  • Thank you so much for this video and especially for your awesome song! I was smiling the entire time I was watching. Left Brooklyn in the 70's to live in PA. Now I'm all the way out in Arizona and would move back in a heartbeat. Brooklyn was the most wonderful place to be raised and the people were fantastic. Truly a wonderful community.

  • @bensgram: thank you for the nice comment!

  • Like others here, I left Brooklyn in the mid 70's, lived in Delaware for about 1½ years, then in PA to the present ... but Brooklyn has NEVER left me. I still have family and friends in Brooklyn and in and around the NYC area. I get back to the city as often as I can now. I miss the cultural diversity, the music, and the people.

was where I bought all my models and Gi joes. Frenchies was the place for all your bike parts, he moved to canarse later on

  • Yuppers, girl, you got it . . . . I mean your vision is dead on, your song rocks and your voice is strong even though you took the Brooklyn out if somehow. Those are my streets, my places too.

  • Trolley tracks, Ebbetts Field, the Granada matinees, Coney Island cyclone, baked macaroni picnics at Plum Beach, big waves at Riis Park, hydrants opened in summer heat, Lindy's in Sheepshead Bay, Bungalow Bar, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge to Little Italy for lemon ice,and "we owned" the Brooklyn Museum/Botanical Gardens too! "Wheah dya think yer from, Brooklyn??" YEAHHH!

  • really awesome song, and loving the photoes used too.. i'm from the Uk and love Brooklyn and surrounding areas [desperate to move over!] ,but yeah stumbled upon this whilst searching for videos of the area :) xx

  • @neenawwxo: I love the UK! Thought U were from there, the "whilst" gave it away, lol. Thanks for the compliments!

  • @KiraKisa100: Thanks so much for the great compliments! :)

  • @AnkV19 Is it ok if I use this video in a family video. My mom was born in brooklyn. Will attribute of course.

  • @thingtwiceaboutthis: Sure! I appreciate U asking first. Hi to the Brooklyn Girl, (aka Mom)!

  • Man, I wish Brooklyn was still a place for Brooklynites..... I left Brooklyn after 38 yrs about 3 years ago. Born and raised in Sunset Park, lived there and Bay Ridge my whole life but for a short stint in Manhattan...But a million dollar shit hole for a house no longer made sense to me. Neither did the over crowding, sardine can subway, etc. Yet I still go back to Brooklyn every couple of mnths to visit fam/fiends and just walk the streets. It's missed. Hey Bucks cnty, I live in willow grove!

  • @karambitmaker totally agree with you. a lot of these yuppies and hipsters are taking over neighborhoods and trying to oddly fit into places they don't clearly belong.

  • That was so awesome...I am in tears. I left Brooklyn in the '80s (I live in Bucks County, Pa. which is not really far from Brooklyn...but just far enough to make going there a challenge...Brooklyn will always be in my heart. You captured my life in this video. Thank you so much.

  • @1feeback: Wow, thank U so much for your sweet comment. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. I hope you'll try to make it back there soon!

  • i love this so much, keep it up..

wow, it brought back so many memories.

I am proud to have grown up here, and I still live in Brooklyn.

Coney Island is back - bigger and better than ever as of this past April

  • @tomc1167: Thanks so much, apprec it! I'll def be paying C.I. a visit soon.

  • Brooklyn is a freakin shithole, never want to see this place again it can go to hell

  • I do love the song.

  • I just looked at your video again.....I love it....nothing like home and when you're not home, you can find it on youtube. Please tell your British friend who is visiting Brooklyn re: Coney Island which I think may be closed for renovations, but not sure.

  • I'm English and I begged my mum to take me to new York for my 16th birthday this year and now coming and I can't wait, especially to cross Brooklyn bridge, great video of you hometown :) by the way, are there any theme/ amusement parks in brookyln ? :p

Any recommendations for what i should do in new jersey aside from go to six flags theme park which i know is first on my list :)

  • This has been such a treat for me I was in Brooklyn today I live in NJ but just cant stay away and ofcourse had to have a roast beef sandwich! LOve Broklyn and again thank you

  • I love your song. Just what I need when I'm homesick for the streets of Brooklyn and the game of Ring-o-levio which is now outlawed.

  • @InfoatPinkSliptvsm: I remember that game. "Jail" was my stoop, lol. Glad U liked the song, thanks for writing!

  • I was so homesick for the streets of Brooklyn tonight, especially when I heard that the game Ring-O-Leavy-O had been made illegal (sorry, I don't know how to spell the name of the game, but I can play it). Thanks for letting me go home again and I love the song.

  • I came to Brooklyn from Spain. I went to PS199, Andries Hudde JH and graduated from James Madison HS. I lived in 1616 Ave M and your song brought many tears to my eyes. I loved living there and you are right, there is no other place quite like it. I truly love your song. Love in Christ Jesus, Tony
