  • Children will find any assembly boring, humanist or religeous.

  • i can not...i just can not even understand how someone can ignore facts. i mean you don't have to stop believing in your god or whatever but when someone shows the damage your religion has done or is doing..how can you just brush it off, ignore it and not try to fix the problem...instead of acting like a hard prick with a stick stuck up in ..you know where.

  • Religion is evil, especially Islam. Anyone with any real intelligence is an atheist.

  • 0:42 takes glasses off.....things just got serius!

  • The thing I hate about these debates is that nobody says what they truly feel through fear of offending, Dawkins seems to be the only one who doesn't care about offending!

  • Jonathan sounds just like his big brother Richard...

  • hindus and muslims don't get along . thats why pakis dont like indians .. but the fact is at the end of the day hindus seem much more civilized than muslims. when was there ever a extrimist hindus trying to preach and cut your throat for not believing their religion. their faith resides within themselves not spin around like twister and collect as many people as they can to follow them to oblivion

  • @kingkonghitme just to be clear the region of pakistan got pwned by muslims conquest a few hundred years ago. and muslims are crazy u know? so they went nuts

  • @kingkonghitme

    Nice observation there.

  • I don't get the "collective worship/reflection" thing. I grew up in a post-communist country, so we never had something like that. I just don't understand the point of it. We got together for parties and a school day, national holidays like remembering our loss in one war or another (we never actually won one).

  • If I hear one more argument from tradition I'm gonna puke

  • @nsekh085

well...at least, Dawkins does not look that calm lol

  • Collective reflection is a weird way of saying it. What you need is a 30 minute to an hour long ethics course that is open forum where children can speak their minds on what they believe.

Oh, but that would mean people would actually have to hear other people's positions that don't fit neatly in their ideal ideology. They might break down in tears.

If you're not tough enough to defend your own beliefs, then stop complaining when others end up ridiculing them as it's only your fault.

  • Tentmakernorway can't think for himself.

  • Multiculturalism and immigration.

Why? Why? Why did we do it? It doesn't work. It simply doesn't work..

  • 6:20 Death stare.

  • "I agree with Professor Dawkins"- You know he's being exceedingly smug on the inside xD Bless im

  • 09:40 seriously? collective worship as a way of integration? that's like asking for mass riots and murder. anyone who knows the religions of the middle east knows that christians, jews and muslims, can't stand next to each other without killing someone... how about no worship? keep that insanity to yourself.

  • Poor Sikhs and Hindus

They just want chill D: let them chill man

  • @Redeemedsinner17 agree :) the good thing about indian religion is that so many of them smoke so much weed they feel fighting is a hassle. they just sit around and meditate :)

  • I haven't heard any good points for pro religious schools yet. The only one that kind of works is that girl who learned how to interact well with others which she claims she got from her religious schooling.

But in reality this girl just has good social skills. And saying that you can't develop appropriate social skills without religious doctrine is just absurd.

  • The only reason Atheism is becoming popular, is because it doesn't in itself punish evil deeds, and it leaves the members free to do whatever they like as long as they respect the laws of society. It's the "easy way" through life, without boundaries which may appear in other religions.

  • @TentmakerNorway Or perhaps we as Atheists are moral enough in our own right to know these boundaries with both common sense, and empathy.

  • @TentmakerNorway Do some research.

  • Why is atheism becoming so popular?! May be because u dont need to 'learn' anything once u're an atheist....no norms no values...u stop wondering about the universe...sealing the progress of ur knowledge forever...u can just proclaim u're an atheist and then give urself the license to do whatever u want.

  • @afterglow2323 Nay, atheists actually take more interest in the wider universe than theists, who prefer to focus on their god and an afterlife that doesn't exist. Norms, values and knowledge come from common sense. At least we don't need a book to tell us to be nice to each other. Meanwhile you theists can do whatever you like, pray to god for forgiveness, and then go do it again.

  • @SiftyFix N1. Norms and values of society change with time. If u believe that there are some 'universal' norms and values u have to believe that it comes from a supernatural entity. Otherwise, if values are the product of human brain and product of evolution, there's no point in believing in such values! Once, people were conservative about gays and now things have changed. Now u believe killing is bad, 100 years later u might find it to be necessary and essential!

