At least the Boston Tea Party back in the day did some damage (i.e. throwing the tea overboard). That may have been the first direct action in American history. This "Tea Party" movement is just a bunch of wimps walking around carrying signs and bitching about what they don't like.

We need more political choice in this country if we want things to change peacefully. Both parties are only interested in money and power. I disagree with many tea party ideas, but one thing I can support is the chance for a viable third party. A two-party monopoly makes it far too easy for corporations and other interests to buy off reps.
