First there is no place to fill your tank. If you have a compressor at home it costs $6000.00. A conversion costs $5000.00. Just watched a documentary called "Who Killed the Electric Car?" Pretty pissed that it's taken so long for the electric car to make a comeback. However when oil companies stand to lose billions of dollars, it's understandable why they would do everything in their power to keep electric vehicles off the road. Consumers are also to blame. We've been complacent with fuel prices and have not demanded an alternative to gasoline. Screw Hybrids - give me an electric car!!!

The air car is the best option, it doesnt need expensive batteries that need replacement or 12-24 hour charges. It takes a few minuted to compress the air and runs 200 miles before needing to be compressed. The full electric vehicle can only drive 40 miles total. The combo still uses gas, and hydro (water) and electric.

How come no ones talking bout the air car?

Lets accept your number of 40,000 dead birds. So, if they raise the number of turbines 100 or 1,000 times or 10,000 times to keep up with energy demands as you pr Pickens suggests, then do the math. The Audubon Society will hang this up in court forever. And, insects will have no enemies and disease will spread and crops will die. Or, you will have to raise the amount of pesticides dramatically causing other problems, which isnt acceptable. Boone, solve the turbine/bird problem. Get back to me

Several more things to consider. 1) The newer turbines are much taller than the ones on Altamonte pass that is setting some of this history. The birds don't fly high enough to get into the path of the blades. 2) The larger blades move slower than the smaller ones 3) The migratory birds fly along the mountain chains and not the plains. So I doubt a mass slaughter will occur.