  • @afterglow2323 It's always fundamentally "bad" because it doesn't strengthen communities

  • @afterglow2323

I'm an atheist and I still haven't stopped learning

  • @afterglow2323 thats ridiculous - religions stop to wonder about the universe?!?! they stick with there creationist views normally - atheists strive to dicsover more and more Facts about the universe, they want to invistigate and answer all questions raised about our universe. you're comment is very ignorant and somewhat offensive

  • @jackcoles94 I actually meant that an atheist believes in the finality of his knowledge like he has discovered the ultimate truth about the origin and mechanism of the universe. As a student of science I was taught to remain open to all kinds of possibilities and explanations. U want to ask question and investigate? U can only find out how things happen but u can't find out WHY things happen.

  • @afterglow2323 Congratulations on having absolutely no understanding of the word "atheist". Atheism ONLY means to lack belief in a god - it's not a claim that no god exists and that we somehow know that for a fact. Present some evidence that your god exists and we'll change our minds. You'd understand the importance of evidence if you understood as much about science as you pretend you do.

  • The faith-based speakers are nothing but double speaking ponces.

  • Dawkins is a true trooper, a stronger man than I will ever become. I sit here at home watching this, alone in my tiny student apartment in Sweden, screaming at the top of my lungues;

"Just put away the ancient books and listen to Stephen Hawking you primitive, rabid, beasts!"

... And he just sports a light sweat on his forehead and only a slight throbbing of his forehead-veins - a true inspiration for the militant atheist (yes - I exist, fear my kind for we acctually have the answers).

  • Okay, I'm having a really hard time being able to listen to both sides of these comments because most athiests who have posted talk about "winning" and most christians talk about "being right or correct." I'd urge all of you to remember this is a debate of beliefs, not a war on intelligence.

  • That fat girl is really dumb

  • The guy in the red jacket was so fucking right it was fucking cool!

  • That Catholic girl is giving the assumption that those points are exclusive to her school, and other faith schools. No, thats just decent education presented by any truly competent school.

  • If the UK wants to make any advancements as a liberal society, then they need to do away with their state church and their monarchy. Granted, it isn't any better in the US, but that's an ignoring of the law, rather than the law itself. But as an increasingly atheist society, Britain should take the next logical step.

  • I really really wanted to hear the hindu and sikh guys talk more...

  • 3:09 to get to the video back..

  • "[...]No, but our culture is a christian culture[...]"

Thank you for admitting that you think non-christians don't have a place in "your" culture, douchebag. You're just won the argument for the secularists.

Amusingly, the muslim school principal wins the argument for secularists again later.

  • I feel so sorry for athiest . God said: If you deny me in front of your friends, I will deny you on the day of judgement . which mean you will go to hell. and you say well I don't believe in hell. I don't believe in the Devil . but the Devil believes in you .your going to regret making fun and God

  • @BrendanHobson204 The Hindu, Sikh and Muslim gods will punish you for not believing them, and the Flying Spaghetti Monster will make you drink flat beer and sleep with strippers who have STD's

  • @lewisner one small correct Hindu gods wont punish for non believing (or even scold of god in that matter). there is no scripture in hinduism saying hindu god will punish u if u dont believe in them and pray to them. prayer and believing is ur choice and u should not mess with others belief system. - i'm hindu from india so i like to mention this

    comments welcome

  • @hellobal100 Oh OK my bad 8-)

  • @lewisner dont mention it friend

  • @hellobal100 It is good to see that unlike many religions hinduism doesn't discriminate in that sense. Thank you for sharing that about hinduism.

  • @magxsnyp3r pleasure is mine

  • @BrendanHobson204 I feel sorry for believers. Having limits shoved infront of them, having their freedom and happiness restricted, and behaving as they believe appropriate, just because they fear punishment. Being good to other people doesn't make you a better person, if you're doing it because you fear divine punishment. And if God truly spoke "If you tell people you don't believe in me, I'll punish you", then he surtainly seems like an ass, and he can have his paradise for himself.

