  • I've watched this film so many times but this was the first time I noticed, Dorothy's comment to Henry ("Having heard so much about you, I expected you to be much older") is exactly the same as Lorelei's first words to Piggy... so subtle and funny!

  • so you do wear it on your head xD

  • 3:00-9:00- many wonderful scenes from ONE film: (1) Marilyn and Jane don't walk, they STRUT into that dining room, all kinds of hot and gorgeous!! (2) Meeting Mr. Henry Spofford III ("old enough to appreciate a good-looking girl when I see one"), and (3) the dialogue between sassy Dorothy ("no one talks about Lorelai but me") and detective Malone ("you don't mind if I like you better, do you?") And, of course, wardrobe: Marilyn's orange gown, and Jane's spanish-style black lace at 8:03. Woof!!

  • i...must...have...that...TIARA!!!

  • Wow, Marylin Monroe is the only woman I've seen that can completely pull off orange and that right dress.

  • "I just love finding new places to wear diamonds!" love her.

  • No more sound in this clip for me. Anyone else?

  • does anyone here know where i can find a dress like the orange one Marilyn in wearing? it's gorgeous!!!

  • The only thing what i really hate about those times.. is that the FUR was just everywhere!!!!!!!! Women in the World!!! U can be beautiful without any animal killings and cruelty!!!!!!!!!

  • I read her biography and it is said that she would be haunted by "Mr. Piggy's" Zimbabwe talk, like she would keep on hearing it in her head after the shoot.

  • it annoys me when pple say that people back then didn't wear as much make-up or didnt have as much plastic surgery. its not true. Marilyn Monroe had her chin done and was a natural brunett, but the diference between films like this and most films now is that this type of film has genuine charm. Jane Russel doesn't need to overdo the whole sassy, quick-witted best friend, Marilyn doesn't need to lower her hem-line to below her tits and allude to sex so obviously its nauseating. it works without.

  • @XxSetYourselfOnFirex

I concur. Women were not somehow more beautiful in the past. Beauty tricks have existed for centuries, and they've always been especially accessible if you have money. Trust me, there were not-too-attractive women back then too, lol.

What was better back then was the quality of the films--the acting & the writing. And the fashion was much better too. I don't understand how clothes these days can cost so much and cover up so little! I mean, it is less fabric after all...

  • If only Hollywood was still like this

  • That kid is SO adorable! "Old enough to appreciate a good looking woman." and Malone is awesome! "Then I generally burst into tears. Very seldom works." "You idiot." That line made him one of my favorite guys in movies. <3

  • the 20s and 30s were one of the best times for fashion! I love how the people dress

  • A very pleasant aurevoir to you!

  • What a girl would give for men to act like this these days! lol. Gentlemen at their finest. Jane was stunning, and so was Marilyn. Thanks so much for putting this on here.

  • Wow marilyn has curves...so much hotter than these annorexic women these days that look like boys bodys. Marilyn is a real woman!!!!!!!

  • @Holly02391

Firstly, anorexia is proper illness not a simple matter of eating salad to be a size 6. Secondly, Marilyn was a real woman because she had double X chromosomes.

  • @tigereyes5 What do u mean by double XX chromosome, every women has XX or not?

  • The only miscast in this brilliant film is Eliott Ried (Malone) - totally dull and talentless.

  • I'm inlove with Ernie Malone!

(and with Jane's blue and white outfit at 9:05!)

  • lmao he's a little kid

  • was this on the queen marry?

  • I'm a hobo collector might even find a room for you... AHAHHAHAHA!

  • I love Jane Russel in this!

  • The calm, measured delivery of the kid's response at 4:47 almost veers into alternative comedy. An unexpected and brilliant touch.

  • jo no voto perque no crec amb aquesta farsa

  • les tetes de marilyn monroe son sublimes malgrat les elecion a Catalunya jo n he votat

  • 4:30 Marilyn's reaction is priceless!

  • Jane Russell has killer legs!

  • i want the clothes so bad

  • "You must think I was born yesterday!" Was it Marilyn in this movie who started the phrase that's still used today? She was a most beautiful actress.

  • God, 7:42, dat ass.

  • Only an intelligent woman could portray a dumb blonde character as well as Marilyn. :)

  • @sraphael Exactly!

  • she looks so beautiful in that last outfit she was in

  • mrs piggy is in sound of music! shes the housekeeper

  • I like Marilyn's slim figure. Her body is perfect. She looks gorgeous in that orange dress.

  • damn those girls can walk i wish i had a walk like that

  • the tiara XD "how does it look?"

  • @TardisTV1 exactly like trouble. LMAO.. =D

  • 2:27 - 2:50 LoL

  • 'Mr. Spafford' was certainly a cute catch! LOL

  • "You must think I was born yesterday!"

"Well sometimes there is just no other explanation." hahaha I adore Jane she is so funny.

  • 'i'm old enough to appreciate a good looking girl when i see one' :') smooth criminal.

