city .

It was over 20 miles deep so that takes some off of the intensity and it was over 60 miles offshore which also helps.

But 8.8 is huge in itself. That would make it tied for 5th for the largest earthquake.

Wow, that is insane. Yeah, the force of this quake is almost unimaginable. It is like 80 times the force of the Haiti quake if I have my math/scales right. Luckily it hit deep and somewhat away from population centers.

@ConservativeNewMedia Here it is the link for our local cable news tv detailing that 15 minutes after the quake in Chile, houses and buildings in São Paulo shaked a bit, in waves, for more or less 1/2 hour. It is odd to the locals because we don't have quakes regularly here. A few people suffered nausia. The Firefighters Corps chieff of staff tells that they attended 100 callers, one building might be in structural jeopardy. Nothing serious compared to Chile.
