  • Bloody good review. Its a plastic body though isn't it? Also, can you control the aperture, exposure and iso in video mode? Very important for me. Thanks

  • Thank you so much!

This Review helped me a ton :)

  • This was by far the best review i have watched on youtube. THE BEST. thank you!

  • Finally a review which is informative and has bucket load of example shots! Thanks

  • I just got this camera recently, I can I am a noob, and been a cyber-shot user for the 7 years. I wanted to upgrade to a canon rebel T3, but found this camera. I had to give it a go, and bought this on a whim. I was feeling a little buyer remorse for not getting the Canon, but your review has put me at ease. I feel I made the right choice. I wanted something easy, and I am glad to know that it will suit my needs.

  • @Pennybear0302 I can agree**

  • sony nex c3 or nikon 1 j1?

  • best review for this camera...*like =)

  • lenses of nex system are so shit that i just prefer to use a good compact camera, there is no big difference. Unless you prefer use manual lenses with adaptator, dslr are far better.

  • By far the best review I've seen - DigitalRev should get a better perspective on the balance between humour and content - here's a class example!

  • I had mine last christmas. This camera is great. The menus are a little pain in the ass sometimes but with a little poke, you'll get used to it. I, at least, dont mind that it lacks dials like the usual slrs have, but that's just me. Im very happy with this camera. Thanks for the review

  • I had mine last christmas. This camera is great. The menus are a little pain in the ass sometimes but with a little getting used

  • very nice review. i was gonna pick up the nex-5 from sony because it was @$499 (sold out now??!!?=/) but I think I'll spend the extra $50 and pick this one up instead. The newer sensor and features sound pretty good too. thanks xD

  • A great camera review! No silliness and stupid jokes!I liked it!

  • Best review. Great camera.

  • I got this one as a present this christmas. i looooooove it! <3 can't wait to make awesome pictures XD

  • Great review! REALLY helpful. :)

  • Great review

  • Great review entertaining and useful :)

  • that's the best review I've ever seen

  • loved the vid you so funny XD

  • het blunty i was just wondering, is there a built in flash on this beauty or is the image quality good enough even when shooting with high ISO so that it's not needed?

just in case you would happen to bring it to a party or something like that and you really need to take pictures of a shot marathon...

  • @topaulandbeyond The Sony Nex-C3, Nex-5n and Nex-7 share similar quality, in ascending order. The highest ISO it can take pictures in without any grain is around 1000-1100, according to snapsort. I think this is more than enough, plus you could definitely rely on the PSAM modes to suit whatever situation you're in.

  • @HollyTheFireNinja great^^ might actually buy my self one of these then :)

  • I'M GETTING MINE TODAAY

  • I can see the charm of this but for people who don't always carry around a tripod the tiny size of the body and the ratio of body-to-lens weight distribution will make most critical handheld shots more difficult that with a DSLR. Don't get me wrong, its got it charms, but i'll stick with my D3000

  • @U23Drocs I can understand why you would make that assumption, but as a man who spent a week shooting with it, it's actually not an issue, the balance is different to my DSLR yes, but it didn't actually hamper my ability to get handheld shots in any conditions.

  • @U23Drocs I own the C3 since a few days now, and you'd be surprised how light weight it is even with the large lens. There's a bulge on the right hand side that makes it easy to hold the camera firmly, even single handedly.

It is true tho that it it tips over toward the front when putting it on a flat surface or when carrying it around your neck.

  • It looks pretty ugly face on but I want one. The only thing holding me back from gettin a proper camera is that my phone wirelessly connects to my PS3 which makes backing things up then deletin them from the phone a lot fater than on a pc

  • 2:13 BE CAREFUL WITH THAT LENS!!

  • you should change your channel name to, Does it Suck?

  • @RadiumZ1 No, he shouldn't. Going by your logic, you should change YOUR channel name to "I'm a dipshit"

  • @Harlei3 you didn't even get what I was saying, blunnty3000 always says "does it suck" at the end of his video titles.

  • @RadiumZ1 No, he doesn't.

"Leica Lens on your Ricoh? Yup. GXR A12 Leica M-mount"

"Score! Sweet deal on lens + Rambling..."

"Something's WRONG with MY LITTLE PONY Friendship is magic
"

    Moron.

