  • htown's finest drummer

  • @simsdale Fuck that man! More like WORLDS finest drummer!

  • I just come back from a live of robert glasper experiment in paris. It was good as fuck, rob g. and Chris dada just kill this. and Thanks for the J Dilla Tribute at the end. RIP J DILLA.

  • Makes my spine cringe and warp

  • fantastic

  • who's the daddy.

  • can't even listen to maxwell without wanting to know who the drummer is

  • chris davee!!!! HSPVA graduate thts my highschool!

  • @rockin982 this also includes the classic Maiden Voyage

  • Is that my older brother, Bilal, at the beginning?

  • @lessunn the one and only

  • Jazz isn't suppose to be understood... its felt!

  • R Glaser is INSANE. For those who don't know, this is a Remix of a RADIOHEAD song called "Everything in Its Right Place".

Only this dude would take a radiohead joint and play it straight ahead like this.

  • when you listen to this. you have to thing the opposite.. this is the original and radioheads version is a simplified version lol

  • @Drumtome SO.......what you don't like jazz?.......cause this is PERFECT

  • @Drumtome its ok if you dont like this man... I understnd that YOU are a drummer.... Most drummers arent musicians..... Chris "Daddy" Dave however is a MUSICIAN....

  • @JazzFanMan19 excuse me? most drummers arent musicians? i don't agree with drumtome but still it kills me to hear you say that.

  • You idiot.

  • who cares? it's dope as FUCK

  • man that beggining was something else

  • unbelievable.....glasper.....dave....breathtaking.....jazz-hip-hop...im speechless..

  • Comment removed

  • is that Lionel Louke on guitar?

  • looks like. i was thinking the same thing

  • who is that on the keys???????

  • Robert Glasper.

He and Chris Dave make an unbelievable pair.

  • i was at this show. it was crazy. you got any more vids from that night?

  • That bass line is sick as a mothafucka. I don't have nothin' to add about the drums; that shit speaks fo' itself.

These cats is straight in the pocket.

  • chris is sick!!!!!!

  • Is that Robert Glasper on keys?! cuz dude is killing.

  • Yup, I know huh? The stuff he does is just crazy. XD

  • I chose guitar as my main instrument but when I shed the drums, I try to get the feel that Chris Dave and soo many like him have brought to the table..He's killin it

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Greetings..I know race is illusion and we are all beings of energy and creativity..But thank god for black music and everything that the black culture has brought to this music we now call jazz..

    with love and appreciation..

  • his feel is so unique and original. to me it is not a question of who's better. but chris's approach definintely stands alone.

  • this guy reminds me of how my dad used to drive...reckless and fast but with so much skill that he could pull off these crazy swerving things without crashing

  • Maiden

    voyage?!!!!!!

  • true... it is a stupid arguement!

  • Haha, I completely agree! I'm glad to see that someone notices a silly argument a mile away. =D

  • No offence, but he still does not hold a candle to Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers, Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl etc. Those guys have paved the way for so many players, including Chris. Even the younger cats like Ron Bruner, Chris Coleman, Tony Roster etc. they are definitely on Chris's level, if not better in some cases. I love Chris's playing but he is not the best in the WORLD. No one is. But he has a ways to go before he trumps the guys I listed above, musically, technically or otherwise. =]

  • I dont understand why JOJO is not mentioned who has that whole drum and bass style down to a science.....

  • Jojo is great also! But I could go on all day mentioning fantastic drummers. I was simply using those guys as an example.

  • chris dave is the best drummer in the world period... you should check out some of his clips playing in houston with meshell ndegecello and mos def... str 8 fire...

  • Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say he's the "best drummer in the world", I will say he's definatly up there as ONE of the best. There are a lot of players out there who have done some phenomenal stuff throughout their career. So don't get ahead of yourself just yet! haha. But he's on his way for sure. I can't wait to see where he is in five years or so. =]

  • i still say i would put him up against anybody that is living on planet earth right now that plays drums and he will kill them technically, musically, and w/his work ethic... nobody practices as much as this guy...

  • I think that the only name worthy of being in the same sentence as Chris Dave musically is Stokeley Williams, bcuz Stoke taught Chris.

  • thats coo but from wu i heard when stokley found chris he was already playing like this... no doubt they picked up alot from each other

  • Chris was playing like this before he went to college trust me, being knowing him for over 25 years

  • Yeah there Is no "best drummer in the world". This guy Is up there with the best though!

  • no thats not the foundation!! and yes that is bilal! lol

  • Are these the guys from The Foundation?

  • THATS FIRE! i like how they go into a dillaish groove @ 2:20! Fire!

  • !!!YEAH!!!

  • WAS THAT BILAL?

  • glasper is one the tastiest characters out there, for sure
