  • your at the same weight as me when i got 365 for 3 the next week, 315 for 10 rep i got 400 raw. tomorrow i'm trying for 405 raw then 425 with mark bell's sling shot. good job on your lifts keep posting. i'll try to post tomorrows lift. i'm at a new gym tomorrow

  • @TheMark76ers

Cool. Yeah, this vid's a bit old. My best triple was 375 lbs and I was able to get a clean, long pause with 405 lbs. I also hit 315 lbs x 11 one day and 2 sets of 10 another day. My best max is only 410 lbs though...

All these vid's are posted on my channel.

Looking forward to seeing your 405 lb vid. Send it over when you hit it! Stay strong.

  • Have you ever been at the time when you really needed a spotter? because my coach gets on me when i don't use one, but yah, your really a beast!

  • @CameronImMySelf

Ha, ha...nah...I have spot racks in place, so my spotter is always there. Thanks for the comments.

  • you bench weird when i see you benching you dont grip the bar im like o damn the bars going to slid,,,,,,,,,splat

  • Ha, ha...don't worry bro...I have benched with a false-grip for 20+ years and never had any issues. But I always bench under control and within my means...so I think I am safe.

Oh, and I have spot racks in place anyway.

Nice bench vid's yourself...300 lbs for 8 is impressive bro...keep it up.

  • good job man!

  • Thanks bro - I appreciate that.

  • By the looks of your maximum dumbell bench press, and how easily you did 365 X 3, I think It would be safe to say that 400 wouldn't be that hard for you =). Anyways you are a beast!

  • Thanks man...this 360 lbs x 3 felt good that day. But the bench is a weird animal...your strength goes up and down all the time. I still haven't been able to hit 400 lbs as of yet...but hopefully soon!

Thanks for the nice comment bro.

  • what impresses me is that your arms dont look particularly muscular but you are a very strong presser. what was your max in say high school or earlier on on like bench?

  • Thanks...I guess!?! I will take that as a compliment (that my arms aren't particularly muscular!)...ha, ha, ha.

In high school I could bench over 300 lbs...but then I went through about 10 years of schooling/kids/career where I never trained that much and just tried to maintain my strength.

It's only been in the last two years that I have started to increase my strength again. Hopefully I keep increasing from here...

  • i saw one of your other videos....nevermind your arms are good sized, maybe you just looked dehydrated in this vid? hmmm idk weird

  • Thanks Kaz...next time out I will either try 370 lbs x 2 or 365 lbs x 3. Slowly getting heavier...

  • The impressive thing about your d/bell presses is that you do them with your feet off the floor,if you planted the feet as soon as you lay back on the bench i`m sure you`d get another 1-2 more reps.

  • Thanks man...yeah, maybe...I prefer to do dumbells this way to really isolate my chest/shoulders/tris. Hopefully I can hit the 160's for a couple next time around!

  • You made that 3.5" lockout look easy! At least you weren't wearing your flip flops when the weights started to fly!

  • Thanks man...no kidding...that would have hurt the old feet a little bit! Oh well...no pain, no gain, right? LOL

  • you should be hitting 400 very soon.. you prolly wouldve gotten a good 390 today!

  • Thanks bro...we'll find out soon enough!

  • one of the best non-competitive/non-pro athlete lifters on the tube. love the dedication. how often do you use dumbells?

  • Thanks man...I appreciate that.

This was the second time using dumbells in the last 5 years. I just bought the adjustable dumbells for home so that I could start using them. I want to hit the 160's for a few...

    Thanks for watching.

  • congratulations .... but be carefull with the dumbells

  • Thanks bro...I appreciate that. I'll do my best not to drop the weights on me! LOL

  • holy shit man, your lucky the dumbbells didnt come undone while you were pressing them! great job nonetheless. i wish my gym had dumbbells over 100 lbs but whatever.. good job with 360, i can remember your video of getting 360 for 1, so your progress is going well! and nice work with the lockouts dude, 400 seems just in reach for you. cant wait to see whats next bro, keep it up!