  • LOL the little boy is ADORABLEEEEEEE

  • if i had a bathing suit like Jane at 9:05 i would die happy...it's just gorgeous

  • Five people don't like this clip?!.. impossible!!!

  • HOT DAMN Elliott Reid is hot in this

  • "Coupons. That's like money isn't it?"

  • i love the wit of dortheys character :)

  • "You DO wear it on your head!" She's adorable.

  • The way Marilyn Monroe walk (with red dress) n her face expression with eyes half close n the mouth open....what a wonderful woman...no other female stars can reach this quality......

  • I can't stop Laughing Marilyn's face at 4:33 when she see Henry Spartford 3rd LMFAO!!! Price less!!!

  • I love how tomboyish Jane is and how girly Marilyn is. Both of them are just GORGEOUS in this movie!!!

  • This movie put her on the map.The rest is history.

  • Marilyn was beautiful, a talented dancer and singer--but her voice and her facial expressions when she talks are so odd. I would love to see her speak normally, without the baby voice and pouty lip.

  • Thier dresses are so wonderful. Where can I buy one for my prom? Lolololol.

  • @ShawtyLikeMe2007

It's going to cost you at least 400 prob more, prom books, jovani is good, and your going to have to have it altered to you.

Yea....I went through the movie star dress lust and found the perfect Mae West dress for my prom >.<

  • wow they both have amazing waists

  • "youre mr. franklin arent you?" "are you enjoying your trip?" " dont you feel alone on a big ocean" i just adore converstaiooon !!! lmaooo

  • marilyn is gorgeous the type of girl guys want to be with and the type of girl girls want to be

  • @Antoinette1793 Maybe you'd want to be that type of girl, I certainly would not! Even though we've all heard that she only played dumb as a career move, that's what most people saw her as. I should *hate* to always be underestimated and also be seen first and foremost as a sex object.

  • Have you see this amazing video from Breton2Robert? It is called: Vibrant, Exceptional: Jane Russell

  • marilyn looks divine in that orange dress

  • Marilyn and Jane wear the most stunning dresses in this movie

  • She is the ultimate women's woman. A woman every woman wants to be. LOL. She has an amazing way of expressing emotions. Love this movie! :D

  • @Jessmira23 not really...she`s the type of girl that guys love and grl`s love to hate....personally i`d rather be either one of the hepburns or a rita hayworth

  • @fabfashionista13 That's what I meant. Women hate her for easily being what they want to be. Or instantly admire her for having an easy way of attracting men. In a way every woman wants a little bit of that. It's kind of a double sword really. :)

  • "Coupons? That's like Money isn't it?"

    bwahahaha

  • ...you DO wear it on your head!!!

  • Blue stones are simply amazing...

  • Marilyn is so beautiful .

her expressions aree so full of lust .

  • this movie is HILARIOUS... Marilyn looks and sounds full of lust everytime she speaks... facial expressions and everything... Jane Russell is ME just back in the day... same sense of humor!

  • "I just love finding new places to wear diamonds!" Lol!

  • "Well sometimes there is just no other possible explanation."

Hilarious I laughed for like an hour after hearing that.

  • I laugh every time when that little boy arrives at the table haha "this promises to be quite a trip"

  • I love Jane Russell in this movie love her sense of humor ...:)

  • OMG I want Marilyn's dress so bad!

  • @bz4kh NO WAYY I LOVE THE WAY SHE DRESSES

  • @bz4kh which one?!

  • @kmlonmaus the one where she walks in at 03:01

  • LOL 2:48 is too funny.. she's making her bracelet into a tiara..

  • well, if he was 16 or 17 you could marry him in tennessee, lol, oh marilyn, she's so funny in this movie

  • XD The little kid is sooo precious.

  • omg marilyn is just to funny in this

  • lol "no im a hobo collector, i might even find room for you" i like that actress :D

  • Well I say!!! She/Mm is a Delight!!! Super sexy classy woman!!!

  • isn't that the housekeeper from the Sound of Music? Frau Schmidt?

  • Yeah!

I watched this recently on a flight to Turkey and I noticed straight away!

  • hahaha that kid is to cute

  • she is the only woman id want to look like

  • i like marilyn's dress its so classy and glamorous

  • Lol, I love the little rich kid. :)

  • What soong is playing at 2:50 ?

  • Just love Marilyns Expression when the kid shows up, lol

  • LOL women of today are big boned and huge? where do you live? thats hilarious! u mean ya there are a few hefty women.. but women are generally more on the slender side.. with slightly wide hips of course haha.. And marilyn was VERY slim in this movie but in many of her other movies she was indeed more voluptuous and in those other movies WOULD be considered a more full figure in todays society. its not bad just the way it is. beautiful women come in all shapes & sizes.. dont hate appreciate!

