According to the wiki page for this game, it was a parody and a "prequel" to the original Splatterhouse. It also turns out at the very end of this game that it was all just a horror movie. It wasn't to insult the series like some people have stated. Think of it like a Weird Al song.

This game is brilliant. I remember when I first saw the artwork for it, thinking "Oh god, they had to release a stupid cartoony version of the game to be family friendly". Then I played it and saw it for the hilarious parody that it is. I almost died laughing when I first got to the end of the Alien spoof.

Gotta love the Engrish in this game too. "BE GARBAGE OF CESSPOOL HA HA HA"

This was a Splatterhouse game released only in Japan. It was called Splatterhouse: Naughty Graffiti. It was made cutesy to steal appeal to both fans and the people that hated the graphic violence of the first game.

I also loved the mini glowing mask at the end of the video SP3 ruled and I noticed how many times rick jumps it was funny in a way because of the speed up it looks like he has to go to the bathroom.
