Wow excellent review. Out of all the big name critics that reviewed this game yours really is the most honest. I couldn’t agree more Halo 3 was such a HUGE disappointment with both its single player campaign and online multiplayer. Ironically another lie is that it was the last game of the series, after 4 years they’re still continuing to pump out these mediocre games.
Also, hype like this an only be expected from Microsoft, who quite literally had Bungie's balls in a vicegrip at the time the entrie Trilogy was made. The game also wasn't really meant to be played for its "new features," all of which are extremely clever, IMO; they balance out the gameplay really well, considering the difference in pacing between H2 and 3. The campaign is certainly worth buying the game for, and is what it is; a Wrap-up, but an excellent one.
All gameplay graphics will, for the forseeable future, ALWAYS be less than a pre-rendered trailer, and will always fall within the limitations of budget and the console itself. Not to mention, optimization. The music is actually EXTREMELY well done, better than any other game I've played. The clip you showed actually appeared to me as though you triggered the music and ran back to that spot to make it seem awkward.

But, the multi-player is EPIC, in my opinion. weekly updates made by Bungie make the online play even better. and no Halo-hater can say that they haven't enjoyed Grifball at some point. Theater is great too, something that COD really needs to get.
Halo 3 is shit. I seriously have no idea what makes it so great... for a FPS-game it is slow, plays on rather low FPS and has incredibly boring and low quality texture and ofc, paired with the really low quality firing sounds. it is however, very multiplayer friendly and has a "good" soundtrack. You can't possibly say it has "the best" graphics out there... And also, what's the bloody idea of having to download a 600~ mb large map pack just to be able to play ranked games? and the slow team ups.
you couldn't be more wrong the graphics are amazing compared to any xboox game, there are now glitches to be found or places in the backround with dodgy graphics. its not overhipped, the online is one of the best produced by x-box and there are no other games out there were you can make your own maps and play them let alone take screenshots of epic moments. you have concentrated too much on the campain which isn't the best be is still above average
I love halo but I have agree it is a generic shooter. The only reason I really like it is probably the fact that I can play with friends. Halo is great. Halo 2 and 3 on the other hand didn't really add much. I mean sure its just as good but Halo 1 is still my fav because the story was good for the time.

halo 3 was indeed a multiplayer game with a campaign slapped on to it. I think you were a bit soft though, as a fanboy I found Halo 3 to be disappointing the to the point of being offensive. The game sucks.

minxado is right the trailer is pre rendered as a CGish scene. At least half of the replay value comes from the multiplayer so you should have given some points there. One main facet to many games these days is multiplayer and if you are not good at it you should not just judge the game from the single player mode.

yes halo 3 is awesome i have it for my xbox 360 finished the game in 2days though kinda lame that it ends that halo dies so im just playing live with halo 3.

I totally agree with you on the graphics, and those Lies, all LIES!!!!!!!!!! But I did enjoy the game itself, for me it was satisfying, just not as satisfying as I hoped. Bungi had the opportunity for those original amazing graphics they showed, but they had to throw in a whole bunch of other stuff that caused the graphics to be toned way down, like saved films, and co-op. It really pissed me off when the reflection on MC's helmet was not as clear as the e3 trailer one.
i agree with u on the hype, and i half agree with lie #1, but lie #2 was a load of bullcrap. the "believe" ad was meant to show the epic warring going on between the covenant and the humans, and how master chief ends up as a major part of sucess. it was NOT intended to reveal any part of the plot. mostly, actually, it was connected to a point a good few years AFTER the end of halo 3.
While I do agree with you there, MGS and Halo are two completely different games, so you can't really compare them. But still, when it came to the hype, MGS4 still lived up to it.
I think the biggest problem with halo 3 was that it was waaaay overhyped and it became way too main stream. they made the game for everybody. it wasn't as badass as the other two games. Its obvious that alot of the people who will play this are like 12 years old but did they really have to dumb everything down for them? even the skulls are easy as hell to get. hell little booklet has a section titled THE STORY SO FAR.

