  • I've never liked drum solos, but this one is just amazing

  • whaooooouuuuuhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

  • holy fuck, drum solo !

  • go carlos!

  • THIS! IS BAD ASS!!!

  • This is timeless and we will remeber for ever! Stop talking about today musicans and pussys ... who cares? Enjoy santana and ignore all the shit out there.

  • ja man ein traum

  • Santana? Who the heck is Santana?

Shrieve overshadowed him. That sentence means more than millions of words.

  • That's a shitty deal man. NO SALE. I'll keep the Greats and you keep the CRAP Hehehehe.

  • santana tore it up right here! might i add that the band was trippin'their socks off.but then again so were many dosed up.carlos smokes on guitar!

  • Good times!!

  • I'd pay every dime I have to keep this non stop. Thumbs up if you agree

  • They never sounded better!

  • i was just thinking at this. Woodstock, 2019, wate me!

  • @megaLiberazione There might be a Woodstock 2019, but you will have to pay $5000 for a ticket, and you will be surrounded by privileged suburbanites who are happy to pay $50 for a bottle of water. Not to mention the AMAZING talent, I can only imagine what will evolve from Lady Gaga and Britney Spears and LMFAO. Woodstock 2019!!! Featuring today's greatest artists including: We suck, I am a gimmick, and the #1 artist of the year- I don't know how to play an instrument so I use a computer!

  • @Johnnyblazedanketch My Morning Jacket would headline woodstock 2019 lol

  • @Johnnyblazedanketch coulnt have said it better

  • @Johnnyblazedanketch Not if 500,000 people decide to crash the party like the original sounds like a plan?

  • @lee8264 Look at the bands I listed that will be playing in 2019. Do you want to crash that party? Besides something that big in 2019 would be televised for advertising space to be sold, a marketing scam to make money off the simple minds of America's youth. Today's artists do not inspire. There are no musicians, there are only contractors. There are a lot of people who are responsible for making a product, and the band is merely an instrument of today's music industry.

  • @Johnnyblazedanketch Dude that is the whole idea ruin the party so the original idea will prevail peace love and understanding i read your comment this is anti woodstock so ruin the party for big bizness,I was old enough to go to first woodstock just wish that one of my older sisters would have dragged me along for the ride peac Lee

  • My mind is blown once again

  • After watching this, I feel like there is not much hope that we will EVER hear a musical performance with the amount of power, brilliance, or dedication to music that these men put forth on that stage on that day.

  • Según me comentaron el baterista que toco con santana tenía 15 años de edad. The drummer was 15 years old.

  • @Aljuarismi71 en ese momento tenia 19 años, pero fue el mejor baterista del recital... He had 19 years old

  • that damn feedback...

  • i seen Sanatana 3 times now lookin forward to a 4th. First time was with Grateful Dead Tacoma dome 88

  • I was there as a twenty one year old. It was not that much fun except for the people watching, and on the last morning, after many had left, hearing Hendrix play The Star Spangled Banner. Of course, it has been useful conversation fodder for these many years.

  • esto ,esto ..es Historico!! Viva mi America latina!!

I was Born in 1970. I can give my life for these moments.

  • @drsumantr Im a little dot two thirds up the hill on the left.

  • Even though they've released more from the original Woodstock movie and LP, I wish they'f just put out the rest of it. So much great music still in the can.

  • Yeah, it was me... I was one of the few who disliked Woodstock. I felt it was too commercial, the acts were too corporately owned, and I can't tell my ass from a hole in the ground. Next Question...

  • Michael Shrieve said the drums he played at Woodstock were the same ones he played in his parents' basement before he got the gig with Santana.

  • I'm pretty sure anybody who died at Woodstock died because they were on acid when this song came up and it liquefied their brains.

  • You don't need to smoke shit to get high on this one! F***ing great!

  • Hey People ..The great Drummer is GRAHAM LEAR..Also played with GINO VANELLI

  • I was 7 years old at this time...oh how I wish I was born at least 10 years earlier (though I would be 60 now)...only for the soul purpose of hitching a ride to woodstock...vs...my real life at age 17 like "That 70's Show" but at least I was listening to Santana and the rest of the greats that came out of the 60's, while sitting in a basement with my friends. ;-) Was the drummer really 17...he was "Hot"!!...;-)

  • Lets go 2019 ;)

  • What kind of amp is Carlos playing through here?

  • @1971SuperLead Orange Tiny Terror or a Two Rock John Mayer Signature =P hehehehe

  • @1971SuperLead

I think he is using a shirt-lived Gibson badged Les Paul amp, solid state, big cab.

  • @jimashtube Gallien-Krueger came into the limelight in 1969 when founder Bob Gallien's GMT 226A amp appeared at Woodstock with Carlos Santana.

  • @1971SuperLead

Cool Thanks. I knew it was Solid State.

It really looks like the rare Les Paul amp. Maybe GK built them or something.

    You can see the resemblance.

  • @1971SuperLead

Cool Thanks, It really looks like one of the Les Paul Amps. But I can see now that it isn't. Very similar. Perhaps GK built the Gibson amps ?

    A really good sound.

  • @jimashtube Visit the Gallien Krueger website and there they say that Bob built the amp in his garage at home and that Carlos bought it. It was seriel number 6! He only built 150 or so of these heads. Try and find one! Yes! The sound is amazing and it's completely solid state!!!!

  • @jimashtube The G-K GMT 226a was also known as the Spaceship head because of it's bizarre shape.

  • @1971SuperLead

Here is a pic of the pre-amp head of a LEs Paul amp .

I have seen some close up and those had the tilted face and colored lights and a big 4/12. Very similar amps.

  • Darn Youtube won't let me post a link.

Suffice to say it was very similar with colored lights

And the head was just a preamp, the power amp was in the 4/12 cab.

    Extremely similar.

Anyway thanks for the info. And What a Sound !

  • @jimashtube Really? A pic? Where?

  • @1971SuperLead

Darn thing won't let me post links so I am going to mess with the links a bit.

    0rigami(dot)com/gg/other.html

  • Woodstock had it all, I would wish just once in my life to experience spmething like that. This song like so many others from Woodstock just never, and never, and never seems boring :)

  • historical note: The band was supposed to play later in the day, so they popped a few tabs of LSD, thinking they had hours to "come down". As the legend goes one of the acts cancelled and Santana had to go on in twenty minutes! One of the truly great performances of Woodstock.

  • @philmoore666 I heard it was mescaline.

  • Never gets boring

  • great ... excellent ...

  • dude on the drums is a beast

  • 12 persone non capiscono un cazzo.

  • Michael Schrieve on the drums !

This song is a way for Carlos Santana to show his origins ! WONDERFUUUULLLL !!!
