be carefull with the love birds and smaller birds because the love birds can get a little bit nasty towards the smaller birds. i had love birds with cockatiels and the love birds picked on them so we had to seperate them.
I never my cockatiels put with finches aviary scared me because cockatiel sit on finch's basket with eggs they bother them i got cockatiels away finches alone My three cockatiel live in my house now they are happy my finches are happy now
I am so sorry you must sell your birds. It was wonderful to see them in a large aviary, where they had room to fly. People who keep birds in small cages create a health hazard for their avian pets. Without room to fly, they don't get the exercise they need -- very sad.
Oh it's been fantastic to read all of your pleasant comments! Thanks so much.
Unfortunately we're selling off all the birds so- anyone in UK who wants to buy any let me know (currently we've placed ads in the local papers and various internet websites). My dad can't take care of the birds much now due to illness and especially now with winter it's brought his spirits down and he has no motivation and desire to look after them
Yup almost all of them. The canaries, cockatiels and finches all breed each year. We haven't yet had anything from the lovebirds and I doubt we will be getting anything since one has died :( We'll have to get the remaining lovebird a partner.
Hello from over thee 'ol pond. My names Howard from Pennsylvanvia,USA . I have question. What happens to the birds when the weather gets cold ?Do you bring all of the birds in ,or do you live in a warm area? Thank you.
UK has no weather lol...in the summer it's just humid and rains randomly and its like warmish, and in winter it doesnt even snow (not where I live) and its just windy and rainy as usual, not really below freezing cold. The birds we have are not tropical and can survive in this climate.
Oh YES@ lovebirds, but only during mating season. The pair we've got are not all that bad normally. Im not sure if you can see in the video but theres a seperate smaller compartment to one side and we put the love birds in there during mating season.
My dad built it, can't you tell? lol we had this huge tree in the corner of the garden and my dads always loved birds so he thought he'd make a feature out of it and built an aviary all the way round it. The birds love it! My mum and me also helped, like painting the cage fencing and holding it up etc but my dad is a genuine handy man around the house :D
hey there =) Yeah we've actually got some GMR's and parakeets, oh and some quails and bengalese finches too now.
Yeah its usually my dad who goes in and feeds them etc but even then, for aviary birds they're very researved. If you go in to feed etc they all fly away! lol so i dont know. The GMR's we've got are quite friendly, they'll come to you when you bring food. When the weathers abit nicer im gonna go in again and take a new video =)

I would think the love birds would terrorize the finches and cockatails? the aviary is great maybe a few lower branches would be good .
