I saw this interview and Charlie quoted from Woody Allen who said Chris Rock is one of the greatest comics of the 90's and 00's. So I think that's why Woody gave Chris that autograph photo for his birthday. I know Chris tries to leave him alone but they hang out at the damn Knicks game. They sound like friends to me.
