it's there, but he's using a lot of reverb when the sound should be dry (and probably should have less bass either on the output signal or on the distortion pedal's filter if it has one)

Steve Vai, and I have to say the guitar is probably the most responsive guitar I have owned. Having 24 frets is a bonus especially if you are going to learn some of the Vai Satch and Petrucci stuff. However, I love my Gibson SG!

Good, but Ibanezes are easy to play... try those 1 and 1/2 steps bends on a Strat with 10's...

How weird you use the SG for comf numb , the Strat for Stairway to Heaven , and now this guitar not sure what it is either a Jackson or Ibanez but anyways interesting selection for the songs. I would of thought you would prefer the Strat for most Floyd Songs just because of the clean sound. I'd be interested in your opinion , I'm looking to get a Strat myself mainly because of idolizing David Gilmour's sound , but looks like you can do it with anything. Whats your secret?