  • @Harlei3 NEW Thundercats Series- does it suck? - review

    F3AR the F.E.A.R. 3 - Does it Suck? - Review

Nintendo 3DS Review - Does it suck?

Pokémon Black & White Review - Does it Suck?

Shooting with the Canon 60D - Does it Suck?

    ‪Samsung NX100 Review - Does it Suck? ‬

Samsung Galaxy Tab review - Does it suck?

ECT...whats funny is you come out of left field over a suggestion about doing another video series. Its a complement.

  • @Blunty3000, im going over seas and i want to start photography as a hobby, i cant decide if i should get this or the sony nex-c3

  • Blunty, I approve of your Aisaka Taiga figure <3

  • Oooohhhhh.... nice :)

  • Im totally going to buy one of these now

  • Now that is a good review

  • That is an amazing photo at 7:53

  • Do the canon lenses require a super expensive adapter? Do they auto focus or manual only? I have a huge Canon lense collection but this camera looks phenomenal.

  • @Err0x manual only

as for the price i'm not so sure

  • man i hate having no money, would totaly buy this one.

  • @9:33 lol

  • I love this Video! It shows all the Information about the camera, its a review, sample and just a simple explanation. You put the pictures of it for us to examine while you say all the specs nice moves. Thanks :)

  • nice taiga nendoroid

  • Might have the same specs or better (without the mirror that is) than say a comparable Canon SLR like the 60D. Thing is, the lenses just can't compare with the variety Canon offers.

  • @hattrickster33 Well I've got good news.. you can still use all those Superb Canon Lenses on this ;) You even have the same crop-factor since the APS-C Sensor is identical in size to the on in the 60D!

  • Your Yoda wasn't THAT bad! lol!

  • Ha, Objection... now your tweet makes sense..

  • Cool camera

  • Is the NEX-C3 a potential predecessor to C3-PO?

  • Hey Blunty I LOVE your reviews, I had a question though do you have a review for a film + Digital Camera like Photographers for weddings etc. I have a film/photograhy student I want to buy something like that for and I would Love for a suggestion from someone intelligent.

  • Cool camera, bro!

  • It was a good yoda

  • Impressive camera. It is not surprising that Sony is leading with miniaturizing the body of the DSLR. Nice Screen too. that takes up almost the Whole back of the camera.

Awesome Review. I wonder how it will do over time and durability.

  • A decent review. You have come a long way Blunty. I have always found you entertaining, but have often disagreed with you. I studied Photography and a lot of people in the field scoff at these kind of cameras. It's good to see that you see that they do in fact have a place.

  • Nogizaka haruka spotted! Great review, it's a really nice camera :)

  • What about the battery life? Is it any good?

  • Is it just me, or does the photos seem a bit over-saturated?

  • Could you use this for Vlogging?

  • Wow. I was planning on buying sa DSLR but it's too heavy and bulky. And all I want is just really good picture quality. I wanna buy this someday... hopefully sometime in the near future.

  • 6:21 .. blunty use judo chop!

  • that yellow line focus thing is pretty cool. also what would that old looking lens be called?

  • i want this so bad now xD... i have to upgrade from my little canon

    powershot sx120is ....great review!!!!

and yes that was a bad yoda :P

  • Thanks for the review-It just made my search for a new camera a bit easier. ^^

  • Blunty, have you ever tried Sony NEX-5. If you have, could you tell if you can notice any significant difference in picture quality between it and this new NEX

  • @Jucketsx The main difference is feature-set, not image quality. Although the new upgraded sensor chip in the NEX-C3 is both slightly more sensitive & has ~2 extra megapixels. If you're looking to UPGRADE your NEX-5, I'd wait just a little longer for the upgrade to the 5 (C5?), or the even "more pro" (not quite officially confirmed), NEX-7 which is supposedly in it's way.

The NEX-C3 is a *fantastic* jumping-on point, but I don't see it as an upgrade path for existing NEX-5 owners

  • @Blunty3000 Hey man, if u ever get the chance, could u review the Sony DSC-HX100V/B? I'd like to hear an honest opinion, not juts it's so awesome ,so good and leave the cons behind.

How about it? U'r a great reviewer.

  • Tks blunty!

  • keep at it blunty

  • Hmm... maybe i should ask some questions that were already answered in the video...

Is this camera good for video? durr

  • lol right at the start "Name/Description" FAIL.

