This is the game that made my jaw drop when I saw the 3DO demoing in stores. I don't know if it's the visual fidelity of your video or what but it looks kind of underwhelming here.
BTW, since your craft's movements scroll the camera around I wouldn't call this a rail shooter. You're constantly traveling forward along the Z axis but you can still dodge and maneuver. I'd consider House of the Dead or Cobra Command to be rail shooters.
@spyro303 While their are some perspective shifts, I still argue the game is a rail shooter, as you are guiding down a set path, restricted in your side to side and vertical motion by a set of invisible rails. You can't exactly turn the ship around.
Good review. The game is indeed very impressive graphically. I noticed you mentioned a couple of times that it was released in 1993; is that what it says on the game box or on the intro screen? Just asking because it seems there's a lot of controversy over when Total Eclipse was released. Some sources say 1993, others say 1994.
@AssociationAdmirer I did some research, and the more reliable sources said 1993 -- so I went with that. 1994 was the Japanese release date though, so likely people are getting confused by that.
Great video. You might want to normalize the sound though. The FMV is loud, your voice is a bit quite comparatively. But otherwise great. I look forward to more of these. What's next?
Neat-looking game. What's Cthulhu doing at the start? lol

The boss to level 2 is awesome!! Very memorable moment of the game which I won't spoil for you here!

My question: Are there even any bosses in this game?
If yes, I strangely haven't seen any footage of them whatsoever.

Yes, there are bosses.

Pretty sweet! I think you succeeded, because I kinda want a 3DO now...
(this Audio Preview option is pretty lame, though!)

Yeah -- the volume issue will be fixed in the next installment. Next one I'm doing is Guardian War, followed by Samurai Shodown.
