  • Are you God?

  • Fuck R-Type, hardest side scroller EVER!

  • that looks legit to me. I did it before and nearly broke my controller 4 hours later. good job beating that hellish stage.

  • God player...

  • Who would win in a boss fight between bacterian of gradius and bydo of r-type?

  • is this tool asstisted? i find it way to difficult to navigate through that level with all the speed power ups even on normal. i can't imagine doing it on the hardest mode, but if you did it honesly then congrats.

  • Anyone else reminded of a few Bullet Hell moments? Damn... :P

  • that level looks IMPOSSIBLE!!!

  • This was the only r type i never beat...

  • even Chuck Norris wipes in this level!

  • This on xbox or MAME?

  • @MrHertze On xbox try to search r-type dimensions

  • what reflex!

  • I recently downloaded its through PS3...I can't even pass stage 2, WTF! I'm sure I have no chance in this stage!

  • tool assisted or trainer?

  • wow... excellent game play !

  • Shit the bed, that's impressive gameplay right there.

  • damn.. thats all i can say lol

  • Way to kick bydo ass dude you make the arrowhead look good!!!

  • wholy shit dude, good game, you are truely jedi!!!

  • you are a jedi master!!

  • I love this stage's music especially (the R-TYPE II soundtrack is awesome altogether), i love how dire it sounds.

  • Isn't R-type 2 a 2 player game?

  • Only the Xbox 360 version has a two player co-op mode.

  • There's a 360 version of that game that has 2 player co-op mode? (not as a separate mode where you get nothing for playing with a friend, but get something for playing with a friend as if you played one player)

Man, I've been left out of the loop for a long time. Also I think I found out that R-type Leo has the 2 player version where 2 players beat the game together.

  • There's no way this isn't tool-assisted. Still, it's mindblowing.

  • I can assure you that it isn't, mate. I've watched a recording of tviks single-crediting the arcade version of Gradius III without any power-ups. He's also at the top of the European Gradius Rebirth leaderboard, having reached loop 25. He could be an android, but he isn't cheating.

  • beautiful.

  • I didn't know hardware of that time could have that many bullets on screen [see 1:23]... 0_o

  • holy did u do it on expert?? i could only make it to level 2 on expert. u are realy good

  • Comment removed

  • Crazy!!!! @_@

Stuff Flying everywhere,,,,Bullets flying everywhere xD

  • the additional R-9s are cool, but too bad they aren't that helpful besides damaging the non-boss enemies.

  • impressive!

  • holy shit. thats a true r-type....

i remember how i sat on r-type 1 on amiga for days and learned the levels :)

  • 1:20?! how did you live that? lol

  • yeah... I thought this game was 1 hit= death (?)

  • He didn't get hit at 1:20, watch very very closely.

  • i never meant on the 1:20 screen paused... in action those green shots seem to be hitting him after 1:20.

  • If you know how small the R9's hitbox really is, it's a plausible miss.

  • whats more plausible is that his hitbox is deactivated.

  • I don't think that anyone with a de-activated hitbox would go to all the bother of dodging everything.

  • Is this Tool-Assisted rofl?...cause thats a damn good preformance man...

  • Really great Run. Amaizing Reflexes :D But it looked not cheated. He knowed all. Very n1 run. Im Impressed. Im playing R-Type 3. Im now on Stage 4 :D The First 3 can i Perfect now. But hey its a long way to Master any Title of R-Type. But its not Impossible ;) Many thought Metal Slug 3 is not Perfect playable. But an Player showed it works on HARD Mode :D

  • godDAYAMN!!! looks like no one was meant to beat this game the way those lobster-crab thingies were firing at your ass!! nice flying!.....and shooting

  • have a look at r-typeII stage6 (revival point-boss). it may be an easier setting but you can tell he's not cheated because he's done the level properly.

  • Ok.

  • @tv1ks What kind of controller do you use in this video and for shmups in general?

  • @timmya4000 iv beaten this game a bunch of times as a kid. back on the snes. why shoot the yellow guys. more points.

  • @timmya4000 Okay this comment is kinda of old but may I ask how he cheated? And "me thinks"? What horrible grammar!

  • vc é de outro planet

  • O.O

  • I think it is a combination of superb playing and... cheating..

  • The Chosen One must be playing this!

  • :D i remember that... have it here somewhere but neither of my amigas work lol

  • great playing. you're the best

  • The force is strong with this one.

    Get it? Force? Huu huu!

No seriously. Good use of it!

