Admittedly, some Imams instill fear of the Western ideologies, a lot of this on Saudi tvs and perhaps Mosques, and to a lower but noticeable degree in Europe. Wow, either you haven't read Mark Steyn's article or you don't see a problem with using facts to create a stereotype of a people. He is correct about declining fertility rates of European countries. I love how he states the fertility rate of Muslim countries and draws this conclusion, 'Youth + Will = Disaster for whoever gets in your way.' I could easily say 'youth + will = progress'

Point# 3. It doesn't take a psychologist to figure out that Mark's article is prejudice laden. He used exclusive facts to instill fear, reminds me of the nazi propaganda. I'm torn on this... On the one hand, Steyn is bringing some much-needed attention to this issue; on the other hand, he's a disgusting neo-con stooge. The guy makes it sound as though Muslims were the numero uno threat to Canadians' free speech; the reality is that Jewish organizations have been using these laws and tribunals *for years* to stifle free expression in Canada, and were the biggest promoters of this parallel legal system.

Is a woman likely to be in a steel mill or construction site? No. Is a man likely to be knitting sweaters? No. Many CEO's are men, and a majority of the secretarys are woman. Woman and men have been doing the same type of jobs for... what 4000 years? Just now you HAVE the option to go become something different, doesn't mean many woman will.
Men and women are the products of cultural programming. I can't think of one ability that is unique to one sex only. I know this woman who, some 25 years ago, wanted to drive a fork truck. All the guys teased and ridiculed her, but over the course of time attitudes changed. Today, in that company, most of the fork truck drivers are women. The growth of consiousness is piecemeal.
Driving a fork lift is nothing new, hell my friend's mom does that. Ex. supporting my cause, no woman are in the infantry in the U.S. army, they can drive trucks, be support, but cannot be the boot on the ground. Another Ex. a high majority of nurses are woman, and have been woman for the last 100+ years. The gender roles are still the same, just a little modified.
My point is that fork truck driving was once considered man's work, like airplane piloting, mail delivering, bus driving, and news broadcasting. These modifications will come in bits and pieces until it reaches a point where gender roles bear little resemblance to previous times.
I rarely ever see a "mailwoman". But those positions did not NEED a male to do them. Does it take a man to stand on a TV and read off of a telepromter.. no. Does it take a man to drive a bus? Also, many pilots are still men today because men are typically aggressive. All I'm saying is woman and men have their roles in society. Woman are not the aggressers(normally) and will still take passive jobs. Like being a secretary or a nurse.
Here in New Hampshire, mailwomen abound. I have no qualms about men and women preferring certain courses in life, as long as options are maximized and remain open.

Admittedly, some Imams instill fear of the Western ideologies, a lot of this on Saudi tvs and perhaps Mosques, and to a lower but noticeable degree in Europe. Wow, either you haven't read Mark Steyn's article or you don't see a problem with using facts to create a stereotype of a people. He is correct about declining fertility rates of European countries. I love how he states the fertility rate of Muslim countries and draws this conclusion, 'Youth + Will = Disaster for whoever gets in your way.' I could easily say 'youth + will = progress'
Now, If you don't see a problem with how he gets from A to B then I don't know why we're having this argument.

Point# 3. It doesn't take a psychologist to figure out that Mark's article is prejudice laden. He used exclusive facts to instill fear, reminds me of the nazi propaganda. Its called an illusory correlation, the media feeds on this phenomenon, makes the story more newsworthy (look up Hamilton and Gifford's experiment)

It was a bad move on the part of Maclean to deny the request for a rebuttal. If it is about FREE SPEECH, why not let the Muslims have a word too?

I'm torn on this... On the one hand, Steyn is bringing some much-needed attention to this issue; on the other hand, he's a disgusting neo-con stooge. The guy makes it sound as though Muslims were the numero uno threat to Canadians' free speech; the reality is that Jewish organizations have been using these laws and tribunals *for years* to stifle free expression in Canada, and were the biggest promoters of this parallel legal system.

Steyn does quote real statistics - not fake ones - but he is highly selective in what he chooses to report and then leaps to outrageous conclusions. He is guilty of non sequitur. So it's not a questions of "which of his stats" but how he has chosen to MISUSE statistics to add a facade of legitimacy to what are in fact some extremely old-fashioned (19th century!) style of argument about the competition between "races".

Men and women are the products of cultural programming. I can't think of one ability that is unique to one sex only. I know this woman who, some 25 years ago, wanted to drive a fork truck. All the guys teased and ridiculed her, but over the course of time attitudes changed. Today, in that company, most of the fork truck drivers are women. The growth of consiousness is piecemeal.

Ex. supporting my cause, no woman are in the infantry in the U.S. army, they can drive trucks, be support, but cannot be the boot on the ground. Another Ex. a high majority of nurses are woman, and have been woman for the last 100+ years. The gender roles are still the same, just a little modified.

I rarely ever see a "mailwoman". But those positions did not NEED a male to do them. Does it take a man to stand on a TV and read off of a telepromter.. no. Does it take a man to drive a bus? Also, many pilots are still men today because men are typically aggressive. All I'm saying is woman and men have their roles in society. Woman are not the aggressers(normally) and will still take passive jobs. Like being a secretary or a nurse.

A man on food stamps? About two months ago. Just a few blocks from where I live is a shelter for homeless veterans. This man and I knew each other for years before he lost everything he had because of severe depression and other circumstance. He comes and visits now and then. I don't know ANYONE on welfare, let alone women.
One observation I read in Poor Richard's Almanac by Benjamin Franklin: "It's the wheel that squeaks that gets the grease." Of course, that could be for better or worse.

What the hell is going on in Canada, have they become a Communist country, now they're banning books and have "human rights tribunals"?? We are going to lose our Freedom of Speech in America if we elect B. Hussein Obama, WAKE UP AMERICA, WE ARE GOING TO LOSE OUR COUNTRY TO THESE P.C. POLICE. No one is paying attention.
