what was the final setup , you stated a 1200 watt ? brushless ? and what lipo mah , only asking because i see the kit is still available so would love to set one up like you did, just love the vid, great stuff...
love the video, ive been flying electric rc park flyers for years but never did u control as a kid, now this big kid would love to give it a try, thanks again for posting this vid, awesome
Wasn't this ship painted yellow before it was orange? I think that's why your supplied kit decals are orange instead of yellow. And 1200 Watts? Anyway I love the spirit you have going on this channel. You'll be the guy who succeeds in getting kids into our hobby again.
nice to see old stuff- my dad started ukieing in the 40s or 50s , never had a lot of luck RCing, too busy to get too much into it but tried a few cheap RC planes and moved on -he did get to watch my modded aileronned wildhawk do a hammerhead etc before he passed on so that made him happy - he was a good dad -lotta patience
do you go to donavins? alot i go there some times to go look at planes. i saw a sobre 3d there once and i was wondering do you think thats a good traner plane?
You and I appear to be about the same age, I had several control line planes, I dont think they lasted to long. So I need to wait and see the servo added and independent flight.
Dave why don't you design a single channel remote for throttle out of some old transmitters. Show as a simple hack that we could copy. This would have to be better then having a Tx hanging from around your neck.
Well i remember this plane ,in the uk it was done by either keil kraft or mercury i cant remember this was some thirty years ago thanks again dave {"_*}
I remember the paper and dope ,you are half loopy by the time you had the plane covered.haha. Have some real fun dave put a OS 25 on that baby she will scoot along great .LOL.thanks again dave.
Dave it would be good to see you desgn a single channel remote from bits and peices for the control line, instead of the Radio you have hanging from your neck. If you could show us a simple design I would give this ago. Love the vids. Look forward to new ones daily.
Another great vid I must say. I have never monokoted anything before and little did I realize how much work it really was. Much respect for the older modelers that had to do this. We are waaaay spoiled now with the easy RTF's that are available now....or even the ARF's and most kits.
Even though you said you weren't good, you awesome at Monokoting! The Buster is amazing. I guess we'll after to start with control line to! By the way, thanks for doing more videos about this planes, there just simply awesome.
I always thought RC-ing was 2 hobbies in one. First the joy of building the model, and second was flying it. With the RTF planes so common today, people are missing out on half of the enjoyment, IMHO.
This kit from Sig was probably manufactured within the last several years... they're still making models. Plus you can see that the wooden peices are now laser cut, which wasn't the case some 40-50 years ago.
Sig manufacturing is sill alive and well in Montezuma. They give tours of there factory. Neat stuff. I have taken the tour a couple times. Sounds like a good day trip on a Gold Wing. Stop by Grinnell while you are here and I will take you to lunch.
I Love It! My brother used to fly these when I was a kid. He tried to teach me, I could build them just fine, but they all ended up as mulch very quickly! Thanks for the Vids!
nightflyer thanks for showing all those cox ukies, i wish i could find a mint spitfire like i had when i was a kid. also u should check out brodaks website for controline stuff. thanks
@metal4ever1965 Thanks very much. I have not viewed any of any other Ukie sites, till I finish this Ukie series, as I do not want to be influenced by another's ideas. I will check them all out soon, as I have a few more tricks up my sleeve. Wait till you see what is coming tonight.
@ssrc30 In the 50's, it was called a Whitman Buster with a built up balsa wing and much larger. They were fashioned after the Goodyear racers, of the 50's. Thanks for the comments.
@Airsoftaddict78 Haha. Your right. Being retired allows me to do the things with planes I always wanted to do. And with today's technology, it is fun to experiment.
Wait til you see what is coming tonight. Thanks for the comments.
@NightFlyyer Can't wait to see it ... keep up the great vids!!! They are ALWAYS entertaining AND informative .... not to mention they save the rest of us time and money by showing us what works and does not! I'm remembering your Dynam Spitfire and the CG problems it had .... that would have had me throwing that thing in the dumpster and possibly pulling my hair out!
@calebiskkkool Guess, cause I have gone "green" and already had my fill of Nitros for the first 45 years of model airplane flying. Now, it is quiet and green, and just a little more history.
great stuff! cool to see the covering coming to its own with such a vintage model :) Do you know what the intended covering/painting method was for this model originally?
@LondonRCproject Thanks. According to the instructions, it was tinted dope , followed by clear dope to seal the surfaces against all the fuel. But...too much work and stink for me today. Wait til you see what is coming tonight with this plane. More Mixing of the past with Present technology.
wont that make you dizzy?

What a fun plane! How hard would it be to up date this bird to a 3 or 4 channel RC flyer?

Dude, This all I fly. Control line is my hobby. But I do fly very little R.C. I dont have much interest in it though.
