  • Thank you! Super helpful!

  • SIMPLE QUESTION: how do i make a sweep like that you are tutoring on the video but not with a white noise...with another sound....the operator has just a white noise and few other like 2-3 sounds.....how do i sweep any sound that i want? *except pitching up the sound.

  • what can you do to make it... less white noisiesh and sound cleaner?

  • @GalaxySpaceStation EQ the low and mids out

  • @eArtrash how do you do that exactly?

  • Comment removed

  • Definitely what I was looking for. Thanks mane!

  • I still dont get how to create the uplifter part, all i have is just white noise and i cant create the lifting part where the bass will drop at the end, helppp pleaseee

  • @KrackhauSwag: turn filter on. on the right side of the operator settings: lfo, filter etc. put a marker next to the "filter" and start with a low frequency, which rises up to the grand finale (you can draw that in the arrangement view or use a midi controller while playing). the resonance is a helpful aswell. dont forget to put a reverb and eq.

  • @KrackhauSwag you may not have filter turned on

  • I was just wondering how it would be possible to use the filter env for the swosh effect. I am using Operator with a single Osc A and the filter knob does the swosh like in your video. But the envelope of that filter seems not to make any effect, trying to use a long attack time, the filter still starts at the knob frequency instead of reaching that point during the attack time. How can I get that?

  • @bxyify follow the tutorial again you are obviously missing a step.

  • what midi controller are you using for this ?

  • make sure ya EQ the white noise, remove the lows for a crispier swoosh!

  • If you wanna have a much more precise sidechain compression try to set the Model to FF1, 1MS lookahead, peak envelope..

Set the attack pretty low, 0.03 around that and play with the release.. gets you very good results..

  • @Senj1n Good tip!

  • @Senj1n an attack of even 1ms can sometimes create clipping, depending on how hard your side-chaining the signal. Usually better to be 3ms or more. Obviously not too high, nothing over 10ms, but 1ms can create clipping sounds.

  • Thanks bro, been an incredible help. made the switch from reason and ableton got my track laid down and i just needed those winds for the mix.

  • cool vid

  • Nice ! THX

  • Excellent tutorial. Can't believe I actually found what i was looking for by typing in "swoosh noise". Great job! Make more!

  • Nice upload dude...

  • Thanks again eartrash

  • what drum samples do you use? anything particular from prime loops?

  • @NickofNarnia fidget vs electro. they are awesome

  • @NickofNarnia don't bother with prime loops... i've bought stuff off of them and tbh they are pretty shitty! Not really worht paying for

  • @stoph2 If they were shitty samples they wouldn't be selling as many as they are.Prime Loops are awesome!

  • @eArtrash i got one prime loops pack to see what it was like and i'd never buy them again, most were tacky and terrible, i agree with stoph2.

  • @stoph2 You paid for samples?

  • @catalyst1588 for good ones you have to

  • thnks im using reason n it still helped me out

  • How do you set the automation on the frequency, without having to do it with the controller? I'm a great fan of all your vids, helped me alot. Please continue uploading!

  • @aldertguitarist1 just right click whatever you want to automate and select show automation. the great thing about ableton is that almost everything can be automated. :]

  • whorst tutorial evar!!!!!

  • @MrRidisc Thanks :D

  • @MrRidisc Worst spelling ever...

  • Didnt give me exactly what I need but i worked out the minor discrepancies. THANKS!

  • can i just ask what the point in recording it with no automation then recording it with automation was? could you not have just automated straight away or is this necessary?

  • @benoc1402 absolutely no point, its just the way i done it.

  • Thank you for the tut.

  • Great vid mate, just what I was looking for.

  • Thanks !

  • thanks for the great tutorial ! just what i needed !! :)

  • Hey that was a great tutorial really helped as Ive been trying to make this kind of effect for ages LOLS thanks again.

  • Thanks, man! Really helped out.

  • Cheers man, this helped me out.

  • Bonjours a tous .

Merci .

  • thanks

  • love it man... thanks a lot

    good tutorial

  • Very nice simple tut making a clear example of the wanted effect.

    Good job.

  • cheers mate very very helpfull :)

  • this video is money. very helpful.

  • this shows us how to do it using automation. what if u wanted to utilize this effect live while djiing?

  • @cphoover11 I would have a 'white noise track' with a midi clip that I would trigger in the mixer window. If you have a midi controller you can then just change the frequency on the fly. Or if you use CD decks, make a CD with the rendered white noise and then you can scratch and cut it up live.

  • @eArtrash cdj white noise stab just use the pitch bend. just make it reasonably long.

  • Thank U Helped A lot

  • speak up damnit

  • @skellie14 - yes boss.

  • I am very upset with you! Uh!

  • @skellie14 check out my new tutorial, sound is fixed I think

  • hey that noise sounds awesome ! wish i could get little betta at using ableton

  • I kind of figured that this is how it'd work but for some reason I never got it to work quite as well as this. Just gave it a whirl and I guess the sidechain was the missing part (+ that VST does sound a bit more ... 'alive' than the native ableton one.) Who'da thunk those two small changes would make that much of a difference. Thanks heaps!

  • thanks so much man. ive been messing with lfos forever now not realizing its a simple side chain. haha.

  • Is Ableton Live Lite compatible with plun-ins like Melodyne, Auto-Tune, Xpand, Velvet, etc.?

  • Don't quote me on this... but the only limitations with ableton lite is the amount of MIDI and Audio tracks you can use. I know for a fact that the retail version of ableton 8 is fully compatible with 99.9% of plugins...i've had no problems anyway. :)

  • Ableton Live Lite 8-Track Recording Software VS. Pro Tools 8...

(Ableton is cheaper) What should I buy? Please answer me! :D

  • If you are planning on doing multi-session recordings, i.e - recording a band totally live (drums, guitar, vocals & bass at the same time) then i would recommend using ableton 8. I've not used pro tools, but I've heard its an awesome program...will be checking it out soon :)

  • Smart

  • Thank u so much man ive been searching all over for this 5*!!!

  • thankss!

  • yw :)

  • big help, tnx !

  • no prob :)

  • thx

  • yw :)

  • good stuff. thank you

  • YW :D

  • thanks champ another great tutorial.

    SKAG UP

  • i don't have anything ^^ thats the problem. but i tried FL studio once at my friend. nice program too

  • nice program, but i don't have it. is there anything else which is equal like this?

  • Do you have fl studio? I was thinking about making a video showing how to do this in fl studio

  • GET ABLETON!

its brilliant and so easy to use.

    and get it legally.

    worth EVERY PENNY!

  • nice.

i generally use analog but i guess its the same thing, its just a withenoise :P

  • I love operator too much, i couldnt possibly cheat on her with analog. we've been together for 5 years now, and counting.

  • haha, its a good synth. i dont like its minimalistic gui, but its a pretty decent synt.

    the envelopes are great !

  • I agree.

Ive been using Ableton since 6 and I honestly have never learnt Analog ever.

Operator is both easy to learn and capable of amazing things.

    Have you used NI Massive?

  • Simple, informative, effective, very well done congrats!

I'm happy to see that in Live 8 there's a decent white noise. In my version of Live, noise waveform does not sound good, you can hear a loop going.
