A DOE rep, years ago, said Laser incineration was a bad idea. Yet someone got a patent on it for medical waste, after I spilled the beans in college. Not the same but similar. The reactor factor tends to ionization / wave transporting radionuclides from the mix, to isolation . Polorizing mass spectrography is an active component.
