  • Here is a man who loves his music, and knows his electronics!!!

  • I would love to get some schematics for this. I might be willing to pay some money for them. PM me.

  • @Phillzzy Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately I'm not able to sell or share schematics for these designs. I'm happy to build and sell hardware though...

    I'm sure you'll understand. Cheers.

  • @abstractjuz I have just buy one. do you have a website or a forum I can join. thanks

  • @flightcase69 Hi, I only built one of these models so there isn't a dedicated forum. If you have questions - you're welcome to contact me via my website (link is on the front page of this channel) and I'll see if I can help. Cheers.

  • totally awesome, nice work!

  • Cheers Alex - glad you like her!

  • This box kicks ass!

  • Thanks for the comment - appreciated.

  • i pay you $200 quit for this. PM me if interested

  • Hey rockangel - I've PM'd you.

    Cheers! J

  • sweet!! can you please tell me how to learn to build the sync circuit? are you sending a simple 4/4 bass drum to the audio in and it is detecting the beat and clocking at the same BPM? how does the circuit work? I would love to build such a circuit to clock a 555 driving a counter chip type sequencer. thanks for any tips!! cool synth

  • Thanks for the comment - I've PM'd you an answer to this. You're on the right track - hope my answer helps.

Oh - I did say it was early here right? ;)

  • hey, does all the sounds come from the box?

It seems a little small for all those sounds (considering its analog), or have you found a smart way of polyphony,

    yeah, whats going on really?

(hoping for an answer as this were reaally goood :D)

  • Hey - thanks for the comment.

The beats are from a sequencer - everything else you hear is from inside that box. No effects, no processing.

There's two oscillators - each oscillator puts out two waveforms - so that's like having two doubled notes at a time. Not polyphony - but enough for loads of big sounds.

    Cheers! J

  • Impressed and then some. I wouldn't know where the hell to start with something like this. Do you know where i could find a vero schematic of a step sequence using a decades counter? And possibly how to implement this in an audio project. It's something i've wanted to do for ages but beyond my steadily growing number of bending tricks my knowledge doesn't really stretch too far.

5 stars here. Not only is this impressive to see as a diy project. It actually sounds good too.

  • Hey becomingzero, thanks for the comment - much appreciated.

For sequencing, read up on the 4051, 4052 and 4053 CMOS chips. You can use a 555 timer as a 'clock' to drive them. Easy to use - loads of fun.

Start small and simple, get to know the 555 - work your way up from there!

    Cheers! J

  • Thanks. I've learned a lot about the 555 and think i might just be just about to get a sequencer of sorts running.

I'd love one of these things to get my ms20 singing and dancing with :)

  • Thanks again for the info. I've spent the last month or so tinkering and once you get your head around this stuff the results are more than satisfying. Really appreciate the pointers. Cheers.

  • Hey - not a problem. Glad to hear you're getting things done.

    Cheers!

  • Have you considered selling the circuit diagrams and using these vidz to advertie them? If so - how much?

  • Hello, I do sell the synths I build - but not the schematics (sorry!). All the synths on this channel have been sold - but there will be more builds for sale in the future. Thanks for the comment!

    J

  • Hi there,

    Very nice synth !

What chip/schematic are you using for the pattern generators ?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  • Hey Jim, thanks for the comment.

This is all my own design - but the pattern generators are based around the 4051, 2 and 3, some simple logic and a square wave oscillator for the 'clock'.

    J

  • Ah yes,

Those are the chips that I had in mind.

I'm thinking about building some stuff

    myself.

Maybe some nice stuff like yours.

Keep up the nice work !!!

    Jim
