@Killerguppy Finally, someone who isn't a complete fool. The ruling elite tries to divide us; White, Black, Hispanic, and Indian among others. Divided we are nothing. The fact is we are all workers. The vast majority of us have to get up in the morning and go to work to support ourselves and our families. Now is the time to band together and be heard. There is no Black/White/Hispanic, it is just a ruse to confuse the most ignorant of us to fight for the 1% instead of against them.
@Tw4tz0r Rise up again indeed, but no more will whites be fighting your battles, nor will it be for a white south. The Hispanics indeed will rise, give them another 200 000 and they could easily put up a fight against the North.
@killerguppy Whilst the Hispanic portion of America is growing strong, I dont think they could match the power of the White North. Plus I believe that America shouldnt be fighting on racial grounds but instead fighting for the freedom of all men (white/black/hispanic etc). At the end of the day the ruling elite dont care what colour/creed you are, in their eyes we are all filth to ruled over.
I don't care if you were with the Union or Confederacy. We all lost loved ones in this bloody gruesome struggle for the rights of man.... it is a terrible thing when my great great grand fathers brother turned to him on the battle field and shot him in the back... but none of those brave men died in vain.. War just brings out the worst in men, makes us monster...
This was an inevitable war- not because of 'hot blooded men'- but because of our Founding Fathers. Because they needed unity among the states before, during, and after the Revolutionary War, they accepted slavery in the constitution in order to appease the Southern States whose economy depended on it. Basically, the Founding Fathers put the issue of slavery off until later, for another generation to handle. This war was not a surprise to anyone. It was seen by many on both sides as inevitable.
I don't believe for a minute it was a 'war between the states'. Yes, by definition, it was a war between states, but it was really a war between the constituted legitimate Federal Republic, and the ambitious, hot-blooded men who challenged its authority.
I'm a southern boy born and raised in Tennessee, and I love the South, but I love the country and our flag more. If I had lived during the Civil War I would have chosen to save the Stars and Stripes and not seceed.
@Tw4tz0r Those two things don't conflict. A nation can be both democratic and rebels. For example the first government of the US (continental congress) was elected, but the US was also a rebel against Britain.
God Bless these United States of America and FUCK the Confederate States of America. Thank goodness those country rebel hillbillies lost the war and keep the blacks segregated.
Thank you for this version. I saw part of the documentary tonight. They are running the Ken Burns Civil War again on PBS and I wanted to hear this wonderful version again. Thank you. It's ironic that I learned this as a church hymn and didn't realize the Civil War aspect until I was in Junior High School. It is a wonderful song no matter where you live.
@PapagenoJuan2 I doubt that very seriously...it wasn't meant for them to win and keep people in bondage..God knew what he was doing that which he allowed to happen..the North to win to preserve the union

The Confederate States of America was a democratically elected nation. They weren't "rebels".
Just want to point that out.
