@subsamadhi No. Master Musicians of Bukakke is a band. An AWESOME band so to speak. Includes ex. members of the Burning Witch, Earth etc. And it's the only band I know which plays this kind of music (at least heavily related). Supposedly their name is related too. I am excited for their show in my city in May.
It was some nice days on the porch in front of the music school in Jajouka. Thanks to Jon for bringing it all back in this clip: The laughter, the horns, the drums, the magic of the nights, the faces of Moqadeem, Bokour and the others, and of Mohamed dancing the dance of Boujeloud. One clip which I can watch again and again. Thanks, Jon. Love Sanjaya
It took forever to find the "Brian Jones" master musicians album, but I would reccomend it to anyone who likes this particular song. Thankyou for posting.
It is not "55" (Hamza U Hamseen). It is from the Boujeloudiya, the dance of the beast Boujeloud. They are performing on the terasse of Bachir Attar, and the dancer is the original one, but he is not dressed up in the skins (i.e. like Pan). Still they are very sharp and it is strong stuff. I like hearing the horns squawk. Reminds me of a murder of crows. Very fierce sound. Nice drumming.