I did not enjoy it. I don't know about Fable 2 as the first one was too animated and child-like. I felt like I was 5 while playing the game. I'm worried that the 360 has just simply run out of games and is dying. Should I sell it and buy a PS3? Its line-up sounds to me is better than the 360s. I mean 150+ exclusives. MGS4, need I say more?
ok i think u wher wrong when u said about halo isnt set right after halo 2, cos at the end of halo 2 the forerunner ship with master cheif on arrives, and he does his "finishing the fight" speach, and halo 3 starts with him leaving the ship and the marines finding him in the jungle

funny video and i know what you mean about it being overhyped because i bought into the hype myself but a few things. first off the trailer was out way before the game itself and it was quite obviously a cutscene, not at all a in game cinematic like the one you compared it with. the second part about the plot being shown with the "believe" campaign was that it wasn't acctually the plot to the game, merely a battle that took place and soldiers recalling master chief. good video though dude=)

Halo isn't a bad game, its just really overated. It's for people who own a console and don't play pc shooters. So alot of people who own a xbox are just like "HALO IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!"
when halo first came out the first week everyone loved it except for a small group, but then progressively over time everyone figured out the game wasn't as good as it we expected. it was the first time EVER that i got swept away in the hype believing it was the next thing to god. i don't hate it...but i don't love it i come back to it because it is the only multiplayer that i can play with friends.

Halo was great. Sadly, everything was downhill from there. The story got worse, the levels got worse, and it really was just more and more of the same. It could never replicate the awesomeness of playing the first Halo.
He is right, but I thik he should have given it a higher rating. there was absolutely nothing wrong with Halo 3, just the way that the media potrayred it. the hype was worthy of the game, but it was misdirected. this is an awesome first-person shooter, with incredible online play. but thats not what got everybody so excited. they were all eager for more storyline, but the game gives you more features, because that way, it lasts longer. an rpg gets old, because all you have is storyline.
Although i disagree with what you where saying i am not going to critersise you about it. I am a massive halo 3 fan...but you are in title to your opinion.

Well I'm sorry to disagree, but the graphics are miles beyond any other game, with the exception of COD4, which has equal graphics. The storyline is great, and far better than any other single player campaign. Multi player is easily the best part, and halo 3 really shines there. Well made video man, but slight disillusioned.

What you're saying makes no sense. Halo 3 takes skill. If you can't aim with a BR or Sniper, then you'll do yourself no good. It sounds like you're a level 1 recruit, and all you play is Lone Wolves. If you want to complain about autoaim, then go play CoD4, or another game that actually has autoaim. Halo 3 takes skill, like it or not.
And try bringing your argument to an MLG player. They;ll shoot you down so fast you won't be able to see yourself fall.

ok first of all everybody makes their games look better for e3. and that trailer was clearly a cinematic, not part of the game, and master chief didnt just "fall over" he got blown down lol. second, no one ever said that the diorama had anything to do with the game, i did feel a little misled but im not complaining. and are u kidding me? it takes forever to get all the achievements in campaign and you totally left forge out and u didnt go over mulitplayer. come on man!!!

i liked halo 3..for 2 weeks..it was fun at first but everything just wore off the multiplayer even got broign after a month or so for me..i just don't see how so many people love that multiplayer..i think gears and rainbow is better..then again im more into tactical shooters than run and gun

I totally agree with you on the graphics, and those Lies, all LIES!!!!!!!!!! But I did enjoy the game itself, for me it was satisfying, just not as satisfying as I hoped. Bungi had the opportunity for those original amazing graphics they showed, but they had to throw in a whole bunch of other stuff that caused the graphics to be toned way down, like saved films, and co-op. It really pissed me off when the reflection on MC's helmet was not as clear as the e3 trailer one.

i agree with u on the hype, and i half agree with lie #1, but lie #2 was a load of bullcrap. the "believe" ad was meant to show the epic warring going on between the covenant and the humans, and how master chief ends up as a major part of sucess. it was NOT intended to reveal any part of the plot. mostly, actually, it was connected to a point a good few years AFTER the end of halo 3.

I think the biggest problem with halo 3 was that it was waaaay overhyped and it became way too main stream. they made the game for everybody. it wasn't as badass as the other two games. Its obvious that alot of the people who will play this are like 12 years old but did they really have to dumb everything down for them? even the skulls are easy as hell to get. hell little booklet has a section titled THE STORY SO FAR.

