I haven't heard this in so long, and I needed to hear it. The 77's were a huge part of my youth. I often think I had it much more together back then...
Oh Lord, I love this song! I haven't heard it nearly 2 decades! It still fills my heart with sadness, still moves me. Truly an eternally fantastic tune.
amen bro. Me too. I was a leader at a camp during the summer of 1987. I used this song as a guide for one of our bible sessions. Great! God uses it still to move me ahead in my walk with him! Thanks for the posting
Normally I find a lot of out of print music on iTunes...but not these guys. I used to listen to them every day in the mid 80's...and Steve Taylor, Undercover, Ressurection Band...man I could go on and on and on. Those were days of great music.
Too bad the 77's discs are out of print. This is an awesome song, and if you want a really good cover version, check out the Smalltown Poets CD Third Verse. They also cover The Choir's Beautiful Scandalous Night on that CD.
Not everything by them is out of print. In fact, they have a new album out now that's smoking hot. And their old stuff can be easily found on things like soulseek or torrent.
Unfortunately for me, I am not skilled enough to use torrents. I have tried many times unsuccessfully. I have heard the newer stuff too and I agree, but I don't have the older CDs and those are the ones I like the most.
Try Amazon if you are after the CDs...otherwise most good Christian Bookshops can get them for you (I got them sent to Australia and wow!!...people loved ringing in and asking for these guys!)
Can I get this song (The Lust, the flesh...) on this "torrent" of which you speak? I really need this song, but I don't know what torrent is...Help? : )
Lost Dogs also covered Scandalous on the MUTT CD. Mike Roe does vocals, as Derri did the originals. Terry also does an acoustic of Lust, quite nice. Love the Dogs and their originals, especially Daniel Amos
Classic!

I actually saw Terry playing an acoustic set at Soulfest a couple of years ago and he played it there. Great version.

A great song that has always reminded me of a Bob Dillon influence.
