Myself, I make my own weapons similar to how they make them in this video, and they look relatively unrealistic, but still of good quality. I (and the weapons) am treated the same way as I was when I made mine out of pipe insulation foam. Dear lord, that was, what, five years ago?...

as an outsider, I see the weapons being made here as practical for a gaming style that relies a certain amount on imagination. I think it's really cool that they've got a system that makes the weapons able to be produced rapidly and be used heavily. while there are other solutions to make the pieces more aesthetically pleasing, there's no reason to do so if the main focus is on the usability. why people think everything has to be just like the way they personally like to go is beyond me.

These weapons do not look to be very effective for stabbing with the bending of the blade, I myself prefer not to use sheets of foam, instead I use piping foam and childrens foam swords for the edges. It is very sturdy and does not bend if done right

@tibiaroxxxx Eh, it's a completely different type of game. My LARP group, for instance, goes more for realism in combat styles, than realistic weaponry. We sacrifice looks for safety and functionality. From what I've seen, European LARP depends heavily on fantasy settings.

I've seen videos of UK and Aussie larps, and i have no idea what yall are talking about, they don't look any better than these. Weapons in this video look alot better than 90% of weapons I've seen.
