@willj960 Than get one. They aren't that crazy expensive. And if you think about how long you will have it, the thing pays for itself. I'm ashamed to say my first computer I bought was an HP in 2006. By 2007, I needed a new computer because it was so slow and got a virus. Crashed my HD and everything. Got a second PC, a gaming one. The mother board fried on it. Then I bought a Macbook Pro. Never going back. It will last at least 5 years with no worries of viruses or ANYTHING. It works

Excuses. Save and you'll be plenty impressed for performance & build quality: especially with Ion (NVidia 9400M). Yes the 8600 Intel C2D and 9400M is dated on paper - but its still worthy for just about a lot of work you'll use it for. Gaming is the only place you'll want the 9600GT chipset.

@Thegamer5150 They pay for themselves man. You don't have to worry about buying another computer for at least 5 years.  People are still using the ibook g3 and g4 today. Those computers are almost 10 years old! Sure, they won't turn too many heads, but they do perform.

I dont see how a single block of aluminum is lighter than two parts of plastic. And how is a multi-part enclosure increase failure? Are they struggling to justify their unibody enclosure design? Sure it looks good but thats just about it

multiple parts (undercarriage) increases chance of failure over the life of the product & especially during manufacturing (size variances and fit & finish); along with repair costs during 3yr Apple Care extension!! And there is a 2 fold benefit for Apple: cash injections from gov't for less energy use in production & shipping and less environmental waste! Dell with Adamo & Vostro laptop lineups have begun to follow suit. MacBook Pro of 2007 is 1-2lb heavier for 15"/17" vs same model of 2008.

Its a shame apple doesn't support Hybrid-SLI, otherwise you could use BOTH the graphics chips at once instead of one at a time. maybe a future software update will allow this, heres hoping.