  • @GodSince1994 I dont love other people because im scared of punishment . your Ignorance assumes im scared to goto hell . Just dont blame anyone for the choices you made and are going to make , and what will happed to you. God bless :)

  • @BrendanHobson204 If you don't love other people because you're being told something bad will happen, then it has absolutely nothing to do with religion, unless you do it just because you're told to, in which case you're incompetent. I'm not assuming you're being good because you're scared, I'm not blaming anyone for my choices, I'm just pointing out that people often say that atheists have no restrictions and are therefore capable of evil, while you're threatening people to believe what you do.

  • 7:35 It's the guy from indiana jones!

  • 0:50

As much as it concerns me I wonder how you could possibly know what lies after our deaths; I mean- Have you ever tried dying before and succeeded? If not then everyone else should rather refrain from contacting you in anyway I'm afraid.

  • @MrTickleparty

    *hindhus and sikhs

  • I didnt think state schools still make kids sing songs and pray to a God. When i was at school in the 70's i had to do this. I thought they would have ended that by now.

  • Thank you, Jay Lakhani!

Also, LOL @crojonphoenix : it indeed got serious!

  • @lotmein20 I hope yopu are right. But I am afraid this ignorance will cost millions if not a billion lives

  • when the reverend smiled at 4:26 i think he thought

"shutup! im right your wrong have fun in hell :D" lol

  • in 100 years, this debate would be a top hit in comedy central. our grandchildren will make fun of us once believing in God. luckily for me, i'm an atheist and my grandchildren will always win when they compare grandparents with others.

  • @Samou579 Muslims are going to make it sure that no human will exist by 100 years . They are going to send the whole world to the stone age by nuclear wars.

  • @rzadan haha, like muslim can afford nuclear bombs.... they can't even deal with starvation..

  • @Samou579 I really hope you are right . Keep your eyes oppen. You have no idea how cruel and stupid muslems are. I have been one , so I know it.

  • @Samou579 i completely agree

when scientists first come up with the theory that the earth is a sphere, religous fanatics charged the scientists with heresy and they completely rejected their ideas

nowadays nobody disputes that the earth is round, its just a fact

the same will happen to theorys like evolution, many people reject the idea because they cannot comprehend it

when the evidence comes, evolution will be treated as a fact and nobody will be able to deny it

  • @Samou579 In a 100 years...this is hilarious right now. I mean just imagine how Dawkins in feeling during the debate..."why am I surrounded by idiots who can not face reality?" Religion is an escape for people who can't face the fact that after they die there is NOTHING!!!

  • @ringforrohan well said

  • @Samou579

you are optimistic . i think 100y isnt enough

  • @Samou579 There is a proverb which you should always remember: The condemned live longer

  • @Samou579 : :D :D

  • Indeed, religious schools should simply stop existing! They exist not because nuns or priests care about education but because its a good disguise to force the doctrins in little children! And what about the Vatican getting thousands of millions of euros a month from public taxes from people who isn't even a catholic. In my opinion it is also a disguised mafia behind a religious mask.

  • Q & A In Australia is a much better show.

  • This is SO much better than American debates. Here, you find a group of intellectual people who have actual reasons that they have thoroughly thought out. Not people that totally believe in a God simply because they do.

  • FFS Jonathan Dimbleby, quit interrupting when your guests are making their fucking point! Just let them speak!!! LMAO

  • The sikh and hindu were definitely on point, the abrahamic religions are exclusivist and they do have the mindset of we're right you're wrong. At the heart of those religions is an intolerant, dictatorial, and imperialistic worldview veiled by the claim that they want to save people from damnation. One need only look at history to see how this has led to countless atrocities, They say they are about love and peace, yet why do they have that baggage. Wouldnt god's values make them better people?

  • DAWKINS IS GOD

  • why do all religious people in this look like pork ?

  • I'd like to post a relevant comment, but it's almost time for me to face West, bow forward and then fart.

  • The question boils down to, does a parent have the right to impose what they want on their child? The Humanist says the default should be atheism and the Christian says it should be Christ, what a conundrum we are stuck in

  • Hindu and Sikh talked sense, especially Hindu guy was right on mark.....

  • @nsekh085 good breakdown of what they are saying;)

  • Comment removed

  • Of course, when the Hindu guy makes a point, they cut him off...

