  • What happened with that guy, who almost reached the ball? @1:07

  • @BananaftRu - They kind of spaz out if the knees get bent back. They can't step correctly to stand back up so they just shimmy around on their knees. Also that scene looks weird b/c the ground is a slope but you can't tell, I should have made the ball striped or something so the rolling would add perspective.

  • I just love this stuff, I love how they tend to "fight" automatically.

I tried out LaPlacians, my first "bad" attempt is in my channel.

You're a very powerful Blender artist, Funkboxing. I think you're doing some really innovative things to improve the Blender community. Thanks for everything!

  • @MartianStories - high praise indeed sir, I thank you. The lightning isn't bad, just first- I commented some tips on that video. The 'fighting' is really just setting their heading to each other so their really just trying to walk into each other or chase the ball but it really does create some convincing behaviors. It can be a little addictive just running the sims over and over and seeing what they do.

  • @funkboxing I think it's a very neat experiment. So can you use constraints in the BGE to get some AI behavior going? It wouldn't take much before "Angry Blender Unit" becomes a front page story in "Wired" magazine. This is cool stuff. And the fact that you can use their animation as the basis of a more detailed model is cool. Exactly the stuff that would make creating animated alien life forms a snap, and very convincing. You've got a great head on your shoulders there, Dr Funkboxing! Its ALIVE