Good review though. I wish I understood photography so I could get excited about these things :(

  • My D3100 kit lens is also F3.5–5.6, I feel insulted.

Nah, but seriously looks like a great camera, and a very well made video. Out of interest, is there a hotshoe adapter available?

  • I had the chance to try on of these and the Olympus E-PL1, I would have to say what made the huge difference for me was that Sony had to get add the digital settings dial. I don't like that, I would prefer to have the actual dial and change mode without ever losing the image. Although I am not a Camera genius such as yourself, I found the old Olympus much easier to use.

  • Great review as always. ;)

  • Cute figurine :3

  • hey Blunty, can you review a couple of really good laptops because I think you have the only review videos worth watching.

  • Yoda, the, was a great!

  • i bought this camera last week and i'm really happy with it.

  • Australia is a rock :(

  • basicly its a paparatzi camera lol

  • awesome yado and good review as always just wish i understood all the tech you use for camera

  • Was the name/description title intentional? O_o

  • It has more ram than my computer it takes better camera shots then my phone it certainly costs more than both of those, and I don't care, it may be expensive but darn it's a great piece of technology and I need a camera that can do what a decent camera should do and more! I'm glad you made this review and now It's time to save up some serious cash

  • I think Blunty is already mad at the people asking questions already answered in the video

  • 850 bucks... why not just buy a 60d?

  • Thanks Blunty. As a camera newbie this vid has given me alot of info.

  • WOW, i may have to get a Sony for my next camera. I imagine it would make killer videos if i added on a better microphone? Poor sound quality was my one big disappointment on my current Panasonic tz5. Cheers

  • where do you get the money to buy all these cameras from ?

  • Sony is only name i buy

  • @Blunty3000 Blunty, can you please request the folks at Sony to give you a cheaper camcorder model such as HDR-CX150 to do a review...as we love your reviews but we'd like some cheaper options...please!

  • awesome review, thanks man

  • £500

    I don't want it any more >_<

  • OBJECTION!

  • nice reivew i hope i get this camera very soon.

  • Is that haruka? Anyways great review :D

Also, would you ever consider making a video about what you need & how to get into photography? I really have always wanted to but I don't know where to even start! Thanks

  • @Starwberrupowar where is this character from

  • @Animefan4ever5 She's from Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. She's haruka nogizaka xD

  • @Starwberrupowar thanxs

  • wait wait wait, so you want the interface to be user friendly not clunky and at the same time have many options to get to quickly?

ill pretend i never heard that....... k?

  • I want one i want one i want one !!

  • Awesome review dude

  • excellent review as always, just wish I could afford most of what you're reviewing...

  • If sony brings out a compact 28mm f/2.8 lens that makes this more pocketable then i'll grab one - But I see no point replacing or substituting my DSLR with one of these babies if she doesn't get in your pants easily. Pants pocket I mean :)

  • Always so negative..

    [PRODUCT] -Does it suck?

  • Thumbs up for BluntYoda

  • There's a professional review on the suggestion list. :)

  • hey! @Blunty3000 have you done a review on the FujiFilm FinePix HS20 EXR? if not, can you do one?

    thanks,

    Eddie

  • CAUTION!! :(

  • I gotta admit, I haven't been the most religious viewer and watched all of your recent videos. But after watching this, I still know it's good to be subscribed to you. You've made a review that a photography-illiterate fella like me can understand, as well as cater it to the more intellectual cameraladies&gentlemen. Or at least, I assume so from the fancy camera speak here and there. Good work!

  • as always a awsum job reviewing a product....

please do keep it up ;)

  • Thought it was a nexus 3

  • i thought that was an awesome yoda impression...

  • It would have been cool if they called it the NEX-C3P0...

You really do have a nack for great shots mate.

  • @blunty3000 this was on show at the last sony sessions... i loved it then and i love it even more... is that the NEXC3KB or the NEXC3DP?

  • @onlineadr Both those model numbers are precisely the same camera, only difference is one comes with one lens, the other is the twin lens kit.

  • @Blunty3000 oh ok :S

  • Thank you for the review Blunty!! :D

  • I like your reviews. You showcase the products in great situations.

  • @Blunty3000

Are you planning doing a review on super zoom bridge cameras like sony hx100 or fujifilm hs20exr?

  • great review mate! just a question about the Video mode, does this cam has a manual mode in Video like those Canon DSLR ??