    #It'sTheFundamentalsOfTheSystem

  • This Fagget Needs fame and you dumb ignorant fools are blindly following him without justification. When the theory of natural selection being a mere chance became laughable you have concluded the opposite of mere chance?!Hahahahahahah who are you kidding. Find out all over the Net or Youtube if this Fag Dr. Has any debate agaisnt a Muslim debater. He s able to beat Christians and Other religions but not the True System of LIfe aka Islam. Suck it fake Dr. Bring it on (God Logic vs Mere chance).

  • @bewareofdajjal As soon as you used (and misspelled) the word faggot, I stopped reading your comment.

  • Comment removed

  • @bewareofdajjal you're crazy dude. Stay inside.

Anyone notice that the hosts name is Mr. Dimbleby?

  • if the faith schools are very negative then make them not negative, but dont stop people from trying to preserve some of their culture. Children are supposed to be the drivers of the tomorrow. If they dont learn about culture at all, there will be no culture in the end, and it will be all Sir Dawkin's head.

  • @forsakendemo you don't need a catholic school to learn about culture...

  • @sam8110 cant you see religion dying, who do you think will even dare to teach it? think about it. it will die in the pages of history and then further down the road become mockery like the norse mythology. do you know all about norse mythology? If you have some caucasian in you then you should know a lot, but you dont anymore. That is how cultures die

  • @forsakendemo And thank christ it IS dying (excuse the pun). What is wrong with a mythological culture dying? Culture can be evil. The pain religion causes is heart-breaking and the sooner it stops and is left in some dusty history books the better.

  • @sam8110 If that is what you think is the CAUSE of the pain then go kill RELIGION and CULTURE as fast as you can... go online and convert people to atheism. ...

But are you SURE religion and culture is the reason for the HURT>???????

Think long and hard before you kill something people created with love after centuries... think CAAREEEFULLLLY

  • @forsakendemo Oh seriously, do everyone a favour, do some research, it's not rocket science.

  • @sam8110 i have done research and religion in the past didnt hinder anything else, as long as it doesnt become the tool to enslave people it is not bad.. and i have done research

  • Little Catholic school girl, it's not hard to say you're well integrated into society when the society is fundamentally based upon people like you

  • the indian guy in hisborange suit could not BE MORE RIGHT.

  • @Ajetuv57 Hahaha, wait arent you the ppl of peace with you irrational morality? aka athiesm. So whenever the arguments are taking wrong turn, you start to call names. You need help. Why dont you check out all the debates by muslims scholars vs athiests or christians. You will always get smoked and pop in irrelavent question that has nothing to do with Islam. The imposed question will be significant to a nation or a leader than what Islam teaches. 4 u God s not there cuz He didnt accept ur prayer

  • religions are inherently intolerant of each other. why else would you bother belonging to a particular religion if you didn't think everyone else was wrong? I'm sure going to a Catholic school is fine if you are Catholic (or rather if your parents tell you you are Catholic) but I go to an all girls Catholic school (parents made me) and being an atheist, am frequently basically told I am a bad person. I have been in trouble for refusing to participate in morning prayers.

  • @JemimaTheDuck I'm in your position only its a boys and girls Catholic school. My religion teacher is intolerant of my belief (or lack of) and I do get a lot of slagging for not being Catholic :L

  • IRONIC THAT EVEN ATHIEST NEEDS TO BELIEVE INTO SOMEFORM! SUCK IT ATHIEST, FOR NOT BEING ABLE TI BYPASS THE FAITH INSTINCT OF HUMANS. U HAD ONE N NOW UR INTO ANOTHER ONE. HAHAHAHA. ITS MODERN NATZISM. DID HUMAN MIND EVOLVE INSTINCT OF BELEIF NO MATTR WHERE UR, AFRICA, DESERT, ISLANDZ. HAHAHAHAH. BCUZ THERE IS APISTACY, GOD DOEST EXIST? YIKES. WHO WILL KILL THE MISLEADERS WHO WILL AFFECT LIVES OF MANY? DER SHOULD BE RULES 4 ATHIESTS OR ANY1 WHO MISGUIDE,LIE, FORNICATE, COMMITS CRIMES ETC

  • @bewareofdajjal i dont speak retard, what does u had no one n now ur into another one mean? by the way under your own logic your going to hell. what is a someform?

