Thank you for sharing this- we saw it in a presentation at medical school... you're helping teach future doctors with just one youtube post (technology... wow).
NIce that the artery tolerates this stretch. Of course, one wonders why it doesn't stretch with all that blood pressure without the stent...now, if there is some heart damage, one wonders just what proteins, enzymes, etc. would be good to be eating to help rebuild the heart, or course with exercise, etc. One also wonders what keeps the stent in position...once again, with all that blood pressure....Plus one more thing...what about the time that the balloon cuts off the flow?
Feel free to use them as you like. I only ask that you send me a message (or post a comment) letting me know how/where you're using them. Thanks, Scott
I am a student trying to obtain a small amount of angiogram and echo footage (legally and ethically!) and it is proving rather difficult. I was wondering how you would feel about this video being used in a project I am currently undertaking as it is a perfect example of what I need.
I would be very keen to talk to you further in regards to this :)
can any one tell me how to upload an angiogram video file. on youtube. i have a recorded angiogram on cd, but the file has no extension and is not of a video format (mpg/ avi ..) .
@271SHN You need to convert it to something YouTube can understand. Will it open with the likes of Windows Media or Real Player? VLC? See if it opens with one of them. If one of them open it, you can add the extension proper to the file type and it will upload just fine.
Wanted to answer some question for people out here.
They don't do general anesthia, aka "put you under" for heart catherizations because there is more danger to the patient: Why, you might ask. General anesthia requires intubation (ventilator assistance) and is higher risk as opposed to conscious sedation.
Will you fell anything? Maybe a pinch (lidocaine administration) no worse than an IV. You might feel a little pressure while they are getting access.
Does somebody know how can i find the rights' owner of this shot? i would like to buy the royalties to use some seconds of this shot in a documentary film. Do you have a better resolution than 360p?
good looking arteries. this is a good video for anyone that is learning coronary anatomy. Some nice shots of the posterior descending, LAD, and circumflex artery. Thanks for posting this Scott.
I did this last night, and a biopsy aswell where they cut 4 small pieces of my heart! They went in through my neck and wrist, felt pretty weird when they yanked the pieces out! But also a kinda neat experience seing ones own heart pieces in a tube! Last time it felt like my heart would come out to, and when they touched the heart it sometimes skipped a beat wich also felt kinda strange!
That's crazy, your name is Scott in the description box and my name is Scott too, and I have to get a Double Cardiac Catheterization done on February 16, 2010. It sucks. I only have to be under partial anesthesia.
I just sent you a personal message to your you tube inbox because I didn't have enough room with the information I wanted to give you. You don't feel anything and it doesn't hurt. You'll be all good. But check your inbox.
It's my heart so I hope there isn't a leak. :-)
No, they said everything looked fine.

what symptoms prompted them to give you a cardiac cath? Had they done other tests that indicated you had a blockage?

The LV is fine. You don't need a lot of dye to see it's normal. If you need more get an echo.
