Constantlydoped and dan whatever are the same bar flies you hear talking about how they USED to climb trees and they've fell the biggest ones you've ever heard of. Everyone seems to talk about the climber...he looks like he made a good cut, had the top rigged correctly and he was tied in correctly. It was the ground man controlling the rope who messed up. If the groundsman had let the rope run a bit more the tree wouldn't have bucked the climber out.

Definately could have been alot worse. Bucking is quite normal. Ground crew could have done better in braking (slowing the tree down for you idiots that haven't a clue) with the ropes. Then again, too much tree at one time. Ya, he could have died from the trees recoil. BUT Alot of that could have been avoided with experienced groundsmen. Shock load. Very dangerous.

That's not a near death experience, that's fairly normal. He should have a chin strap on his helmet, that's really embarrassing and inconvenient but apart from that A*. It's such a big piece it was always going to knock him around a bit. The stihls will take that all day and you can see him clip it up tight to the harness so it wouldn't have taken that much of a beating. He's roped in so was never going to fall that far.