  • This show blows. We have a speaker and then we dont let him finish that's weird n ignorant. The muslim director was bringing up a good point which got carried away. How will ppl ever learn? Why doesnt Dawkins have debate with muslim scholars? This phony person knows how his followers will loose their faith in him. Hahahahah Faith of the athiests! After all they do have faith of somesort. Athiesm simply means, lifestyles of unnaturals. Why do athiests need to beleive into no God? Isnt dat ironic?

  • @bewareofdajjal Are people not aware of the fact that Dawkins has been in debates with Muslim scholars before? And guess what?

He destroyed them. He destroys most people when it comes to debates.

  • @ChaosTheory0 No there is no single debate with Dawkins vs Islam. He knows he will be nullyfied and smoked. Anyway search on Youtube Dawkins or Richard Dawkins Vs Islam or Muslim. This fagget will loose badly in a rational argument. When Dawkins will be presented with valid arguments, he will impose what is the punishement of Apostacy or what is a nation doing which are irrelevant to the Topic. You know who is right. Check out HAMZA TZORTZIS.

  • @bewareofdajjal What are you talking about?! You're claiming that no atheist has beat a Muslim in a debate and yet Dawkins bitched a Muslim in THIS debate. A simple question about Apostacy and the Muslim headmaster looked embarrased and tried to dodge the question. I believe that stereotyping is wrong but sir, you have just conformed to your stereotype of being ignorant and blind of opposing opinions/views. Rant over!

  • @whiteholedy88 slow cap for this one

  • Comment removed

  • It's not a "christian culture". Its a "western" culture. By law, we are not made to worship such as that of Sharia which comes hand-in-hand with Middle Eastern culture.

  • Why can't muslims use the thing in their skulls ? They just get angry

  • I wish Dawkins spoke more.

  • Why there weren't any pastafarian visitors?

  • "I agree with Professor Dawkins."

  • 0:41

    *glasses off*

    shit just got serious XP

  • @crojonphoenix

you made me laugh for like a whole minute with your comment, TY.

  • @crojonphoenix dont you mean shit just got real

  • @crojonphoenix And so it did. What he says was pretty insightful :)

  • 7:10 --> Dawkins' "why did I bother coming here" face

  • What is the penalty for Apostasy

  • The hindu guy is spot on.

  • everyone god loves your money thats what churches are saying give to church no cancer research heres the thing god aint helping any one but with enough to money to cancer research together we can beat cancer and say goodbye to religion religion is only making the cancer spread.

  • Hindu faith is the one that make less harm to the societyxD

  • You know someone is serious when they take off their glasses o.o

  • Secularism is the only way... State funded schools have no place to teach one specific religion over others.

  • Skip the break jump to 3:06

  • @dragonfiremalus wow, what a long break!

  • @dragonfiremalus thanks

  • THAT 'BREAK' WAS REALLY LONG...FELT LIKE REAL TV EVEN

  • Andrew Copson is an absolute legend.

  • You know what should happen to schools?

Everybody student should be thought different religions.

By that, students will be able to think for themselves on which religion should take.

Oh, they should teach anti-religion too. :))

  • NEW WORLD ORDER

THE COMPLETE SECULARISATION OF THE WORLD

THAT IS THE PROJEC THERE GOD IS PLEASED WITH,WHO IS THE GOD OF OUR WORLD LEADERS AND BANKERS?

    LUCIFER

    .

    .

"THE GREATES TRICK THE DEVIL EVER PULLED WAS CONVINING THE WORLD HE DID NOT EXIST"

  • @pinball281 You're a stupid tool , get out.

  • @pinball281 that's among the most ridiculous blabber I've ever heard. At best they are godless, meaning they rely on themselves and thus meaning THEY and they only are to blame (as atheism is NOT a faith and therefore has not a common agenda etc.).

  • @SpaceVulcan REALLY?? WATCH THE ARRIVALS!!