  • um... I see that you're also from the United States. Half the people I see are overweight. Just take a walk down town. This is not my city, there are statistics. I actually live in a "health conscious" city, compared to other cities from other states. Do you live under a rock? How do you not know this?

  • umm i see that you're one of those snobs who think they know everything. =) i walk all the time. Yes a lot of Americans are over weight i never denied that. maybe YOU are health conscious.. who the hell are you to make assumptions about me and where i live. My family eats organic foods and at least i try to do some sort of physical activity a day. so put that in your pipe in smoke. YOU live under a rock douche bag. think about the shit you say before personally commenting on someones pov. thanks

  • lol I'm sorry to hear that. What ticked you off?

  • Lmao!!!4:11 "I just love convosation don't you?" LOL

  • they have marliyn wearing the brighter colours so she stands out more. if jane was wearing hot pink no one would be able to look away.

  • love jane russell' s sandals in 9:20 gladiators are cool=]

  • "i just LOVE finding new places to wear diamonds! ROFLMAO

  • Yay! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I too find that Marilyn had a petite, slim, toned body--especially at the height of her career (she was chubby when she was Norma Jeane). I disagree with those who said Marilyn was voluptuous and more full figured than Stars of today... which are very big boned and large.

  • Its a myth That Marilyn was a (UK) size 16, she was a size 8 at her smallest and a 12 at her largest...Never overweight. However in films like the misfits and lets make love, she was very voluptuous...not large by any means, but theres a scene in ,misfits where she has wobbly arms and a tum. It was considered beautiful and feminine in her day, but sadly would be scrutinised today...such a shame as normal women are rarely perfectly toned.

  • Totally disagree with you.

  • Why do you? Watch them!...I'd consider her as thin in this movie, by anyones standards....Just cos you dont have protruding bones doesn't mean you can't be slender Xx

  • Marilyn was very volumptuos and curvy mainly beacuse it was accepted in her day. There were others such as Jayne mansfield, Sophia Loren, Jane was too. Today everyone the average woman is a 14 and MM was an 8 and at her curviest a 14 in modern terms. To me she made being curvy sexy and having a small waist sexy even though she not only woman of her time built like that ; she's just more known for her dumb blond roles.

  • That was to the people saying that he wouldn't marry a fat woman because he doesn't want fat kids. Obviously you very stupid when it comes to science. And to statement women today r hefty and big boned because i am not plus i am very active and love my curves.

  • She's wearing a corset.

  • Do you know how sad it was that even in her certain years some thought Marylin was slightly over weight because Jackie O was a contending fashion idle.

  • @OS253 you "Refuse" to marry large women. I assume you have a stunning body, like Brad Pitt's in Fight Club? Or at least you aren't the slightest bit fat? Otherwise, you may have to aim for women within your league... unless you are a millionaire like Piggy

  • @MissusFingerBottom: Yes, I refuse to marry bloated woman. Would you want your wife to crush you when she's on top during sex? Would you like it if you have to buy two seats in airplane to accommodate her fat ass? Would like it if she breaks the chair when she sits on it? Not me. I prefer a petitie woman. Thank you.

  • @OS253 you didn't answer my question. First to have the option to choose, you got to have the qualities. Because a fat man has little right to choose a slim woman, as he's fat himself. Just like how an ugly guy has little right to make fun of an ugly woman, as he's ugly himself.

  • oh i love these dialogs

  • I used to be able to do that, years ago.

  • Lady Beekman should know better than to wear diamonds in the afternoon. It's too early to wear jewellery like that.

  • this is a good film but I'm really annoyed with the whole stereotypical dumb blonde image

  • marylin and jane are like perfect for this movie they're both beautiful and talented and it wouldnt be the same without the other!!! perfect cast..

  • i looove this movie i'v never seen it before, marilyn is just soo cute here. :) thanks for the uploading!

  • I like marylin here.. but the brunette girl dorthy ..she's really good in this movie

  • Mrs.Piggy is the woman who played in the Sound of Music.

  • nice

  • Lorelei: I've been wondering, what is your line, Mr. Malone?

Ernie Malone: My line? My most effective one is to tell a girl she has hair like a tortured midnight, lips like a red couch in an ivory palace that I'm lonely and starved for affection. Then, I generally burst into tears. It seldom works.

    hahahaha! XD

  • Great line, but how can it be his 'most effective' line and at the same time 'seldom work'? If his most effective line seldom works, he must REALLY be lonely. No wonder he bursts into tears.

  • I think after he bursts into tears, that's what makes his line seldom work. Other than that it would be very effective.

  • his other lines probably never work. that's why this one is his most effective. it seldom works but there's still a chance. :) and i personally think that he doesn't even need a line. i'd take him with or without :D

  • "How do you put it around your neck?"

"You don't lovey, it goes on your head."

"You must think I was born yesterday!"

"Well sometimes there's just no other possible explaination."

"You DO wear it on your head!"

"I just love finding new places to wear diamonds!"

    lol!
