Thank you...........always loved this track..............learning to play it is not quite so easy................already had the basics and I think you may well ahve filled in the blanks....Martin
@russell2ls, thanks, that was my intention, glad it helped, also keep the open 'E' going while playing. The watch sound is actually the symbols from the video recording I'm playing along with.
@terry63ireland I agree! The pull-ups, so charatarizing for this song, are just slidely over the top (and therefore out of tune). Peter Green pulls the strings just a tiny bit before the actual note and in a lazy way (he runs behind the rhythm) and that is what captures his magic. Good effort though.
awesome, did'nt really notice the watch until i read the other comments,,,gr8 playing nice to listen too, wen mellowing out, and gr8 learning for others....keep it up...
good effort! but my main criticism would be that you're rather mechanical. Peter Green is a real 'feel' player, try to really capture that feel. Just little things like emphasising certain notes, coming in slightly later/earlier at times and using more vibratos and slides. Don't worry about playing it exactly the same, put your own mark on it, he would never play it the same live.
very good! but watch your bend pitchting! slightly off in a few small places, thats not dissing, just trying to give constructive criticism from one guitarist to an other!
lovely - just lovely. I really like the way you play this. I remember reading in Guitar Player Peter Green comparing the main riff (the partial barre of the A chord, the B note) as "Merry Christmas"
he's got the camera right on his hands for one. two if you really need tabs there's this thing called google, USE it, stop trying to get him to waste his time sending you tabs you dont need.
1st string 16th fret, pre bend a whole step, play the note & release it. Then 2nd string, 17 play & bend. Repeat. Third time through goes to 1st string, 14fret to 2nd string 17th fret. Hope this helps.
tnx, and one more part, before this 2:19. you go 1st string 18th fret then 20th to 18th slide and 2nd string 18h to 20th slide. then repeat. and third time?
Thanks CP, I got a new videocam. Was using a webcam, thanks for telling me as I can't tell the difference except for the size fills the screen better. Probably the frames per second (fps) are alot more with the videocam.
Thanks for the kind comments mate MrS glad it helped.

what makes music neat is the little variations people put into a cover- its not exactly like Pete Greene's but very nice.
I stumble thru it on a acoustic nwithout a cutaway and have to make a few adaptations but I like it.
nootaramus 2 years ago
You must bend both strings a whole step up when you play solo part,it is harder but sounds much better.
Greetings!

nice technique but your tone fails in some places, try turning the tone knob on the rhythm pickup to about 4.

vladar1983 2 years ago
1st string 16th fret, pre bend a whole step, play the note & release it. Then 2nd string, 17 play & bend. Repeat. Third time through goes to 1st string, 14fret to 2nd string 17th fret. Hope this helps.
Wolf4u2 2 years ago
tnx, and one more part, before this 2:19. you go 1st string 18th fret then 20th to 18th slide and 2nd string 18h to 20th slide. then repeat. and third time?
vladar1983 2 years ago
Yes, with one more 1st string, fret 20 to 18 slide at the end of what you wrote.
Wolf4u2 2 years ago
is there any way of getting the sound without having to bend the strings ,,ie,,extra notes that way need to be slipped in
thebigbodman 2 years ago
Some can be done with a slide, otherwise "no". Lighter gauge strings will help with bends though.