  • @pinball281 ah, so you believe something apparently random put on a youtube account with disabled comments on both video and channel? Sorry, but I would suggest to look for more solid evidences (these are things that can't really be proven before they happen, but that's a personal opinion & a different matter...) than a one-way random-appearing user. And please never forget that if you want to find something at any cost, you might believe it's real even if it isn't because you want it to be!

  • @pinball281 TYPING IN CAPITALS DOES GET YOUR POINT ACROSS BETTER! IT JUST MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A MENTAL PERSON OR RELIGIOUS NUTTER, BUT IN THIS CASE YOU CLEARLY ARE A BIT OF A RELIGIOUS NUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pinball281 The devil only exsists in religion, there is no devil in Atheism! The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing people to be religious! BOOM! GAME OVER!

  • @Phoenix1664 that would mean there is still a devil, many athiests say thats stupid because i dont believe in the devil, well lol that is why its a great trick,it has to work on the majority and what did Hitler say about a big lie and keep repeating it?

  • @pinball281 Lol You're missing the point, religion is an inadvertant evil, its suppost to be for morals and teachings, however in alot of circumstances its primative and frightening, using scare tactics are brainwashing people. Dont you see what you're doing? Writing comments in block capitals to try and intimidate and scare people, you're just a religious sheep, hopeless and blind. You can have all the morals you ever need for life, without religion. Theres no devil, evil is man made.

  • @Phoenix1664 lol and how do you actually know the athiests are not the sheep? being lead by the illuminati who work for their master satan, maybe this is the end times, maybe in the end days saatn thought he would take as many away from the creator as possible,to do thos you have to be very smart and come up with a THEORY such a s big bang being the start, erm btw what exploded? yeah but how do you know there is no devil?? you dont believe there is a devil but for all you know there could be

  • @pinball281 The only devil i see is the pure blind fanatical faith religion is spreading. You're just a typical religious fanatic, refusing to listen to science because of whatever bullshit you have brainwashed by as a kid. Atheists dont attempt to influence each other in the same way religion does. And for the record, i never said there wasnt a God, i simply said there is not a single shread of evidence to support one. I would never deny the exisistance of a "god" as a "possibility".

  • i think the guy leading the debate is for the faith schools

  • @alonderis He's does seem to ring lead the debates toward the faithschool, by constantly cutting off the good points of people stating otherwise.

  • Hindu guy nailed it!!

  • that sikh man made the point . he knows humanity

  • It's not a Christian culture, it's a British culture. I'm not even from Britain, and I can deduce that.

  • 6:34 I love his facial expression, filled with despite for this old fucker.

  • *Methodology for Christians* 1) Reject the premise > 2) Focus on irrelevancies

  • The bishop talks so much shit.

    "Well...I think...can't forget the heritage...,"

He doesn't even make any good points.

  • i wish i lived in a world free of religion!! :(

  • The Hindu bloke at 0:53 is bang on tolerance is definitely a red herring every religion that I know anything about teaches that if you don't follow it you suffer some kind of doom/hell type scenario that is not tolerance or respect!

  • I thought Dawkins had "blacked up" for a second when the Hindu guy came on lol

  • Notice how both the Hindu and Sikh guys have very moderate, and very balanced view points.

And the last time Hindus or Sikhs were on the news for hate-crimes/terrorism/predjudice/bitching about 'human rights' was when ... ?

I think Budhists, Hindus and Sikhs have it right.

  • @Lucessi1986 Ajahn Brahm from the Buddhist Society of Western Australia once described religions as revealed and realised. The Abrahamic religions reveal the truth for its believers in their holy books whereas the eastern religions have a tendency to encourage people to to philosophise and experiment, in order to realise the wisdoms of their elders.

  • Excellent response by Jay Lakhani "What they [faith schools] are saying is 'We are right, and they are wrong', and are therefore exclusivist".

  • Nicely said Dwayno, Im not gay, but I wish I was, if only to piss off homophobes!

  • I wish they went deeper into the point that the Hindu guy made!!

  • As long as ALL of these schools say first, okay anything religious we teach you here is complete and utter bullshit, and now onto real things such as math and sciences! NOW PRAY OR GO TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!! .... c'mon
