ok there must be something wrong with me because it only took me 8:08:12 to complete my very first run of Dead Space, that is only on play through 1 though... what am I doing differently?
I just beat the game for the first time and it took around 19 hours. I played it on hard difficulty on the PC and I'm the type that explores every area and tries to get every pickup. And like you, Slack, I sometimes run waaay back to get to a stasis recharge. lol
dead space took me between 35 and 40 hours. I like to follow the story and read all readable stuff. Oblivion could take like 10 years. :) BTW SKYRIM FTW
it takes me a relatively short few hours because i just run through the game not really looking around for pickups and that gets me in trouble with games like these! trying to change my ways
It's true what you say that it took you 4 hours for chapter seven.
Becuase what i know, from the Farcry 2 walkthrough, it can take like an hour for one mission when you do the friendpart, and extra diamonds on the way :)
mine takes about anywhere from like 20-40 hours i like to spend first time through now resident evil 4 iv beaten 7 times and my fastest was 5hours but dead space im on chapter 7 and i have about 6 hours clocked my first time and with exploration.
When I read reviews and they talk about "how fast they did it" I often wonder on how accurate the "review" will be then.
I myself like to take my time to play a game, I guess age has something to do with it, as I'm hitting 40 this year. But I remember even back in the days of the first Tomb Raiders and even older games like F19 Stealth fighter on Commodore 64, I took my time exploring as much as I could.
What fun can you have, rushing trough a game like let's say Far Cry 2 ???
I finished this game in exactly 9 hours! w00t! XD
Well act i'm a scaredy cat. I don't really like playing scary games bcoz i tend to get scared easily but after reading many good reviews about this game, why not? And it's totally worth it! I played this game as to finish it as fast as I could so that I can get over it quicker. heh
Normally (using Bioshock and Borderlands as an Example)I spend a total of hours checking my inventory, coming up with a plan, before starting a siege tactic, more-or-less.
LOL! It's funny watching this after watching you boss FC2. Fight the fear Slack, confidence is key!! I don't enjoy a dark slasher in my grill but a dark slasher doesn't enjoy my line gun in it's face!
dude, I take forever to finish a game. I check every single nook-and-cranny. I took like two hours to beat ther first chapter in Dead Space (what can I say, I'm an explorer). Btw, reading your profile-I didn't see any secret word
I reckon I have a bad habit of rushing games for the first time I play them.
I keep rushing to the "progression" points, if that makes sense, and before I know it, the game is over. I certainly enjoy them more if I slow down, BioShock is a good example.
First playthrough, I zoomed through it. Second time I slowed down, took everything in, found and listened to all the tapes I could find, explored more, tried dif BDaddy strats....I found it much more enjoyable then.
I also take my time. There's no reason to buy a game if you're not going to enjoy it. Rushing through a game doesn't make any sense, it's like fast-forwarding a movie.
Yeah I know that sounded kooky (*chuckle*) but I was actually referring to the fact that that area you enter there is also on a previous level (I forget which one).
Yeah or so it would seem. I tried many times (as I tried and commented in the video) and it didn't work for some reason. And I know how to use kinesis. It's not a problem with that.
I always thought most reviewers did an estimate of time to completion or looking it up elsewhere, never really getting through to the end themselves. At least those are my thoughts and I'm a little suspicious of most review sites. The main reason being that I enjoyed many badly rated games and at the same time hated really hyped up and perfect rated games. Then again you really can't trust someone else to tell you what to like.
I just realized that the Dead Space save games gives you a running total of the time you played the game so far. The thing is it doesn't account for all the times you die and reload or replay certain saves just to do it better. It only times your forward progression. I just arrived at the beginning of the last chapter and the game is clocking me at 16:25. But that's way off. I've easily spent double that time on this game so far.
its a good think know you are a human been (sorry bat inglish) why you ask well is because the way you play farcry i olmost belive you were like and andrpoi of some thing like that remember all the diamons your shoot acurasy is amaisin and parts of the game i have to try a cupel time you did like it was nothis. well you are good and human keep it come this vids
I completed Batman Arkham Asylum in a pretty disappointing 5 hours considering how hyped i was when i got it. It does have some re-play value, but not enough to start playing it straight again. Another downside is the lack of any online mode... sure there are challenge maps and leader boards, but no way to really try and get a compettitive edge here. Don;t get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, in fact i would rate it 10/10... but it's more of a 'Rental' rather than a must buy.
its a game that you can explorer and do the mission when ever you want.
so i explorerd and it took to me to finish the game 110 hours.
i just like to drive kicking patrols ass find diamonds scouting guard posts and do the body missions (dos missions that you get in the marina\mikes bar)
and all that stuff.
i maximized Far Cry 2.
i did every thing possible in this game and enjoyd it!
and yes, i play my games fast and slow, for example GTA games, i take my time doing missions, and usually just fuck around. same with games like fallout 3, i beat it a bunch of times, and still play it with mods. others like the original 3 Fears, i went pretty fast, pausing at moments to marvel at the immense ammounts of blood and gore. :D
enough with the "OOO I GOT FIRST COMMENT!!" crap. and yeah, like i said on ur previous DS vid, how i got bored of Dead Space, i think i might just start to play it again, thx to u Slack! Thx!! :D i just gotta get a new computer....so waiting for this one to blow up! :P
i love taking time playing my games, but here is my theory why game reviewrs say how many hours to play a game. The reviewers have so many games to review and play and then write the reviews that they fly through the game to get a general idea of how long the game takes. if they didn't do that than it would take forever to get new reviews out and video reviews. Keep the videos up slack
I think if you buy i game you sould have a good time with it so long you can. So i think you doing the right ting with that and if you ask me i play like little little faster but i do not commentar.
My first play through of Dead Space took me about 15 hours. I was too freaked out to go faster.