  • lol OMG WTF

  • you are very very very very good! I will get some inspiration for plaing through super R-type

  • MY GOD! 1.35.. are you half machine?! damn cyborg! :D

    U r the master.

  • Aren't the best player from finland?

But you are definitely one of the best shump player in the world.

  • ur soooooooooooo lucky

    the minj could do thaiiiit

    with his eyes closed

    chaaaaih

  • Outstanding play. Especially at 1:39

  • what

  • Yeah, makes me want to go out to buy it or borrow it. I've fought this boss on SNES version.

  • Insane. I can barely finish this game on the normal difficulty loop...

  • yeah dude, you got it. I just loved this game and you show that its still alive ;)

  • Dude, u r officially unbeatable and the supreme master of this game. PERIOD.

  • tv1ks U got mad hands, I always played that level with the generator thing`a` ma jig on the back. For the boss I always released the generator into the internals when it opened up. Didn`t realize there was a sweet spot. I guess every boss in R-type has sweet spots. Did you find that sweet spot on your own?

  • ummmmm....1:35!!!!!

  • OMG! Hands of GOD :)

  • Pro

  • SR.Vício

  • I just finished the game, but oh my God, you make it look so much easier than the time I had with it!

  • damn you are good !!

  • Darn, would have been nice if the final level music from Super R-Type was in this one (the level is otherwise ALMOST a direct port.)

  • Wow - if brains were computers, I'd say this guy has overclocked his. Just hope his fan is big enough. :D

  • Ok no problem tviks. I would have thought that a smooth playing Hori like BD would have indeed been to your taste. I guess our tastes are slightly different; I prefer BD to the Gradius series myself. Cheers, DEL

  • tviks' mastery of the Gradius & R Type series...I fear the day when you get hold of Border Down Mister tviks! My score's gonna get hammered:)

  • I have tried Border Down on my Dreamcast and even found an arcade machine of it (which is extremely rare in my country). But the problem is that I don't like it at all, so don't worry ;)

  • @tv1ks So, did you continue?

P.S, Could you show me the ending?

  • I see it... but I don't believe it... countless retrys aside, I cannot believe anyone could navigate those swarms...

  • How the fuck do you navigate through an onslaught of bullets when your ship is THAT FAST? That's inhuman. The margin of error is so damn tiny at that speed...

  • Tons of practice and countless retrys. If you are talking about the part after I got the last speedup, I actually surprised even myself there.

  • Super job. I'm trying to beat the orginal R-Type on Wii. lol

  • Wait til you try Hyper Dyne Sidearms. when you're at full speed, you can sometimes "melt" through enemies

  • I never knew super r-type was a remake.

  • it was not exactly a remake, more like half R-Type II levels, half SNES-exclusive levels.

  • I manage to get to the last level, just had one more baby bydo to destroy, the only thing thats cheap about the last boss is that if you don't destory it in time, those missiles will go at intense speed(Very hard to avoid).

  • Is this game for the Super NES?

  • no. this is arcade R-Type II - also released for PS1 in the "R-Types" collection.

Irem took arcade R-Type II (from 1989) removed about half levels, put in some new levels, not to mention downgrades to the graphics & speed so the SNES could run it, this was released as

Super R-Type in 1991. The original plan in 1990 was for a direct translation of R-Type II to be released on SNES, but Irem changed their minds, releasing Super R-Type instead.

  • i cant believe u can go INTO the final boss... it looks so easy, u dont even move and u wipe him without getting hit. does it work in super r-type?

    btw, was it TAS?

  • Don't know since I never quite played it. And this is not a TAS. As far as I know there are no Mame or arcade emulators which have functions required for a TAS.

  • no way am i having that mate

  • Wow. This game owned compared to Super R-type.

I just recently got R-type 3 for the wii's virtual console. I just hope I can get ninja like reflexes like yours so I can someday finish it. XD

  • Man, You are great! I love this game but I haven't beaten it yet...sometimes I wonder is it a tactical or a manic shooter ;P

  • Wow! what happened at 1:38 was mind blowing, anyone would've died in a situation like that. tv1ks, you are so damn gifted!

  • 0.o Seriously, I just played through that level, not the same difficulty though, but wierd. You beat that boss easily. But I can't ...

  • Is Awesome...This Stage Is Impossible, but... I can't believe this... But this video is awesome!!! Congratulations!!!

  • And I always thought you were good mainly at Gradius, looks like I'll have to call you R-Type Master as well now, heh heh.

  • woooo ! impressive !!

  • those monster ruled.... =.=
