I don't get the "collective worship/reflection" thing. I grew up in a post-communist country, so we never had something like that. I just don't understand the point of it. We got together for parties and a school day, national holidays like remembering our loss in one war or another (we never actually won one).
Collective reflection is a weird way of saying it. What you need is a 30 minute to an hour long ethics course that is open forum where children can speak their minds on what they believe.
Oh, but that would mean people would actually have to hear other people's positions that don't fit neatly in their ideal ideology. They might break down in tears.
If you're not tough enough to defend your own beliefs, then stop complaining when others end up ridiculing them as it's only your fault.

I haven't heard any good points for pro religious schools yet. The only one that kind of works is that girl who learned how to interact well with others which she claims she got from her religious schooling.