  • Thanks man...I appreciate that. Yeah, I still remember when 360 lbs was a killer for a single (last July). It's finally starting to feel lighter...

It'll be nice one day when 4 plates feels rep-able for 3! But that's a long ways off at the moment...

  • Great video, great bench pressing and dumbbell pressing, five stars kiddo. It's good to see that you're not using your fore arms for something!! haha! That bench you use is exactly what I need, and you don't really have to go to a real gym if you're accomplishing the same thing with the equipment you have. Great job!!

  • Ha, ha...that's funny. Too bad there wasn't a way to work my forearms into the bench...maybe I could get 400 lbs that way!

True, I do like working out at home doing what I do. But having dumbells that didn't fall apart would be a nice bonus; although, not a lot of gyms carrying many over the 120's.

Thanks for the great comment. I really appreciate that from a guy like you!

  • Dude a Double Bodyweight Mid-Range Lockout is no joke. Thats like a 3-board but you couldn't let it sink and bounce off.

  • Thanks bro...I am trying. Hopefully I can hit that 400 for a full rep soon...

  • The upper end on that lockout was nothing!! Great session R!!

  • Thanks D...

  • Very nice! Outstanding progress towards 400!

  • Thanks bro...I have to try and make a run for 400 lbs before basketball/volleyball starts up again in the fall. So, hopefully I can hit 400 lbs in the next month or so...

  • nice motivational music. three reps now thats progress, and i like your workout space too. cheers.

  • Thanks bro..

  • Nice work on the 360 x 3 as well, I think that puts your max around 390-395 now.

  • Thanks - hopefully next time out is 365 lbs x 3 or 370 lbs x 2...either one will be a PR and will set me up nicely for the next few weeks. I might try 390 lbs soon to see how it feels...

  • 155 x 3 on dumbbells very nice work man, I think you can def squeeze out 160s for a single and tie big ol Mark!

The same thing happened when I attempted 150 on the adjustables at my gym they came apart when I put them down too lol, that's why I don't like using them anymore.

  • Thanks Jared...yeah, the 156's weren't that bad actually. The hardest part is getting them in place (it took me 3 attempts! LOL). I will probably try 161's next week after the bruising on my legs heal from trying to get these beasts into position...(no joke). What a pain in the butt...hurts to grow I guess!

  • DUDE MY LEGS ARE SO BLACK AND BLUE from setting up my dumbbells!- it looks like i was brutally abused LOL. i was thinking of making a video about it but i concluded that would be just a little bit homo. lols.

  • Ha, ha, ha...I hear ya...too funny. Mine are pretty bruised up. The adjustables suck. But they're doing the job. I think next time out (maybe later next week) I will hit the 161's for a double. That's the goal anyway...

  • Hey,I'm very happy for you! You had a great workout.Great job on the PR's.You're right, now's a good time a rest. What's next a double or a max attempt with 390 lbs or so? If I were you,I would try for a max and see exactly where your at.

    Again great job!

  • Thanks Mark. I am slowly creeping up there...

I am trying to keep my rep speed up as I increase the weights (especially on that first rep). For some reason I slow it right down on max attempts and I lose all my power. Hence, why I can match you on 345 lbs and lower, but not with heavier weight. My "maxing" technique sucks.

I need more practice. I will probably try 370 lbs x 2 to see how it feels. That should be an easy PR and it will set me up nicely for 390 lbs.

  • haha yea i suggest u try a real gym... better yet get a training partner too! :D

its so much more easier and so much more SAFE!

When you start putting together dumbbells that big on your own anything can happen

  • Ha, ha...thanks man...although, none of the gyms that are close to me have dumbells over 120's anyway, so there's not much point! Oh well...I guess I'll just keep doing what I am doing... ;-)

  • wow great job man strong pr.

  • Thanks bro...I am trying...slow and steady...
