What is gonna happen everytime you decide to run up field towards a bunch of guys running full speed? It could have been prevented by the returner by just simply letting the ball hit the ground, instead of running towards the coverage team at full speed, especially when you know the ball has been in the air for a good amount of time. No ejection. No suspension. Both with far more intent then this play.
There was one helmet to helmet play in the entire game. Vandy's Fugger sacked Tyler Wilson. Fugger went from the crown of his helmet to the side of Wilson's helmet. The ref was right behind them, but didn't call a penalty on the dirtiest hit of the game.
Vandy's Hayward speared Wilson in the back with his helmet. The ref called the penalty on that one.
if nothing else, the Wade made the hit before the ball got there-- also illegal.
But yeah, if you read the rules, it was a cheap shot for several reasons. Feel free to go to the ncaa website and buy a copy of rulebook.

First off let me say as a Razorback fan this kind of football is not tolerated. Secondly, it was shocking to realize that Wade was even a gunner on the punting team. This freshman has been the one returning punts, not gunning after the returnee. His actions after the hit were stupid, but I'm not going to sit here and say its the biggest "cheap shot". Have you watched Alabama play? They had about 8 cheap shots on Tyler Wilson and that kind of play is acceptable b/c its Bama?!
Frankly, I'd kick him off the team given his conduct AFTER he was ejected. Jawing at the coaches, jerking his arm away, etc. - clearly he has issues. Not worth it to have a loose cannon like that on your team.
Have to say, as a side note, that I LOVED Vandy's coach hauling his players to the sidelines to avoid making a bad situation worse - great heads up coaching, and seemed to be a lot more concerned at disciplining his players than the Arkansas side...though they can probably be excused for feeling sheepish over the outrageous and uncontrolled behavior of their player...

Bottom line, you can't touch the guy until he has the ball or not at all if he calls fair catch.

1) This was an illegal hit--accident or not, this kind of hit could have seriously injured the Vandy player. Then, Wade celebrates and goes mouthing to the sidelines. Bad conduct. Bye-Bye Wade. Bet he won't make the same mistake twice(especially with Petrino tearing him a new one post-game)

Ole Miss v. Arkansas: Arkansas RB is down and the play is over. After he stands back up one of the Ole Miss defenders that tackled him drills him with his helmet to the chest.
What do these plays from this year have in common?

There was one helmet to helmet play in the entire game. Vandy's Fugger sacked Tyler Wilson. Fugger went from the crown of his helmet to the side of Wilson's helmet. The ref was right behind them, but didn't call a penalty on the dirtiest hit of the game.
Vandy's Hayward speared Wilson in the back with his helmet. The ref called the penalty on that one.

First off let me say as a Razorback fan this kind of football is not tolerated. Secondly, it was shocking to realize that Wade was even a gunner on the punting team. This freshman has been the one returning punts, not gunning after the returnee. His actions after the hit were stupid, but I'm not going to sit here and say its the biggest "cheap shot". It's up to him to get to the ball anyway he can, fair catch or not. A good receiver will catch the ball if he can to avoid the chance that the ball will roll in favor of the kicking team. Bottom line, you can't touch the guy until he has the ball or not at all if he calls fair catch.
