Beauty pageants are disgusting. They make children believe that looks matter in life, when they don't! Not to a child anyway! Let a child HAVE their childhood. Not have it ruined by them feeling that they have to be pretty at the age if 7. At the age of seven they should be playing in monkey bars, not entering pageants that will mean nothing for their career, or life.

beauty pageants are not terrible you just go by what you her and see........pageants give little girls self-esteem, teaches them not to be afraid in front of big crowds, shows them how to be there selves, they learn that they dont always win, theres always scholarships offered, the: hair makeup and wardrobe is basically like the little girls playing dress up that is all there just having fun, it gives every girl that wins 1st 2nd or 3rd place etc....the chance to feel like a princess for the day

I think this film made a really good point about pageants. I love how all of the people are disgusted when Olive does a raunchy dance, but they applaud all of the girls made up like baby prostitutes. My point was not that they dress as normal adults, but that they play an adult's game. Pageants are beauty contests. It's a seduction contest rated by adults. I do not believe that adults should rate the seductive capacities of kids. That's what I mean.