I'm a 360 owner and I'm really worried if not scared. Halo 3 was a huge disappointment for me: over hyped and overrated. GoW was well...eh.
I did not enjoy it. I don't know about Fable 2 as the first one was too animated and child-like. I felt like I was 5 while playing the game. I'm worried that the 360 has just simply run out of games and is dying. Should I sell it and buy a PS3? Its line-up sounds to me is better than the 360s. I mean 150+ exclusives. MGS4, need I say more?

ok i think u wher wrong when u said about halo isnt set right after halo 2, cos at the end of halo 2 the forerunner ship with master cheif on arrives, and he does his "finishing the fight" speach, and halo 3 starts with him leaving the ship and the marines finding him in the jungle

funny video and i know what you mean about it being overhyped because i bought into the hype myself but a few things. first off the trailer was out way before the game itself and it was quite obviously a cutscene, not at all a in game cinematic like the one you compared it with. the second part about the plot being shown with the "believe" campaign was that it wasn't acctually the plot to the game, merely a battle that took place and soldiers recalling master chief. good video though dude=)

i enjoyed 1, 2 was ok and so was 3. i agree with you its wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to0 overhyped its not the ultimate game on the case it says on a quote 'game of the century' errrr no its not. the gameplay hasnt changed at all and the story will give you seizures and nightmares tryin to figure it out. the flood make no sense to the story and i think were added to make the game have more variety. Still i think Halo3 is good i would give it 8.5/10 Multiplayer helps it but not as good as COD4 and Warhawks

halo 1, absolute best story which i played more then 2 and 3 combined, 2 was great with awesome multipalyer, 3 was good, with a solid online gaming experience but the story left me thinking...WHAT?!

when halo first came out the first week everyone loved it except for a small group, but then progressively over time everyone figured out the game wasn't as good as it we expected. it was the first time EVER that i got swept away in the hype believing it was the next thing to god. i don't hate it...but i don't love it i come back to it because it is the only multiplayer that i can play with friends.

Halo was great. Sadly, everything was downhill from there. The story got worse, the levels got worse, and it really was just more and more of the same. It could never replicate the awesomeness of playing the first Halo.

He is right, but I thik he should have given it a higher rating. there was absolutely nothing wrong with Halo 3, just the way that the media potrayred it. the hype was worthy of the game, but it was misdirected. this is an awesome first-person shooter, with incredible online play. but thats not what got everybody so excited. they were all eager for more storyline, but the game gives you more features, because that way, it lasts longer. an rpg gets old, because all you have is storyline.

However you didn't give forge a mention, that is one of the greatest things that has ever happened for Halo!

i played halo 3 and i won halo 3 in the same day coz its so fucking easy and short as hell it was over hyped and even if it wasn't its still just an OK game its not a 8.9 its not even a 8.5 2 me i would give it a 8.0 and yes i'm taking into count the graphics and the fact thats the end but still they could have made it much better

Well I'm sorry to disagree, but the graphics are miles beyond any other game, with the exception of COD4, which has equal graphics. The storyline is great, and far better than any other single player campaign. Multi player is easily the best part, and halo 3 really shines there. Well made video man, but slight disillusioned.

What you're saying makes no sense. Halo 3 takes skill. If you can't aim with a BR or Sniper, then you'll do yourself no good. It sounds like you're a level 1 recruit, and all you play is Lone Wolves. If you want to complain about autoaim, then go play CoD4, or another game that actually has autoaim. Halo 3 takes skill, like it or not.
And try bringing your argument to an MLG player. They;ll shoot you down so fast you won't be able to see yourself fall.

ok first of all everybody makes their games look better for e3. and that trailer was clearly a cinematic, not part of the game, and master chief didnt just "fall over" he got blown down lol. second, no one ever said that the diorama had anything to do with the game, i did feel a little misled but im not complaining. and are u kidding me? it takes forever to get all the achievements in campaign and you totally left forge out and u didnt go over mulitplayer. come on man!!!

I thought ur review was great, the reason i still play halo 3 is because of the multiplayer as online is AMAZING! But the single player was a HUGE letdown. The only game that wasn't hyped up that much that turned out great was Bioshock, it came out from nowhere. Anyway gr8 review, keep up the good work!

And all the times i played this game there was something rare and it`s because i,ve played this game years before and the name was Halo: Combat evolved, in the end this is a really good game and recommended for everyone looking for a great online experience but dont expect to be blow away if you have played the other halo, good mark
