  • would not be exaggerating if I said too that this is a masterpiece and the guitar solo is absolutely delicious

  • For 14 people this is the worst of times.

  • Not the same since Dennis decided to leave. They need him back...

  • I had this album on cassette tape. I played that tape into oblivion. Thanks for posting this and all the other great Styx music!

  • As a 21 year old dude, growing up listening to my dad's tapes of Styx, Foreigner, Boston, The Cars, Heart, and Journey I still have to say the group that most influenced me was Styx. How I wish I was raised in this golden era of rock.

  • the exact same beginning as rockin the paradise?

  • I'm 14 and my first concert ever was STYX back in 2004(I think that year!) STYX was my all-time favorite group growing up and hearing all these songs bring back memories from when I was 5 years old and having a crush on Tommy Shaw from the group lmao

  • @kayleegifford10 I saw them last summer, man classically beautiful. Can't wait til the next one! P.S. I'm 18, and my first concert was REO speedwagon in 2002.

  • Thumbs up if you heard this in Hall Pass!

  • i dislike the people who dislike styx, areosmith, the who, AC/DC. justin beber go fu*k your self.

  • It ain't for nuthin to write songs people love their whole life--my Roseland homies--STYX!

  • There are two kinds of fools. The first kind says ''This is old and therefore, good.'' The second kind says ''This is new and therefore, better.'' I say, this is Styx and therefore, suck it.

  • My class of '82 graduation song!!!

  • thumbs up if Big Daddy brought you here

  • Saw these guys in concert in 81 Aug 3rd in Halifax NS....me and my wineskin and a few pals...what a night that was...real lighters too...:D

  • i love to slip into my car late at night and blast this song.... great times

  • Oh my God! justin bieber eat your mistletoe heart out..man piece of shit!

  • 14 people are having some shitty times.

  • @MelodicMantra Can't say I blame them, 2011 was a bad year for people.

  • Incredible voice!!

  • Love The Scene Where Jason Sudeikis Jacking Himself Off!

  • 14 people are tone-deaf

  • Now all I need is my fully loaded Honda Odyssey Touring Edition!

  • Hall Pass masturbate song! haha

  • These are the best,

    OF TIMESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    Favorite part ^

  • the best of songs.

  • @80sMetallion He was looking for a Justin Bieber vid dude, lighten up! Light up Everybody!

    Whoa...Spellcheck doesn't even like Bieber!

  • @80sMetallion i want to know the 14 idiots who pressed the dislike button...

  • My first experience of hearing this classic was on 8 track in the summer of 1983. Then a neighbor gave me his vinyl copy and wore out the LP. Then over a year later, my oldest sister squashed my copy by sitting on it accidentally. Two days later, I got this classic on cassette tape after going to visit Santa Claus at the mall. Made a beeline to Musicsmith and there it was. My father paid $7 for the tape and I wore it out. Then I've gone through countless copies of this classic (I'm 35 now).

  • For you, Kenny....

  • They are right, these are the worst of times...

  • We did a styx show for marching band and this was our closing song

  • I remember my mom being a huge Styx fan. We would listen to our copy of the "Best Of" album in our car, singing at the top of our lungs. She would tell me about her "Paradise Theatre" album from when she was a teen and I would yearn to listen to it. It was my 8th or 9th birthday and she handed me a small square package. I opened it up greedily and there was my very own cassette of "Paradise Theatre". I got so excited that I ran out of energy and took a nap nearly all day.

  • @HarpsichordHime

I remember just staring at the album art and being completely mystified. Then, one day, we left the tape in the car and it was really hot out. The tape warped and I couldn't listen to it anymore. I was devastated. Mom said she would try to get me a new one, but the first one was really hard to find, anyway. She never did find one, and she ended up passing away when I was 11. Just a couple months ago, I was at a yard sale and found a copy of "Paradise Theatre".

  • @HarpsichordHime That was a sign from Heaven. She was trying to give you back what was lost. You're so lucky!

  • such a classic...love it..wish they made this type of music now...born in the wrong music era..<3

  • Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime. We'll take the best forget the rest and someday we'll find THESE ARE THE BEST OF TIMES

  • Tonight's the night we'll make history, honey, you and I cuz I'll take any risk to tie back the hands of time and stay with you here tonight. I know you feel these are the worst of times, I do believe it's true. When people lock their doors and hide inside. Rumor has it it's the end of Paradise. But I know, if the world just passed us by, baby I know, i wouldn't have to cry, no, no. THE BEST OF TIMES are when I'm alone with you. Some rain some shine, we'll make this a world for two.

  • Still have the album with the design etched in... In great condition, too!

  • Now hang on a second here...I see no reason...at all ...to be callin -who ever DID hit the dis-like butten --a ass hole or a dip shit.....

Lackinkg in taste maybe....maybe a real young man ...who has no idea what a classic this is ....or he--she--,may not even be aware who the band called Styxs IS even ..

And to who ever DID hit that butten,,,,its my honest hope that you ..give the music a chance ..

    Thank you

  • w0w.!

  • @80sMetallion It was probablyan accident...

  • maybe the people who disliked have a bad taste in music? maybe they think we have a bad taste in music? but of course they are wrong and we are right

  • 4 dipshits....tsk tsk tsk... :/

  • Steven Almond brought me here.

