  • Does TCAS inherently makes sure the other plane will be ordered to descent?

  • @underverser the rules behind TCAS are such that planes don't behave like people in a hallway: either or both will move in opposite directions.

  • Climb, Climb, Climb now, MOTHER FUCKER I SAID CLIMB NOW FUCKING CLIMB!!!!!!!!

  • That is an "useless" video. =p

  • This video went viral on Brazil

  • ATR

  • somebody said stall . or overspeed down there. I just really really wonder how did you guys know the air speed??

  • overspeed then stall =X thats not efficient.. lol

  • This voice is rude! Actually it should say " Climb now please"

  • @fIugasche in real situations like this, there's no time for "please"... I saw a flight sim training video where a future pilot was saying someth. like this, "we have a fire on board, could we please land at your airport" and he failed the training unit because of this :D in emergencies there's no time for politeness

  • @vsbfbmusic there's ALWAYS time for politeness if you're British. just watch the thompson bird strike video: "departure good morning, this is mayday thompson..."

  • @fIugasche And that is not effective.

  • At upgrade to TA traffic is 100 feet above. On upgrade to RA traffic is still 100 ft above. one second after upgrade to RA and after told to descend the traffic is now at the same level with a ROD of at least -500 FPM (down arrow). About 7 seconds after becoming an RA the other aircraft is now 100 feet below.

What is interesting is that [in the real world] the other aircraft would have to have received a "Climb, Climb Now" RA. TCAS will not issue an RA if the other aircraft only has a xpdr.

  • What is it saying. I understood. Traffic Traffic and clear of conflict. what else did it say?

  • @Correctivemind Tells you to descend, as well as "climb, climb now!". On some TCAS models, it shows a green "zone" which will save the aircraft from conflict, but it doesn't on this one.

  • @FBIRoyLindell could be because the other aircraft does not take any action, or the wrong action, so it comes up with another solution?!

  • Would be a very G heavy Ascent...

  • There's only one instrument that can terrify me on planes, TCAS. When I get a tcas action, I;ll panicly comply with it >.< (On FS ofcourse : ) )

  • 30.68 on the altimeter? Were you flying in volcano?

  • thank you

  • Thanks. This video has changed my life forever.

  • @licitly what????

  • close call, 300' of separation...

  • where can I download this??

  • thats my point... but now i realized that its a 3d Animation, it looks so realistic

  • what the hell... you covered 1.6nm in 48 seconds... that means you were going at about 96 knots?

    x X

    o

  • stall

  • the distance that is showing is the distance to a radio beacon (VOR). If the aircraft is not flying directly to or from this station, it will obviously not show the correct groundspeed

  • A reading that relates to true airspeed as indicated on the VOR is only accurate if the aircraft is travelling directly to, or from the VOR.

  • Could be a headwind.

  • @gescoboza moreover the DME distance/time is related to the Ground Speed more than the TAS (because if you have tailwind or headwind your airspeed can be very different than the speed related to the ground) and only when you are flying inbound or outbound a VOR (having intercepted one of its radials).

In this case he was obvisouly not flying on a VOR's or he was but with very strong headwind.

  • Pretty nice video:)
