hmmm, i call BS on this. I have a 2010 MS3 (which i LOVE) and 335s will pull on me all day until stage 2 and tune. and even then, it's not a guaranteed win. but given the price difference, it should be more of a surprise at how well the MS3 can keep up with a car that could easily cost double...
i'm sorry about what i am about to say: there is no way this MazdaSpeed just has an Intake, yes the MS3 is turbo but the 335i is TT and is stock doing 300hp/300tq. as a proud owner of an MS3 I hate to say it but there is just no way.
@Steffo290 While that is indeed true I would think the secondary turbo would assist with that issue. I'm not entirely sure but I would think that its got a Small/Large Turbo setup for more pickup but whatevs. I love my car and I would take on any 335i just for fun.
@TheMaverickSpawn It doesn't give it more power. The fact is, it is significantly heavier and doesn't have the extra power to give it a power/weight ratio advantage over the Mazda. The 335i's twin turbo system is what give it peak torque from 1300rpm up, but it still peaks at 300/300. The Mazda's got 263/280 at a few hundred pounds less, it adds up to a close race.

@TheMaverickSpawn stock maybe 300 at the crank. haha. but when your talking to the wheels its about 260-270. have yet to lose to my brothers 08' 335i with my 08 MS3 i was running 11.5 lbs and an intake so ya i had an extra lb and a half over stock but still not a super big diff. now im at 18lbs tuned and catless dp's with intake. he really cant keep up now. haha

The 335i must be running faults on it or the Mazda has a lot of dollar under that hood because I have a friend with a mapped speed3 and that barely pulls on my stock 335i - from a dig he has a car length on me to about 80 when I pull it back slightly. @125cubanito i beat my friends 335i. they are only 260-270 horse and weigh more. i was only pushing 11lbs when i did it compared to his 8lbs. but he also has two more cylinders as well but weight was in my favor. so ya maybe not just an intake but an intake and MBC with an extra lb or two and it can be done pretty easily.

So based on that, the result in the video is believable. With the inlet, it'll pull on the 335i harder. I did race, well it wasn't really good race, but did run into a 335i and it was dead hit. He did take me two car lengths but could not pull on it anymore till about 135 mph. that just shows how close these cars are stock for stock

While that is still 30 or so less then the bimmer, it (bmw) weights 400lbs more. From a roll, there is no reason it shouldn't make a race of it. People just pay more for it when it has a BMW stamp on it.