  • Wow, a bunch of idiots arguing politics. Republicans and Democrats are mostly the same. Both have spent way too much on their "intrests." Democrats buy votes from the poor while not really doing anything to advance them. Republicans buy votes from the rich by cutting tax more than they do for the middle class. No difference between the 2 besides who the pay off to get votes. We are getting screwed and all you can see is the Repubs and Dems side. THE SAME SIDE! Vote libertarian, communist whatev

  • I recall this one being on the charts in June of 1981

  • @LeChevalierNoir4474 Honestly I'd LOVE to see you do half a goodjob as he did, oh wait this is teh internetz ane1 cn b aneting

  • @Megaarrowshot As for heath care, Obama blew it fooling around with that when he should have been putting people back to work. He also appeases Reps. Not that we do not need some reform, we do. As far as Reagan-Bush doing a "good Job" you apparently don't remember the demise of the Savings & Loans and the troubles the RTC had in recovering on the bad loans, Junk Bonds, Leveraged By-outs, Milken, Keating, etc. --all caused by the Republican orgy of deregulation. I hate their guts, all of them!

  • @80sMetallion I hope them to die.

  • @80sMetallion I'm swear that certain people must just go around and dislike all the videos they find.

  • I photographed Styx in 77. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • How can you dislike this song? It's one of the BEST songs from the 80's and the band Styx. They were the best of times even if we did not know it back then...

  • The Best of Times, the best of songs...

  • STYX and the BEST OF TIMES. A true statement in a decade of lies

  • Comment removed

  • The 80's were indeed a decade of lies. Mr. Reagan told us we would not pile debt upon debt for the convenience of the present to the determent of the future. But this is just what he, his Republican cohorts and successors did. Most of the debt the Republicans whine about now was caused by them! The American People are now poised to give them full control again. I see a depression which will make 1931 look like a Sunday School Picnic!

  • @LeChevalierNoir4474 Shut up and listen to the music

  • @Megaarrowshot oompa oompa, stick it up your joompa!

  • @LeChevalierNoir4474 Don't talk debt, Obama has spent 800 BILLION already and now is pushing for a new one (don't remember off the top-o'-me-head), Now he has cut about 900 billion in tax, so right now we are looking and EXTREME deficit spending, don't get me started on Health-care _I'm a doctor_ I usually consider myself a independent because I believe in some R and some D but right now I just want that guy OUT. As for the depression I would not compare it to the Great Depression, tat's silly

  • @Megaarrowshot $800 Bill?! Ronnie baby-$1.3 trillion with tax breaks to the rich. Daddy Bush-- another $1.5 Trillion and Dubya$6 Trillion. Don't compare to a depression?! In the 1930's unemployment was 20%. In California 13% and some places, 15%--i've been on this world for nearly seven decades and have never seen anything like this-not in 57, not in 74, not in 81, not in 89-ever! Unlike most of you I do not have a short memory. the Republicans are liars on everything and NO DAMN GOOD!

  • doing a styx show for marching band, this is our closer

  • The last song in our Paradise Theater show for marching season this year! :D

  • THREE people..didnt have the BEST of times....love this song...memories <3

  • @80sMetallion Maybe they pushed on accident because I can't imagine who wouldn't absolutely love this song.

If they didn't, then you're right they are a dipshit, asshole. I'm just sayin'.

  • Seeing STYX tonight!

  • STYX Rock .

  • Big Daddy

  • This is an example of GOOD music. Not the junk they push today...

    Thanks StyxFan93 for posting!

  • Nothing but good memories of an old friend who is no longer with us. I cry every time I hear this song - and yet, I still play it. Miss you Joe.

  • Seeing them this summer ! Soooo excited !!!!!!!!

  • Excellent group of brothers. God Bless the Music of the World.

  • @80sMetallion The human being that pushed the dislike button has no taste at all and besides and has never been en-loved. Poor Guy/Gal.

  • This whole album is excellent I still have my original vinyl copy with the paradise theatre on the vinyl on the b side..I love it still

  • Hall pass, thumbs up!!

  • im kill 1 person (you know who you are)

  • My 8th grade graduation song! lol

  • This was the my first "hit song" to make me go..."Whoa put the tape recorder against the radio." Not showing my age at all am I? :-)

  • One of the best ballads ever written in my opinion..as for that 1 moron that disliked, he obviously doesnt have good times

  • One of the best ballads ever written in my opinion

  • They should have called this song,"the best,of the best!,Stay thirsty my friends!

  • Ahh good times.... I love my mini van.

  • Styx had some AWESOME hits. Best of Times, Too Much Time on My Hands, Come Sail Away, and my favorite of them all the unforgettable Mr. Roboto! Thank you guys for making great music.

  • This song takes me back as a kid, in the 70's steeling my moms joint listening to this falling asleep

  • My Aunt, by marriage, was the niece to the owner of The Paradise Theatre....she remembers and so did my father when they tore that theatre down...

  • STYX---"2011-2100 THE BEST OF TIMES"

  • I have 16 and I feel in love when i listen to this ...

  • They got in and got out with their message in 4:24! (Songwriting is a lost art)

  • thank the beatles for this one, as this definitely has their influence shown throughout. and then naturally styx being the awesome band they are made it their own!

  • This was my old HS girlfriend and my song-really takes me back. Styx was incredible-not just one great vocalist, but two. Not a lot of bands can make that claim, but they were so much more.

  • @detroitlionssuckbig Actually 3, Dennis, Tommy, and JY :)

  • @detroitlionssuckbig i wish dennis would get back with the band..i would die to see the full band live.

  • @detroitlionssuckbig I have also those feelings you keep but I try hard to hide them !!!

    Too painful to remember.....

  • @detroitlionssuckbig - Good taste, good tune! This was our High School graduation song in 1984! :)
