Religion doesn't give meaning to life! That is ridiculous. Life brings meaning to life. Everyone has their own way of living some people are religious, some not but everyone is either looking for meaning or their place in the world or trying to live up to their idea of how they see their life's meaning. I've just watched the debate, D'Souza is an eloquent debater and it was enjoyable to watch him face Hitchens, but he didn't come out as well as he portrays in this particularly slanted interview. He's mostly pushing thin arguements across which were laid to rest by Hitchens- perhaps he has to stick to them because they're the same points he makes in his book... it means he's only preaching to the converted... doesn't that miss the point? Btw, there could be an afterlife. If science teaches us anything, its that we don't yet have the capacity to understand much of the universe. But, that doesn't mean we should adopt affirmative beliefs in concepts on insufficient evidence, simply because we find such beliefs soothing, or becuase they sound plausible.

The biggest difference in the Christian doctrine is that salvation comes from God's end, in which He reaches out to us, rather than man bridging the gap by his own doing. Their health services per capita are better, and their education rates are on-par. Do atheists just sit around looking for youtube videos about religion, only to write some disparaging comment about those who believe? I'm starting to think that youtube is where atheists "go to church". "Christians are dumb. AMEN! Religion is stupid. AMEN!" This is getting a little out of hand. I'm glad to see, however, you're in full force...let's me know that youtube is a great platform to present the Gospel...Not all of you are hostile, i'm sure. One's that aren't prolly never comment.

I come here to hear both sides and to give religious people the chance to show me factual evidence that god exists. As yet, nobody has!

@toddcruzaider Probably a lot of atheists came here because they watched the Hitchens D'Souza debate on here and this is a related video. Besides, people who define themselves as part of a minority--in this case a minority when it comes to their belief system--like to learn more about it. Hey, even evangelical Christians like to talk as if they're part of a threatened minority, and for them it's not even true.

The Bible is a collection of books written by at least 40 authors over approximately a fifteen hundred year period. The authors were historians, military generals, prophets, kings, politicians, a doctor, a rabbi, fishermen and even a tax collector. At no point does the Bible contradict itself or prove to be historically false. The Bible has been scrutinized and picked apart for thousands of years and still has people believing. I've just watched the debate, D'Souza is an eloquent debater and it was enjoyable to watch him face Hitchens, but he didn't come out as well as he portrays in this particularly slanted interview. He's mostly pushing thin arguements across which were laid to rest by Hitchens- perhaps he has to stick to them because they're the same points he makes in his book... it means he's only preaching to the converted... doesn't that miss the point? Anyway, well done Christopher Hitchens.

Ahha, so he's admitting they teach religion to children to give them meaning and morals. I was taught rationality and critical thinking by my parents as were a great deal of my friends.
Moral argument - debunked.

The only remaining argument is whether it is theoretically possible for a God to exist, which is debatable by probabilities suggest no.
