  • Gregg's new album "Low Country" whoops Clapton like a shoolboy on this tune.

  • Give me Sleepy John's version. That guy could really sing and play!

  • both ec and gregg allman's versions are great. each has its own style. for me, gregg allman's got the groove i'm digging. listened to it 4 or 5 times on my drive home and 1 final time in the driveway before i went inside. dogs thought i'd gone off the deep end...haha

  • @arebow - oh yeah, just discovered g allman's version here on youtube and played it over and over - what alot of nuance. i'm getting it so i can sit in the driveway, too....

  • They still have one across the Rio Grande in the Rio Grande Valley. You can go back and forth across from Mexico to Texas.

  • IMO, clapton's version sounds much better than gregg's ....

  • gregg allmans version rocks

  • I realy like how he plays and sing this blues, he's my favorites.

  • This version of this song is one of my all time favorites. Also really like Gregg Allman's new version.

  • I LIKE GREEG ALLMAN, VERSION, BETTER, ERICS, GOOD TO DON,T GET ME WRONG.

  • simply amazing

  • This song is off the CD "Another Ticket" which is incredibly underrated.

  • @DodgerInPA I couldn't have said it better.

  • YEAAHHH - THIS IS BLUES FROM THE FINEST SORT - HIGH DEGREE

  • thank you, Clapton

  • many thanks rubycat

  • this is real good blues and especially when Eric is playing and singing - yeaahhh !!!

  • Wonderful guitar playing :-)

  • Floating bridges would have been even more approriate if in stead of Surrey, England, Eric had been a pre-grunge Seattle native, or an Army rocker, since "floating bridges" exist in those territories [search Pontoon bridges.]

  • @SteveCarras This song was written by Sleepy John Estes, In Bayou country they used to make floating bridges out of old barrels strung with cable. They were dangerous because they would rust and leak, this would put more weight on the cables, then the peoples weight would eventually break the cables loose, and down went everything. These make shift bridges were often used in out of the way places like honky tonk bars.

  • Nice! Gregg Allman has a great version of this song on his new record coming out April 2010.

  • Thanks for posting. I love the early 80s stuff that hasn't gotten its due.