  • @AuraQualic It has a dedicated video button, it'll shoot in whatever mode you have it set for, including manual, or any of the specialty modes that and continuous auto-focus means it's actually more capable than the Canon DSLR's in video mode.

  • Great review, as always.

  • love the camera but not the price :D well it seems i have to work hard to get myself a normal camera :( its 757AUD in hungarian forints :( (and thats the cheapest i found so far :( )

  • hilarious yoda

  • This review sounded more like a really really good ad (as always, if Blunty likes it he really shows how). But it worked. I really really want one. I wish Sony has a lot more range in lenses though.

  • Just adding in a completely useless comment regarding the quality of these NEX babies... Having worked at a Sony Centre when the first models were released and taking one home for a few weeks, they are nothing short of quality. Good to see they're keeping up their game!

  • Comment removed

  • Ahh. Now I need to consider the upgrade. This review helps a lot, I love my NEX-5. I take it with me everywhere in my bag, just in case.

    Cheers Blunty

  • would you recommend this to beginners look for professional quality?

  • @tman383 For the love of zombiejesus... WHY can't people WATCH the video first... THEN ask questions that *haven't* already been fucking answered IN the damn video?

    Seriously, I'm asking you.. WHY?

  • @Blunty3000 you're right ^-^ my bad XD

  • @Blunty3000 Fucking awesome.

  • @Blunty3000 what anime is that nendroid ( I think thats whatcha call it) character from?

And how is there any chance in the world I will ever be as awesome with photo's as you?

  • Does it have bulb mode?

  • @MinDControlDx No. Neither did the NEX-3. However, the NEX-5 DID, and it's reasonable to assume when its replacement arrives it will too. So if you require exposures longer then 30 seconds (the max of the NEX-C3) then I'd suggest waiting for the new higher end model of the second-gen NEX cameras.

  • Hey Blunty are you on a holiday or something? Is that the reason why you're in the outback?

  • Did you just compare a micro 4/3's sensor to a dslr?

  • @holydogable You mean the bit where I mentioned the size difference? ... If you didn't hear my carefully chosen words properly, you COULD have just scrubbed the video back and listened again... Please do try to pay attention. Redundant and needless questions are fucking irritating.

  • Hey I was wondering what camera you used to film this review?

  • "Warped inside this TARDIS of a Camera" - BRILLENT analogy, seriously awesome!

  • lol taiga.

  • This looks great but I'd just need a camera for youtube recording, currently using iphone4. Any recommendations blunty ?

  • DID I SEE TAIGA IN THE THUMBNAIL !!!

IF SO I MAY HAVE A MAN CRUSH

*AHEM* I MEAN GRRR MEAT , BEEF, SPORTS ,

    Uguuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • @Konartwist I only clicked on the video cause i thought i saw Taiga xDD Auuuuuuuuuuuu

  • epic yoda impersonation :)

  • @comepost I've done better :P

  • Every time I watch one of these, I think about how much I'd love to get into photography. Then I catch the USD on it, and I remember how poor I am :P

  • Man... this camera is awfully tempting. After a few years of cheap digital camera's it may be time to step up and look at something like this.

  • ooooo very nice review man!! =D

  • my personal experience with this camera; went to check it out at the store, liked the specs, and design, but then i noticed the price and it scared me shitless.

and thats my experience with this camera :-D

  • @PullusPardus how much was it?

  • @FoxMedina i don't know if its the same exact model, but it was about $800.

  • @PullusPardus hmm this model is like 600 on amazon

  • Great review!

  • they need to make these even smaller lol for that price.

  • love your reviews, if the item is good you hype me up get it and if it's bad you still go though everything to show exactly what's bad and the things that are still good.

  • it's looks a little old.. but it's got some awesome features

  • @kctwistie2 Looks old? It's brand new!

  • @Blunty3000 Haha no!! I mean it looks old fashioned- well kind of. Compared to the cannon, dslr anyway. Did you take the photos in NT? :)

  • @kctwistie2 Most of the shots in this were taken in NT yes.

  • @kctwistie2 it looks old fashioned because it has it's lens on , when you remove that (you shouldn't! its great) it will look like a cannon one.

  • is this good for youtube video?

  • Love all these reviews man, keep em' up

  • was to start into a fail? name/description

  • @dovten9deep Nobody gets me

  • @Blunty3000 i take that as a no PS : nice video keep them up!
